View clinical trials related to Motor Control.
Filter by:Many studies have related the presence of dynamic valgus with several musculoskeletal injuries of the hip, knee and ankle. The weakness of the hip abductors is cited as one of the factors linked to this poor dynamic alignment of the lower limb, however, motor control can also be one of the factors responsible for the poor alignment of the lower limbs.
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are the most common traumatic knee ligament injuries. This lesion has a devastating influence on patients' activity levels and quality of life. ACL injuries are most frequent between the ages of 15 and 45 years. Individuals who choose conservative treatment must undergo physical therapy to strengthen muscles around the knee, notably the quadriceps femoris and hamstring muscles. It had been described that in absence of surgical treatment, the knee remains unstable and vulnerable to injury having a much poorer prognosis. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of neuromuscular taping (kinesiotape) compared to placebo in patients with non-operated anterior cruciate ligament rupture.
This study aims to better understand how people with Parkinson's control reaching movements. Specifically, we are asking how these individuals respond to different environmental perturbations. Testing includes reaching movements made within a virtual reality set-up.
A cross-sectional study of Reach-to-Grasp (RTG) movement of the upper limb of stroke patients vs. healthy controls. 30 stroke patients and 30 healthy controls will take place in a cross-sectional study. 3D kinematics and force regulation measures of RTG to a full and an empty cup at three different table heights will be measured. Motion analysis will include joint position and inter-limb coordination, velocity, and smoothness of movement. Data collected from the force sensor embaded in the cup will include peak force, time to peak force and variability in force production.
