Filter by:Dental implants have been on the market for several years and they are routinely used to replace single/multiple missing teeth with a high success rate. However, there is still a limited number of studies comparing the influence of timing of implant placement on wound healing. In addition, there is no data available on the signaling pathways and the expression of healing biomarkers involved in the early stages of osseointegration after immediate implant placement (IP) or delayed implant placement (DP). The primary objective of this study is to describe changes in the expression of inflammatory, angiogenesis and osseous biomarkers of saliva at 1, 3, 7, 15 and 30 days and of PICF at 3, 7, 15 and 30 days after immediate implant placement (IP) compared with delayed placement (DP).
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare, the effect of letting the xenogeneic bone graft exposed to the oral environment or seal off the graft with a collagen matrix. Them main questions it aims to answer are: - The enhancement of soft tissue healing during the initial phases following immediate implant placement. - The secondary aim is to evaluate the dimensional alterations in hard tissues at immediately placed implants and different biomaterial protocol. It were selected patients with indication of flapless extraction in posterior teeth, which was placed immediate implant (n=28) and gap filling with deproteinized bovine bone mineral (Geistlich Bio-Oss®). In this study, participants were stratified into two randomized blocks, each corresponding to a distinct surgical technique: left exposed the graft to the oral environment or coverage with a collagen matrix (Geistlich Mucograft®). - Previously the extraction was performed the measurement of the keratinized gingiva, and after 04 months of implant placement. - The soft tissue healing was evaluated on days 02, 07, 30 days; by means of a blue-stained solution (methylene blue 0.05%) and standardized photograph. - In the same date from different healing times it was performed immunoenzymatic analysis of the levels of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), IL-1β (interleukin-1β) and FGF2 (fibroblast growth factor 2). - It was also be performed cone beam computed tomography images quantifying the soft and hard tissues thickness of the facial and lingual bone wall. The clinical trial examiner was blinded during the study period.
Postoperative incision healing (Postoperative incision non - ranging) occurred in the surgical incision more than 2 weeks after the operation is still not healing wounds. At present, direct suture, autologous skin graft transplantation, conventional dressing change and negative pressure wound therapy are still the first-line treatment options for postoperative wound nonunion. However, the wound healing time is long and the wound healing rate is low. Autologous epidermal basal cell suspension is derived from the basal layer of the epidermis and contains 1-10% epidermal stem cells. Therefore, we plan to carry out a multi-center, prospective randomized controlled clinical trial, aiming to verify whether this technique can promote wound healing.
The design is a single blinded, dual comparative study of ultrasound versus micro-CT/LASCA in one study group. Up to a total of 140 subjects registered will be recruited. Subjects who are treatment planned for extraction of a hopeless tooth and socket augmentation with bone graft and are planned for a dental implant surgery. The socket will be evaluated before the extraction and multi-time points during healing until an implant is placed with various evaluation tools, including ultrasound.
The goal of this interventional, real world data study is to evaluate the impact of preservatives on the post-cataract ocular surface. The main question is to learn about an effect of preservatives on the eye surface. The study aims to answer some important questions: - if the usage of preservatives has an impact on the eye surface healing process after cataract surgery - if patient comfort and quality of life improve more or more rapidly with preservatives-free eye drops. Participants will be asked to undergo standard procedure of peri-cataract surgery care and in addition to survey about the ocular surface state. Researchers will compare group that takes preservatives-free dexamethasone 0.1% with standard dexamethasone 0.01% solution to see if post-surgery eye surface healing properties differ from both groups.
This study will examine whether adding an amnion-chorion membrane on top of the traditionally used collagen plug will lead to more bone formation compared to the collagen plug only.
Previous studies have shown that application of hyaluronic acid preparations to wounds of the skin and mucosa have a beneficial effect. There is a lack of studies showing the effect of applying hyaluronic acid preparations to treat damaged nipple skin in breastfeeding mothers. This study aims to determine the effect of applying a hyaluronic acid preparation to damaged nipple skin in breastfeeding women.
In our study, three different medicaments were evaluated in terms of postoperative complications after free gingival grafting (FGG).
This study aimed to investigate the outcomes of patients who underwent UC as the primary intervention for simple or complex SPD
The purpose of this study is to assess healing after tooth extraction with simultaneous socket augmentation (bone grafting during the same appointment as the extraction) when the surgeon uses a surgical microscope, compared to when the surgeon uses dental loupes (magnifiers that are mounted on the surgeon's glasses). These devices magnify and shine light on the area where the surgeon operates.
