Filter by:Neuroendocrine cancer is an unusual disease and often goes undetected by routine imaging. The 68Ga-DOTATATE PET Scan is a novel scanning method that may have improved sensitivity and resolution specifically for neuroendocrine tumors. Patients with neuroendocrine tumors will be imaged with this agent and it will be compared to conventional imaging methods to determine the safety and efficacy of this radiopharmaceutical.
This study will estimate the treatment effect of everolimus in combination with pasireotide LAR relative to everolimus alone on progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with advanced progressive PNET
RATIONALE: Gathering medical information and collecting and storing samples of blood and tissue to test in the laboratory may help doctors develop better ways to screen people at risk for pancreatic cancer or other pancreatic disorders in the future. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is collecting medical information and tissue samples from patients with pancreatic cancer or other pancreatic disorders.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Infusing doxorubicin beads into the liver, and blocking blood flow to the tumor, may keep doxorubicin near the tumor and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects of doxorubicin beads and to see how well they work in treating patients with unresectable liver metastases from neuroendocrine tumors.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as capecitabine, streptozocin, and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether giving capecitabine together with streptozocin is more effective with or without cisplatin in treating neuroendocrine tumors. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying giving capecitabine together with streptozocin to see how well it works compared with or without cisplatin in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic neuroendocrine tumors.
RATIONALE: Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well internal radiation therapy works in treating patients with liver metastases from neuroendocrine tumors.
RATIONALE: Questionnaires that measure quality of life may help doctors identify the effects of treatment and improve the ability to plan treatment for patients with gastrointestinal-related neuroendocrine tumors. PURPOSE: This phase IV clinical trial is studying how well a disease-specific questionnaire works in assessing the quality of life of patients with gastrointestinal-related neuroendocrine tumors.
RATIONALE: Nelfinavir may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of nelfinavir in treating patients with metastatic, refractory, or recurrent solid tumors.
The purpose of this study is to decide if a medicine that slows growth of new blood vessels can be give after the embolization procedure to prevent or delay new growth of blood vessels to tumors.
RATIONALE: AMG 706 and octreotide may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well AMG 706 and octreotide work in treating patients with low-grade neuroendocrine tumors.
