Filter by:This prospective observational study was conducted to assess pain using NOL index under locoregional anesthesia for orthopedic surgery of the upper limb. We included 50 consecutive adult patients scheduled for orthopedic surgery of the upper limb under locoregional anesthesia. The locoregional anesthesia was performed under ultrasound, with or without neurostimulation. Intraoperative pain is assessed using NOL index monitoring, ALGISCORE and Numerical Scale, and second point study is the midazolam and propofol requirement.
The objective of this prospective interventional monocentric clinical investigation is to evaluate the feasibility and performance of the flexible high-density SOFT ECoG electrode grids, manufactured by Neurosoft Bioelectronics SA (test device; TD), in comparison to regular high-density electrode grids (ADTech, CE-marked) (control device; CD) routinely used at the investigation site during epilepsy surgery. Subjects will undergo ≥ 2 additional intracranial recordings pre- and post-resection with the TD next to the standard recordings with the CD during ECoG-tailored epilepsy surgery.
This is a unicentric, prospective randomised trial that aims to evaluate the role of intra-operative monitoring of nociception through SPI (Surgical Pleth Index) in guiding analgesia and reducing opioid consumption in obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery. We aim to enrol 40 patients having laparoscopic gastric sleeve surgery in the Cluj-Napoca County Hospital. They will be randomised into two groups, one with opioid administration during surgery guided by SPI, and the other one guided by anesthetist experience. We will monitor opioid consumption, pain scores during the first 90 minutes post-operatively, hemodinamic events during surgery and the duration between reversal of neuromuscular block and extubation.
The aim of this observational comparison study is to compare the HR and respiratory RR of intraoperative surgical patients simultaneously recorded by standard intraoperative monitors and the ATLASense RAPHAEL PolyMonitor. A second aim is to determine the extent of data loss and data gap duration, and validate the PolyMonitor alert system for tachycardia and bradycardia. Additional parameters of non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) and body temperature will also be compared between the PolyMonitor and standard intraoperative monitors. Finally, this study will provide insight into the logistics of intraoperative use of the PolyMonitor.
In this study, the EEG information of patients was collected by different BIS electrodes, in order to compare the quality of EEG signals obtained by subdermal needle electrodes and the original BIS sensors, and try to use primitive EEG signals to develop a new calculation of needle electrode to monitor the depth of anesthesia.
This intraoperative parathyroid gland auxiliary recognition system uses the principle of parathyroid gland autofluorescence to assist surgeons in accurately identifying and protecting parathyroid glands during surgery, reducing the possibility of postoperative hypoparathyroidism. This study will explore the protective effect of the parathyroid gland auxiliary recognition instrument on parathyroid function during thyroid malignant tumor surgery through reasonable grouping.
Pleth Variability Index (PVI) is a variable that is derived from photoplethysmography (PPG) signal. It is used as a surrogate for intravascular volume status intraoperatively. PVI can have significant amount of baseline variability which appears to oscillate at a very low frequency (5-10 minute cycles). This study aims to investigate the origin of these baseline oscillations.
The investigators measured changes in cerebral oxygen saturation (rSO2) and MMSE scores after retrobulbar block performed with levobupivacaine and lidocaine in patients undergoing vitreoretinal surgery.A total of 66 patients over the age of 60 undergoing vitreoretinal surgery with a total duration of less than 1 hour were included in this prospective, double-blinded study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups: group L (5ml, 2% lidocaine) and group LB (5ml, 0.5% levobupivacaine). Bilateral rSO2 measurements were recorded before the retrobulbar block and at 1-5 minutes post-block, during the procedure, and at 10-40 minutes post-op. MMSE was performed preoperatively and postoperatively in order to evaluate short term cognitive function. Sensory and motor block durations, pain, akinesia and conjunctival feeling scores, patient-surgeon satisfaction, and complications were also recorded.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the rate of new or worsening neurologic deficits and/or radiculopathy following lumbar or cervical surgery in light of IOM using neurological testing (motor and sensory) in the optimal management of the surgical patient.
