NCT ID: NCT06279260 Not yet recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

National Robotics-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy Database

Start date: April 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Surgical notes are detailed reports written by surgeons during and after surgeries. These notes cover everything from the techniques, instruments used, any issues with the surgical procedure and post-surgical care for the patient. This information is a treasure trove for researchers because they can study it to understand how surgeries go, what works best, and how certain treatments affect patients. By looking closely at these notes, researchers can find patterns and trends, helping them in understanding what makes surgeries successful and identify the best ways to perform them. This information is crucial for creating guidelines based on solid evidence. Also, these surgical notes are a goldmine for looking back at past surgeries to see how they have affected patients in the long run. The real power for research comes when we combine these surgical notes within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and research databases. This makes it easy to collect information systematically, making it simpler for researchers to study a large number of cases. Unfortunately, not many people have paid attention to this idea for a long time, leading to big gaps in the data collection. To address this issue, we aim to create a database that collects information from surgical notes effortlessly. This includes details about how surgeons are trained and how they progress. It's important to make sure that doctors work aligns with research - which is the best way to address data collection issues. This data can also help record different technical aspects of surgery and different surgeons' learning curve, making it easier to compare and improve training. Thus, we aim to standardise notes that are the same across different hospitals conducting robotic-assisted surgeries for prostatectomy.

NCT ID: NCT06038890 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Prostate Hyperplasia

The Learning Curve of Transurethral Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate, Prospective Assessment

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Despite the high-quality evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP), wide adoption of the procedure is hindered by learning difficulties. Veil-sparing HOLEP was popularized with a standardized approach to learning. Prospective multicenter assessment of the learning curve of HoLEP through a novel technique with structured learning protocol. Learning outcome measures will be assessed against time and number of performed cases of new learners in a multicenter study.

NCT ID: NCT05773547 Recruiting - Learning Curve Clinical Trials

Investigation of the Learning Effect in the Measurement of Circulation in Calf Muscle Using MSOT

Start date: January 17, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to investigate the learning effect in the measurement of micro-circulation in healthy participants using MSOT. The main question it aims to answer are: If there if a learning effect in MSOT measurement. How long does it takes for the trainees to reach the professional level. Is there a difference between different learning methods? Participants will have to lie on the examination bed while investigator making measurements 7 times in a row on one single location.

NCT ID: NCT05201534 Recruiting - Child Development Clinical Trials

Interventions in Mathematics and Cognitive Skills

Start date: May 5, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate neurocognitive mechanisms underlying response to intervention aimed at enhancing, and remediating weaknesses in, numerical skills in children, including those with mathematical learning disabilities (MLD).

NCT ID: NCT04760106 Recruiting - Learning Curve Clinical Trials

Learning Curves of Gastric Ultrasound for Novel

Start date: January 15, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Various studies have shown that gastric sonography can reliably provide information on both qualitative (nature of content) and quantitative (volume) aspects of gastric content. A recent study has suggested that a minimum of 33 scans is needed to achieve a 95% success rate in the qualitative assessment of gastric ultrasound. However, as the risk and severity of aspiration are also influenced by gastric volume, further study concerning quantitative assessment is warranted.

NCT ID: NCT04435496 Terminated - Caesarean Section Clinical Trials

Study to Evaluate the Learning Curve to Anchor GYN-CS® Device

GYN-CS-106
Start date: May 5, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

GYN-CS® is a new concept in intrauterine device technology. It is fixed to the uterine fundus, is frameless and entirely flexible. The GYN-CS® 3 has a lifespan of 3 years and GYN-CS® 10 has lifespan of 10 years, both used in this study. The primary objectives are: Analyse the learning curve of the surgeon and the ease of insertion of the device.

NCT ID: NCT04388423 Enrolling by invitation - Simulation Training Clinical Trials

Study on Application of Simulated Training in Ultrasound Guided Transversus Abdominis Plane Block

Start date: May 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

With the development of society and the enhancement of people's awareness of law and self-protection, it is necessary to use simulation technology to create a simulated human and clinical environment to replace the traditional teaching of clinical operation on real patients. So simulation teaching is more and more important in medical education. However, simulation teaching is in the ascendant in China, especially in the ultrasound-guided nerve block, limited by the lack of full simulation of puncture model, the simulation training of ultrasound-guided nerve block is not carried out much. Therefore, this study uses simulation training to carry out ultrasound-guided horizontal abdominal muscle block teaching, in order to explore an effective way of ultrasound-guided nerve block teaching.
