View clinical trials related to Glycogen Storage Disease Type II.
Filter by:The purpose of the study is to evaluate changes in key clinical outcome measures (eg, motor, respiratory, fatigue) in adult subjects with late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD) subjects receiving standard-of-care enzyme replacement therapy (ERT). Additionally, information gained may be used in the design and conduct of future studies in LOPD subjects.
This Phase I/II open-label, randomized, dose-escalation study will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary efficacy of VAL-1221 versus Myozyme®/Lumizyme® in participants with late-onset glycogen storage disease-II (GSD-II) (Pompe disease)
Pyridostigmine is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which degrades acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. Based on recent studies, pyridostigmine may be an effective adjuvant treatment for people with Pompe disease, as it increases the functional impact of this neurotransmitter. Hypothesis: the use of pyridostigmine in Pompe disease will improve transmission of acetylcholine across the neuromuscular junction, skeletal muscle function, respiratory function, and quality of life.
Study 701-901, a multicenter, multinational, longitudinal, non-interventional observational study in subjects, at least 18 years old, diagnosed with late-onset Pompe disease prospectively collects data to understand clinical progression in terms of respiratory function, symptomology, genotype, biochemistry, endurance and selected subject-reported measures for 24 weeks followed by a 240 week additional observation period for up to 100 subjects.
Study 701-201 is a study in patients with late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD). The study will test respiratory muscle strength initially and again after 24 weeks in subjects treated or not treated with BMN 701 .
Hypothesis: the effectiveness of treatment of Pompe disease with rhGAA enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) is limited at least in part because patients develop antibodies against the provided rhGAA enzyme. Treatment with Zavesca® prior to infusion may dampen or eliminate the anti-rhGAA immune response in patients receiving ERT, thereby allowing for greater ERT efficacy. Treatment with Zavesca® before a enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) may decrease the severity of, or eliminate infusion associated reactions (IAR) in people with Pompe Disease receiving ERT.
Study 701-301 is a single-arm, open-label, switchover study in patients with late-onset Pompe disease who have been receiving treatment with recombinant human acid alpha-glucosidase (rhGAA) for 48 weeks or longer. Ambulatory patients who have mild to moderate respiratory impairment will switch directly to receive BMN 701 20 mg/kg by IV infusion every other week. All participants will receive active drug. No dose of existing therapy will be missed - experimental drug is started immediately.
A study to demonstrate comparable safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of alglucosidase alfa manufactured at the 160 litre (L) and 4000 L scales in participants who had been diagnosed with infantile-onset Pompe disease. Participants were treated with alglucosidase alfa 160 L scale product in the United States (US) and 4000 L scale product in the regions outside the US.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with 4000 litre (L) alglucosidase alfa (Lumizyme®) in Pompe participants.
This is a Phase 2 open-label, multiple dose study of BMN 701 administered by IV infusion every 2 weeks (qow) to patients with late-onset Pompe disease.
