Filter by:Migraine is prevalent in 10-12% of the population. It involves the development of a cranial perivascular neurogenic inflammation. Recent information suggests that migraine might be a risk factor to stroke. The possible mechanisms that might relate migraine and stroke are: 1. Migraineous infarction 2. A primary endothelial disorder. 3. Genetic relation 4. An ongoing inflammatory process. C reactive protein (CRP) is a sensitive marker for an inflammatory process. The data on the relation of migraine to inflammation is limited. The aim of the current study is to assess inflammatory factors as possible markers for migraine.
COPD is a progressive pulmonary disease that is characterized by an inflammatory process in the airways and the lungs which leads to progressive airway obstruction. The inflammation is associated with tissue loss and remodelling. The investigators hypothesized that doxycycline reduces neutrophilic airway inflammation in patients with COPD. Therefore the investigators will conduct a randomized trial of doxycycline in 30 patients.
The purpose of this study is to examine the anti inflammatory effect of high complex carbohydrate diet, supplemented by omega-3 fatty acids.
The purpose of this study is to explore the severity of malnutrition and inflammation in Taiwanese hemodialysis patients.
