NCT ID: NCT05458817 Recruiting - Migraine Clinical Trials

Digital-technology Based Interventions on Treatment of Migraine.

Migrevention
Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main aim of the research: To develop an interdisciplinary treatment platform based on digital technology and test the operation and effectiveness of digital interventions in comparison with conventional multidisciplinary treatment or treatment standards (incl. Paper diary, nurse counseling, physiotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy).

NCT ID: NCT05418218 Recruiting - Fibromyalgia Clinical Trials

International Headache Registry Study

IHRS
Start date: July 12, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In the International Headache and Vertigo Registration Study, patients aged 4-99 years with headache (primary headache and secondary headache such as migraine and tension type headache), vertigo (vertigo diseases such as vestibular migraine) and chronic pain (fibromyalgia and other diseases) were collected. The biomarkers, imaging features, right-to-left shunt of the heart (lung), genetic characteristics, treatment, and outcome (in relation to other diseases) of headache-related diseases were studied, and long-term follow-up was planned.

NCT ID: NCT05415020 Recruiting - Migraine Clinical Trials

Determining the Utility of a Behavioral Intervention in Chronic Migraine

RLB
Start date: June 29, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This proposal will involve a pilot study to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and outcomes of a lifestyle behavior protocol in managing chronic migraine. Additionally, the proposal will investigate biomolecules that are uniquely involved in chronic migraine patients who respond to the protocol. Successful completion of this proposal will inform the design of a future full-scale behavioral clinical trial to control chronic migraine.

NCT ID: NCT05414513 Recruiting - Chronic Headache Clinical Trials

The Turkish Fear of Pain Questionnaire

Start date: September 8, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Children's chronic pain is a significant condition that affects roughly 25% of children, with approximately 3% of them requiring intense pain therapy. In the adult literature, various scales have been established to assess fear of pain. When these scales are studied, fear of pain has been shown to have a role in adult chronic pain research, but this topic has gotten less attention in pediatric chronic pain research. The Fear of Pain Questionnaire for Children (FOPQ-C) is a questionnaire that addresses this knowledge gap. The purpose of this study is to determine the validity and clinical utility of the Fear of Pain Questionnaire for Children (FOPQ-C) Scale in the Turkish community.

NCT ID: NCT05377437 Recruiting - Migraine Clinical Trials

Natural Language Processing for Headache Medicine

Start date: August 28, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Headache disorders are diagnosed by clinical history taking and applying the criteria provided within the International Classification of Headache Disorders Third Edition (ICHD-3). To help patients and physicians in making the correct diagnosis, digital technologies based on natural language processing (NLP) approaches may help to identify headache disorders within naturally patient-provided speech. The research aims to develop statistical models through machine-learning NLP applications for the accurate and precise classification of headache disorders with headache expert given ICHD-3 diagnosis as the gold standard. Furthermore, the research also aims to develop statistical models through machine-learning NLP applications for the estimation of impact scores derived from validated headache questionnaires by using texts as input. Patients from the tertiary headache clinic will be recruited to provide oral narrative textual descriptions of their headache attack characteristics and burden of disease related to their headache disorders. The goal of the research is to develop accessible, evidence-based digital medical tools as low-effort applications for the correct diagnosis of headache disorders and estimation of burden of disease due to headache disorders.

NCT ID: NCT05337033 Recruiting - Chronic Migraine Clinical Trials

Cannabis for Chronic Headaches in Adolescents: the CAN-CHA Trial

CAN-CHA
Start date: November 27, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Chronic headaches are a major cause of disability among adolescents. Cannabis products have supported the management of headaches in adults and may play a role in pediatric chronic pain. We propose a multisite, open-label, tolerability study conducted across three centers in Canada of Cannabidiol-enriched Cannabis Herbal Extract in adolescents (ages 14 to 17 years old) with chronic headaches. The study includes a one month baseline assessment, four months of escalating treatment doses and a weaning period. Our primary outcome is tolerability defined as the number and severity of reported adverse events.

NCT ID: NCT05306899 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Daily Headache

Multi-center RCT of IV Ketamine Efficacy and Safety in Chronic Daily Headaches

KetHead
Start date: June 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Chronic daily headaches (CDH) poses a significant burden on patients, healthcare systems and the society. Intravenous (IV) ketamine infusion, an intervention that is widely available and scalable, can treat CDH by reversing receptor-mediated sensitization. This study is a multicenter, placebo-controlled, parallel group randomized trial with blinding of participants and observers with the goal of comprehensively assessing the effect of high-dose IV ketamine infusion (1 mg.kg-1.h-1 for six hours) on the frequency and intensity of headaches, mood, activity, sleep, quality of life and safety of ketamine for three months after the interventions. Use of validated questionnaires, wearable technology, a research team that includes investigators with expertise in studying ketamine and in evaluating treatments for CDH and pain syndromes are some of the unique features of this project. Our study aims to prospectively assess the efficacy and safety of high-dose intravenous ketamine infusions compared to saline infusions in participants with CDH syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT05153876 Recruiting - Migraine Disorders Clinical Trials

An Open Internet-based Survey and Natural Language Processing Project Analysing Written Monologues by Headache Patients

NLPH-OPEN
Start date: October 11, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Headache disorders are among the most prevalent medical conditions worldwide. The diagnosis of headache disorders is based on medical history taking. Digital solutions such as natural language processing (NLP) may be of aid to understand the linguistic aspects of headache attack and headache related disability descriptions by patients. Participants will provide a written description of their headache disorder. The results will hopefully lead to a better understanding of the potential use of NLP in headache disorders.

NCT ID: NCT05111873 Recruiting - Headache Disorders Clinical Trials

Effects of Multimodal Treatment of Headache in a Day Clinic Service

Start date: February 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The observational study aims to investigate the effects of a multimodal treatment program for headache patients in a day clinic service. The setting provides one week of treatment including a combination of medical consultation, physiotherapy, psychological therapy, occupational therapy, progressive muscle relaxation and disease specific education. Outcome measures are the disease-specific impact on daily activities, general quality of life, psychological impact and headache frequency. Moreover, the study sought to identify parameters that best predict efficacy of the intervention. Therefore, standardized questionnaires are established in three points in time, to evaluate the pre- and post-treatment status.
