NCT ID: NCT00027573 Completed - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy Followed by Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Unresectable Kidney Cancer

Start date: October 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy used to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy followed by donor peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have metastatic or unresectable kidney cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00026884 Recruiting - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

Collection of Serum and Tissue Samples From Patients With Biopsy-Proved or Suspected Malignant Disease

Start date: March 12, 1998
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Selected patients suspected of having or with prior biopsy proof of malignant disease will be seen in the Urologic Oncology Branch, NCI. Blood samples may be collected at the time of the initial visit and at periodic intervals during the course of the disease. These samples will be stored in the tissue bank of the Urologic Oncology Branch. Aliquots of malignant and normal tissue will be collected at the time of surgery and stored in the tissue bank, Urologic Oncology Branch, NCI. These materials will be used in the research efforts of the Urologic Oncology Branch, NCI....

NCT ID: NCT00025519 Withdrawn - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Recurrent Kidney Cancer

Start date: June 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy used to kill cancer cells. Sometimes the transplanted cells can be rejected by the body's tissues. Mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus, and donor white blood cells may prevent this from happening. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy followed by peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have metastatic or recurrent kidney cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00025376 Completed - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

PS-341 in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Start date: October 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which regimen of PS-341 is more effective in treating metastatic kidney cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of PS-341 in treating patients who have metastatic kidney cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00025103 Active, not recruiting - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy Followed by Surgery and Radiation Therapy With or Without Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Wilms' Tumor or Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney

Start date: May 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplant may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well chemotherapy followed by surgery and radiation therapy with or without stem cell transplant work in treating patients with relapsed or refractory Wilms' tumor or clear cell sarcoma of the kidney.

NCT ID: NCT00024388 Active, not recruiting - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Start date: April 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of DHA-paclitaxel in treating patients who have locally advanced, metastatic, or unresectable kidney cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00024258 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Arsenic Trioxide in Treating Patients With Advanced Neuroblastoma or Other Childhood Solid Tumors

Start date: March 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of arsenic trioxide in treating children who have advanced neuroblastoma or other solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00024063 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

SU006668 in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs such as SU006668 may stop the growth of solid tumors by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of SU006668 in treating patients who have advanced solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00021021 Completed - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

RPI.4610 in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Start date: September 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: RPI.4610 may stop the growth of metastatic kidney cancer by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of RPI.4610 in treating patients who have metastatic kidney cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00020540 Completed - Kidney Cancer Clinical Trials

Biological Therapy in Treating Patients With Metastatic Melanoma or Metastatic Kidney Cancer

Start date: March 2001
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as flt3L and CD40-ligand use different ways to stimulate the immune system and stop cancer cells from growing. Biological therapy may be an effective treatment for metastatic melanoma and metastatic kidney cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of flt3L combined with CD40-ligand in treating patients who have metastatic melanoma or metastatic kidney cancer.
