NCT ID: NCT05026437 Completed - Mortality Clinical Trials

CASUS vs. APACHE II in Predicting Mortality After Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

CASUS
Start date: January 2, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The study seeks to determine the value of CASUS in predicting mortality as compared with APACHE II scoring system among patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting.

NCT ID: NCT04969107 Recruiting - Recurrence Clinical Trials

Abdominal or Transanal TME for Rectal Cancer Therapy

Start date: January 1, 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study assessed whether transanal TME in patients with rectal cancer is superior to open, laparoscopic, and robotic TME (abdominal TME (abTME)) regarding oncological outcome, postoperative morbidity and 90-day mortality.

NCT ID: NCT04900610 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for End Stage Renal Disease

The Effect of Vitamin K2 Supplementation on Arterial Stifness and Cardiovascular Events in PEritonial DIAlysis

VIKIPEDIA
Start date: September 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

VIKIPEDIA is a multi-centre, placebo-controlled, randomized, open-label intervention clinical trial on Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) patients. At baseline the investigators will recruit End-Stage Renal Disease patients undergoing PD and randomize them to either daily per os supplementation of 1mg menaquinone-7 or placebo for 1.5 year. The investigators will study the effect of vitamin K2 supplementation (through normalization of dp-ucMGP) on arterial stifness and the occurence of cardiovascular events. The investigators will also cosider as secondary endpoints, mortality, central aortic blood pressure and indices of 24h-ambulatory blood pressure.

NCT ID: NCT04893031 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Effect of Tocilizumab on Intensive Care Patients With COVID-19 Pneumonia, a Retrospective Cohort Study

Start date: March 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Although its safety and efficacy in the COVID-19 patient population are still unclear, tocilizumab is one of treatment. Tocilizumab is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved IL-6 receptor antagonist widely used to treat CRS secondary to the chimeric antigen receptor T cell. In this study the investigators will evaluate the efficacy of Tocilizumab, an IL-6 antagonist administered in the early period in intensive care patients with COVID-19 pneumonia followed by hypoxic and systemic inflammation is predominant, but who do not support mechanical ventilation.

NCT ID: NCT04826848 Completed - Pneumonia Clinical Trials

Lactate Clearance in Hospital-acquired Pneumonia

Start date: June 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

There is no clear consensus on the use of pneumonia severity index (PSI) developed for community-acquired pneumonia in hospital-acquired pneumonia cases. In another aspect, PSI is a relatively difficult scoring system that includes many parameters. This study evaluated whether lactate clearance could be used as a mortality marker instead of PSI in hospital-acquired pneumonia. As a result, lactate clearance was lower in the mortal group and when the diagnostic statistics were evaluated, it was seen that the sensitivity and specificity rates were significantly higher. In conclusion, lactate clearance has been evaluated as a strong predictor of mortality in hospital-acquired pneumonia.

NCT ID: NCT04800770 Recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

The Effect of COVID-19 Patients' Serum Phosphate Level on Mortality in ICU

Start date: March 3, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The investigators aimed to investigate the relationship between phosphate level and mortality using the 4C Mortality Score in COVID-19 patients who were followed up in the intensive care unit.

NCT ID: NCT04792736 Completed - Mortality Clinical Trials

Prognostic Value of Lactates in ICU

Start date: June 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

he aim of this prospective, analytic trial was to evaluate the accuracy of blood lactates levels in predicting mortality in ICU patients.

NCT ID: NCT04778735 Completed - Clinical trials for Liver Transplantation

Investigation of Mortality, Morbidity and Risk Factors After Pediatric Liver Transplantation

Start date: February 24, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Department of Organ Transplantation in Memorial Hospitals has started Pediatric Liver Transplantation Program in 2016. As of the end of 2020, we have performed 169 pediatric liver transplantation. The aim of this study is to investigate the overall mortality, morbidity and risk factors for adverse outcomes in pediatric liver transplantation. The patients' records will be retrospectively scanned and the data will be gathered.

NCT ID: NCT04774991 Recruiting - Mortality Clinical Trials

Azithromycin for Child Survival in Niger: Delivery Trial

AVENIR
Start date: June 28, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This cluster-randomized trial aims to compare the impact of different delivery approaches to azithromycin distribution on coverage, costs, and feasibility outcomes. The investigators hypothesize that door-to-door delivery will have higher coverage and costs and similar feasibility and acceptability compared to fixed-point delivery.

NCT ID: NCT04750915 Active, not recruiting - Cancer Clinical Trials

NIH-AARP Diet and Health Secondary Research Study Based on OH95CN025 Data

Start date: February 9, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Background: The NIH and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) conducted a Diet and Health Study. It studied the links between diet, cancer, and cause of death in a group of middle-aged people in the U.S. Researchers want to learn more about how diet and lifestyle can affect cancer and mortality. Objective: To clarify links between diet, lifestyle, cancer, death, and chronic diseases. Eligibility: AARP members ages 50 to 71 who took part in study #OH95CN025 and lived in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, Louisiana, Atlanta, or Detroit in 1995 1996. Design: This study will use existing data and samples. Participants will not be contacted. Participants personal data, like name, date of birth, and address, will be used. This data will be kept private. Their data and samples will get a unique ID. Data from other follow-up studies will be used. Cancer outcome data will be obtained from the 8 sample areas. Many participants have moved to Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Data will be obtained from those states as well. Cause of death and date of death will be obtained from the National Death Index. Cheek swab samples were gathered from 2004 to 2005. They will be used to study the oral microbiome. The University of Washington (UW) will be added as a study site. UW will study air pollution. The process of linking with the Virtual Pooled Registry Cancer Linkage System will be explored. It uses one system. Right now, 11 state systems are used to get and link data. Paper records will be stored in locked file rooms. Electronic data will be stored on secure servers.
