Filter by:Collaboration is established between Turkish Holistic & Integrative Medicine Association and Traditional & Complementary Medicine Society of Istanbul Medipol University. Study is carried out on idiopathic granulomatous mastitis patients who are followed in the Breast Clinic at Istanbul Medipol University Hospital for between September 2015 and September 2019. Hirudotherapy and medical cupping therapy were applied as traditional and complementary medicine integratively. Following initial radiological imaging, microbiological- and histological testing, side effects and relapses are analyzed. Follow-up examination is also carried out at the end of the treatment, which consisted of clinical breast exam and radiological imaging.
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of consumption during pregnancy and the lactation period of the probiotic L. fermentum CECT5716 on the incidence of mastitis. Bacterial load and immunological parameters in breast milk, parameters related to breastfeeding as well as health parameters of the mother and baby will also be evaluated.
This study evaluates the clinical response rate of local steroids in the treatment of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis in female adults. Half of the participants will receive local injection combined with topical steroids and the other half will receive topical steroids mono-therapy.
The object of the study is to evaluate the effect of Pugongying (Herba Taraxaci) Granules to reduce the application of antibiotics for women with acute mastitis.
A single-arm, proof-of-concept trial has shown the safety and efficacy of ductal lavage as a treatment for idiopathic granulomatous mastitis patients (Manuscript accepted in Journal of Surgical Research 2018). In this multicenter, randomized, open-labeled, non-inferior trial, the investigators are going to enroll eligible granulomatous mastitis patients and randomized them into ductal lavage versus. corticosteroids therapy group. The primary endpoint of this study is the complete clinical response rate at 1 year after the enrollment. The aim of this study is to provide evidence for the management of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis patients .
This study evaluates the clinical response rate of topical steroids in the treatment of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis in female adults. Half of the participants will receive topical steroid and the other half will receive local wide surgical excision.
RATIONALE and PURPOSE: For non-lactational mastitis patients pathologically diagnosis of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM) or periductal mastitis (PD), the investigators hypothesized that ductal lavage is able to relieve the symptoms and achieve complete response, with shorter recovery time than oral intake of antibiotics or corticosteroids treatments. This single arm, observational, case series, pilot study is going to evaluate the effectiveness of ductal lavage in patients with non-lactational IGM or PD.
This study takes place in rural Mam-Mayan communities of Guatemala characterized by high rates of childhood stunting. It aims to characterize women's exposure to nutrition, infection and psychosocial stressors vs. resilience factors, to evaluate the cumulative impact of maternal-level factors (nutritional, infectious, psychosocial), social factors (autonomy, social support, domestic violence), and household factors (socioeconomic status, food security) on early infant growth, and to evaluate whether maternal cortisol may be a mediator in the vertical transmission of stress.
The aim of this study was to retrospectively review the granulomatous mastitis and evaluated current approach and treatment. HYPOTHESIS Although there is no common protocol for the treatment and management process of GM, the ternary treatment (medical treatment following by surgical procedure, Steroid+Antibiotic and surgical procedure, respectively) is considered as the most successful treatment approach.
To evaluate the effect of the consumption of Lactobacillus fermentum CECT5716 on mastitis incidence.
