Filter by:This study was planned as a randomized controlled experimental study to determine the effect of exercise with Augmented Reality Glasses (AR) on metabolic parameters, anthropometric measurement values and quality of life in children with T1DM aged 10-12 years. The research will be carried out with children aged 10-12 with T1DM who are followed up in Erciyes University Health Application and Research Center Fevzi Mercan-Mustafa Eraslan Children's Hospital Pediatric Endocrinology Outpatient Clinic. A total of 30 (AR exercise group=15 and control group=15) children with T1DM between the ages of 10-12 will be included in the sample of the study, according to the sampling calculation. The data of the study, Descriptive Characteristics Form for Children with T1DM and Their Families, Serum and Urine Biochemistry Values Form, Anthropometric Measurement Values Form, Quality of Life Scale for Children with Diabetes Mellitus Child and Parent Form (PedsQL 3.0), Augmented Reality Glasses, Continuous Glucose Tracker, Blood Glucose Meter, Body Composition Analyzer, Caliper, Tape Measure and Digital Height and Weight Meter. Ethics committee approval from "Erciyes University Clinical Research Ethics Committee" and institutional permission from "ERU Health Application and Research Center Mustafa Eraslan Fevzi Mercan Children's Hospital" were obtained in order to conduct the study. Hypothesis tests, correlation and regression analyzes will be applied according to the suitability of the data for normal distribution. As a result of the study; Exercise practice with augmented reality glasses is expected to improve metabolic parameters and anthropometric measurement values and increase the quality of life in children with T1DM. The main question it aims to answer are: Exercise with augmented reality glasses in children with T1DM; - It has an effect on metabolic parameters. - It has an effect on anthropometric measurement values. - It has an effect on the scores of the Quality of Life in Children with Diabetes Mellitus Scale-Child and Parent Form (PedsQL 3.0).

the overall aim of this study is to examine the effect of adapted Evidence-based nursing practices training program on the competency level of nurses caring for Mechanically ventilated patients in selected ICU in Egypt. Significant of the study: The current study is expected to improve the nurses' practices regarding caring for mechanically ventilated patients in terms of optimal quality of care by keeping them up to date with the latest (EBP). Also, it is likely to enhance nurses' confidence and work satisfaction. Accordingly, all mentioned expected outputs will significantly impact either patients or the Healthcare Delivery System (HDS) in Egypt. The implementation of the study will be expected to positively impact minimizing mortality, morbidity, length of stay, incidence of readmission, and costs. Accordingly, all mentioned expected outputs will significantly impact either patients or the Healthcare Delivery System (HDS) in Egypt. Also increases the satisfaction of patients and their families. Also, the current study is expected to encourage health care providers in Egypt to increase the engagement of EBP as a concept in patient care since EBP is rarely adopted in health care facilities especially in Egypt [21-23]. in addition to recognizing the factors that may affect the implementation of EBP in such Egyptian hospitals. Hypothesis: H1: Nurses who are given an evidence-based nursing practices training program (μ1) demonstrate a sustainable higher change in their level of competency than those who take the current traditional in-service education (μ2) in respect of caring for mechanically ventilated patients. (H1: μ1 > μ2). Research Design: A prospective, true experimental, and comparative research design will be used in the current study. The type of true experiment that will be conducted is (pretest-posttest control). The study will compare the current traditional in-service training with developed (EBNTP) regarding the care of mechanically ventilated patients. True-experiment is research design where the researcher initiates an experimental treatment, randomly assigns test units and treatments to the experimental group, and use of control group [27]. Sample and Setting The research will take place in an adult intensive care unit (ICUs) of the National Hepatology and tropical medicine research institute (NHTMRI), Cairo, Egypt. In this study, the sample size is expected to be 80 critical care nurses working in selected (ICUs) estimated by (G Power analysis). Two groups will be selected randomly from the overall sample size (study and control). All nurses should have met the following requirements to be included: - Willing to take part in this research. - Hold the existing position for at least three months. - Two years or more of critical care experience. - Nurses who intend to leave their jobs four months from now will not be eligible.
One of the most common problems in patients in the postoperative period is pain and the associated deterioration in sleep quality. Deterioration in sleep quality can cause pain to be perceived more severely. It is recommended to use non-pharmacological approaches as well as pharmacological interventions in the management of these problems. This study was planned to determine the effect of hot foot bath and lavender essential oil foot bath application on postoperative sleep quality and pain in patients undergoing abdominal surgery.
The study is planned to be conducted as a two-group randomized controlled trial to determine the effect of lavender inhalation on individuals with coronary heart disease. Research data will be collected at Çukurova University Medical Faculty Balcalı Hospital Cardiology Clinic between January-June 2023. In the study, at least 56 samples were found to be sufficient for the sample size. The data of the study will be collected using the Personal Information Form and the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index.
Chemotherapy is a treatment that uses natural or synthetic chemicals and biological agents to kill rapidly proliferating cells. As chemotherapeutic drugs prevent the growth and proliferation of cancer cells, they also inhibit the growth of normal cells such as intestinal and oral mucosal epithelium, bone marrow cells, and hair follicle cells. During chemotherapy treatment, which is widely used in the treatment of cancer cases and considered one of the most effective methods of cancer treatment, individuals; may experience side effects such as nausea-vomiting, loss of appetite, mouth ulcers, pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and changes in their skin and nails. There are several factors that can trigger anxiety in cancer patients: fear of cancer and its treatment-related side effects, fear of relapse after treatment, uncertainty, concerns about changing roles and relationships, and fear of death. Treatment methods are available for a variety of side effects and negative effects experienced by cancer patients. These methods include pharmacological and nonpharmacological approaches. For example, benzodiazepines are frequently used to treat anxiety in cancer patients. If benzodiazepines are not adequate, low-dose antipsychotics can be used. However, benzodiazepines and their derivatives may reduce respiratory function, induce sedation, and cause confusion. Music is an example of non-pharmacological cognitive-behavioral treatment that is used to control negative symptoms in many fields. The use of music for healing is easy, has no side effects, and is beneficial for physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Anxiety and fear can be reduced by therapeutic music, which increases endorphin secretion and positive emotions. Treatment of serious illnesses such as cancer requires a holistic approach that includes psychological, social, and spiritual support in addition to pharmacological treatment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine how different types of music affect cancer patients' anxiety and satisfaction during chemotherapy.
The goal of this clinical trial is to construct a symptom management strategy for patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumor targeted therapy based on symptom management theory under the guidance of MRC framework. Embed the symptom management strategy into the information platform and conduct an empirical study on integrated care for GIST patients, and compare it with the traditional outpatient follow-up patients to explore the safety and effectiveness of the symptom management strategy and the application effect of the integrated care platform.
Transient tachypnea of newborn (TTN) causes 42.5%-60% of non-infectious respiratory distress cases in newborns, it is seen in only 1% of all newborns. In the etiology of TTN, it results from the inability to effectively clear the fetal lung fluid immediately after birth. The most known risk factors of TTN are; prematurity, malpresentation, abnormal birth, premature rupture of the membrane, meconium aspiration, fetal distress, multiple pregnancy, male gender, and low Apgar score. TTN; It typically occurs in term and late preterm newborns within the first two hours of life. For the diagnosis of TTN, respiratory rate >60/min in the first 6-12 hours shows signs of groaning and retraction and improve spontaneously within a few days with 40% or less supportive oxygen therapy. However, in some rare cases, prolongation of symptoms, noninvasive mechanical ventilation support [nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP), nonsynchronized nasal intermittent mandatory ventilation (NIMV)] and in some cases invasive (intubated) mechanical ventilation may be required. Reducing pain and stress in mechanically ventilated infants is important for the prevention of complications that may occur in the future-early period and for recover process. While providing standard health care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), sources of pain and stress should be identified and controlled. It is necessary to minimize the interventions that will cause pain and stress and to ensure that the newborn copes with the pain. In order to relieve pain and stress, various pharmacological (opioid, non-opioid analgesics) and non-pharmacological (breast milk, pacifier, kangaroo care, flexion posture, swaddling etc.) within the framework of family-centered care and individualized developmental care methods should be used. Pain control is a priority in neonatal nursing care, and it is the nurses; responsibility to select and implement a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce the level of pain. A limited number of studies have been found examining the effects of therapeutic touch and mothers voice on pain and comfort level in newborns, as a behavioral intervention, on relieving stress of body positioning in premature newborns who underwent nCPAP. There was no study found that the swaddling method applied during the procedure in patients followed up on nCPAP had an effect on reducing the stress level of newborns.
The objective of this study was conducted to examine the reasons for patients' utilization of the emergency department and the rates of readmission in the first 90 days after surgery.
There is no study has been found to examine the effect of geriatric massage applied to the elderly with type 2 diabetes on diabetes symptoms and blood parameters. This study was planned as a pretest-posttest randomized controlled single-center study to examine the effect of geriatric massage on diabetes symptoms and blood parameters in the elderly with type 2 diabetes. 60 elderly people who type 2 diabetes who applied to the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Bayburt State Hospital in the city center of Bayburt will the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes will form the sample of the study. The sample will consist of two groups, the geriatric massage group and the control group. Data will be collected with the "Elderly Information Form", "Standardized Mini-Mental Test", "Diabetes Symptoms Checklist Scale", "Blood Parameters Monitoring Form". "Geriatric Massage" will be applied as an intervention. The geriatric massage group will receive 20 minutes (10 minutes on each foot) foot massage and 10 minutes back massage, two days a week for eight weeks. The control group will receive the institution's standard of care. Frequency, number, mean, Student's t test and/or Mann-Whitney U test, ANOVA and/or Kruskal-Wallis test, Chi-square test and/or Correlation and Regression Analysis will be used in the analysis of the data. As a result of this study, it is anticipated that the effects of geriatric massage on diabetes symptoms and blood parameters in the elderly with Type 2 diabetes will be determined and these effects will be included in evidence-based guidelines.
