Filter by:The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effects of personalized innovative fritters on the nutritional health of overweight and obese individuals aged 40 to 70 years. The main questions it aims to answer are: - How does consuming personalized innovative fritters affect the nutritional health of overweight and obese individuals? - What is the mechanism underlying the impact of personalized innovative oil bars on nutritional health? Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: a trial group consuming personalized innovative fritters and a control group consuming traditional fritters with equal energy content. Over the course of 6 months, participants will undergo two phases of intervention separated by a two-month washout period. During the intervention, participants will be assessed comprehensively for sensory ratings and nutritional health status through biological indicators, physical examinations, and other relevant measures. Researchers will compare the trial group to the control group to determine if personalized innovative fritters lead to improvements in nutritional health compared to traditional fritters.
The investigators propose the Gluten Free Nutrition Optimization through Ultra-processed food Reduction and Improved Strategies for Health (GF-NOURISH) study to demonstrate the feasibility and success of a nutritional education program focused on naturally occurring gluten-free foods and minimizing ultra-processed gluten-free foods. The investigators hypothesize that nutritional educational (GF-NOURISH) intervention will have multiple health benefits
Nutrients important to bones. Because bones undergo continuous remodeling, an adequate supply of nutrient substrate is needed to support the formation phase of bone remodeling. In addition to their passive roles as substrate for bone formation, dietary calcium and protein play active roles in bone metabolism, as well as phosphorus and vitamin D. Other vitamins and minerals are also needed for metabolic processes related to bone, directly or indirectly.
In this trial, the investigators aim to assess impact of goat milk-based infant formula on the severity and frequency of gastrointestinal symptoms, as well as other associated symptoms, and the health-related quality of life in infants exhibiting symptoms possibly related to cow's milk, compared to a cow milk-based formula.
The study is a prospective, single-center, randomized controlled trial that will be conducted at the Medical University of Varna. This setting offers access to a wealth of clinical expertise in managing CP and ASD and a rich tradition of conducting robust nutritional interventions.
This study, it was aimed to compare the effects of oral stimulation and non-nutritive sucking practices on the transition to full oral feeding in babies with a gestational age of 26-32 weeks. Non-oral feeding methods are frequently used in babies born prematurely since sucking and sucking-swallowing coordination have not yet developed. While some premature babies gain the sucking and swallowing reflexes faster, some of them cannot develop this reflex for a long time, so the length of hospital stay is prolonged. All infants who can be fed completely enterally (PMA >29 weeks) will be randomized into 4 groups as oral stimulation (group 1), pacifier (group 2), oral stimulation + pacifier (group 3), and control group by using a stratified blocked randomization method with a block size of 4. Stratification on GA (26-27, 28-29, 30-32 weeks GA) was used to ensure that the groups had similar gestational age distribution. The time of the patients to start breastfeeding and the length of hospital stay (days) will be compared.
Mindfulness, seemingly a simple concept, research shows that the impact of mindfulness on the overall wellness of an individual can be helpful (5). Research supports that mindfulness leads to reduced stress, enhanced performance, better focus, and improved approach (7). Areas of mindfulnessare mindful eating, movement and meditation. Application of mindfulness tools in these areas can be beneficial to health outcomes and to create a happier more efficient work environment (9). Mindful eating shows to improve diet quality and attitudes toward food and eating. Individuals better understand physical hunger/fullness cues, improve nutrient density, weight control, digestion, systolic blood pressure, and stress(2). Disordered eating behaviors have also shown to improve(3). Mindless eating, such as eating while being on the phone, driving, or watching television can have the opposite effect and can be linked to more emotional hunger cues. Combining mindful eating with diet therapy can lead to healthier food choices and a more positive feeling towards eating and body image, reducing stress and improving the overall wellness of an individual (4). Aspire's experience shows that aspects of teacher's wellness is worsening with ,media reporting more and more employees resigning from their positions every day (wccb,2021). Teachers have voiced their need for more support with their wellbeing. As a result, Aspire Nutrition is targeting school employees through a newly developed mindfulness program titled Nourish Carolina. This program will be focused on improving the overall wellness of participants Participants are enrolled in the study for 12 weeks. All participants will have weekly nutritional counseling and bi-weekly mental health counseling. Study group will have nutrition and mental health counseling with mindfulness activities and control group will receive nutrition and mental health sessions without mindfulness activities. There is a program curriculum so that mental health and nutrition mindfulness activities compliment eachother The mindfulness lessons for study group are divided into 6 nutrition and 6 mental health sessions, for 15 minutes during the session. Positive outcomes could include improved workplace performance as a result of enhancing school employees overall wellness and quality of life by reducing stress levels, improving diet quality, and improving mental health.
- Assess the nutritional status of critically ill children using different nutritional assessment tools in management. - Assess accuracy and validity of screening tools in diagnosis of malnutrition by the following: - Strong kids - Stamp - PYMS - Assess the effect of early versus late enteral nutrition on the outcome and predict the complication associated with enteral feeding.
Large for Gestational Age (LGA) infants have excess fat-mass (FM) proportion secondary to prolonged in utero exposure to an energy-rich environment. Our preliminary data suggest that excess FM proportion can be associated with oral feeding delay and a potentially modifiable therapeutic target to improve oral feeding outcomes. The objective of this study is to determine the impact of a short-term Fat-free mass (FFM)-indexed feeding on the oral intake volumes in LGA infants with oral feeding difficulties.
Malnutrition is believed to be associated with clinical outcomes in ill patients and several studies have shown that nutrition status play a major role in disease prognosis in adults . Different authors have described an increase in morbidity and mortality attributable to malnutrition, as it lead to state of partial immunosuppression, delay wound healing ,causes muscular atrophy and increase length of stay.
