Filter by:There is currently limited research that addresses the unique medication safety and family planning needs among women of reproductive age with psychiatric conditions. The study will research the feasibility of a novel individualized 1-on-1 counseling session at the Gifford Clinic in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSD that will help women in this population better understand: 1) which of their medications are safe to use in pregnancy, 2) provide education regarding the importance of using contraception and which contraceptive choices are available to them, and 3) raise awareness of any drug-drug interactions that may exist between their medications and their chosen method of contraception. Patients will be given questionnaire to assess their contraceptive utilization. They will also be given a before and after quiz to allow for an objective measure of the patient's increase in knowledge regarding medication safety and contraceptive choices as a result of the investigators intervention.

And we will investigate whether web-based cognitive behavioral therapy is more effective than supportive psychotherapy for treating depressed adolescents. The purpose of this study is to find the incidence of mental disorders during different periods of pregnancy and its associated factors and consequences.
This study is a comparison of client outcomes in two different types of psychotherapy treatment. In one condition clients will receive treatment-as-usual (TAU); the therapy that they would normally receive. In the other condition clients will receive treatment-as-usual but in addition their therapist will have access to empirical feedback on client progress. Clients in the feedback condition will fill out weekly online questionnaires, and their therapists will have access to a website that feeds back the results of these questionnaires. The purpose of the study is to understand the impact of providing such feedback to therapists. Participating therapists at 4 sites will offer all of their clients the opportunity to participate, and participating clients will be randomly assigned to either condition. This should result in a representative sample of client seeking treatment at these 4 Chicago-area clinics.
