Filter by:Background: Genes tell the body and its cells how to work. Familial platelet disease (FPD) or FPD with associated malignancies (FPDMM) is caused by a variant in the gene RUNX1. People with this disease may have problems with their blood and bleed for a long time when they are injured. Researchers want to learn more about RUNX1 variants and FPD. Objective: To learn more about FPD in people with RUNX1 variants to lead to better diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. Eligibility: People any age with a suspected or confirmed RUNX1 variant People who have a family member with the variant Design: All participants will be screened with a phone call and a blood, saliva, or cheek cell sample. Participants with a suspected or confirmed variant will have 1 visit. It will last about 2 days. They will then have visits at least once a year. Visits will include: - Medical history and physical exam - Blood tests or saliva sample - Possible skin biopsy: A small piece of the participant s skin will be removed. - Bone marrow aspiration or biopsy: The participant s bone marrow will be removed by needle from a large bone such as the hip bone. - Possible apheresis: Blood will be removed from the body and certain blood cells will be taken out. The rest of the blood is returned to the body. Between visits, participants with a suspected or confirmed variant will keep a diary of disease symptoms and signs. Samples from all participants may be used for genetic testing

The purpose of this study is to determine the recommended phase 2 dose of the drug Vorinostat in children, adolescents and young adults following allogeneic blood or marrow transplant (BMT) and determine whether the addition of Vorinostat to the standard graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis will reduce the incidence of GVHD.
This randomized controlled trial aims to investigate the effectiveness of a mind-body group program as a supprtivemanagement strategy for fatigue in patients with malignant hematological diseases.
This study evaluates the effects of a whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) training combined with individualized nutritional support on skeletal muscle mass, body composition, muscle strength/function, quality of life, fatigue, pain and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with hematological malignancies 4-6 weeks before and 4-6 weeks after undergoing stem cell Transplantation. Within this context, this study also investigates the effect of the nutrition and exercise intervention on the period of hospitalization, period of White blood cell recovery and frequency and severity of complications (mucositis, Graft-versus-Host-Disease, infections) after stem cell Transplantation as consequences of the therapeutic immune Suppression.
A total of 12 subjects will be recruited for participation in this study. 6 subjects will receive re-infusion of autologous blood, and 6 subjects (anemic patients) will receive a homologous transfusion.

In terms of public health, this approach, facilitating the transition of the treatment in the complete remission, could be subjected and so improve the quality of the services of support proposed until then. If the hypotheses of research see each other confirmed, this device coaching of sport-inspired of the patients in remission could then be transferable in other oncologic fields.
This randomized phase II trial includes a blood stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor to treat blood cancer. The treatment also includes chemotherapy drugs, but in lower doses than conventional (standard) stem cell transplants. The researchers will compare two different drug combinations used to reduce the risk of a common but serious complication called "graft versus host disease" (GVHD) following the transplant. Two drugs, cyclosporine (CSP) and sirolimus (SIR), will be combined with either mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) or post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy). This part of the transplant procedure is the main research focus of the study.
