MCAT Versus VISTA With Volume Stable Collagen Matrix in RT3 Gingival Recession

This study aims to compare MCAT technique (supraperiosteal approach with coronal advancement of flap) with VISTA technique(subperiosteal approach with coronal advancement of flap), Further, it may be hypothesized that supraperiosteal placement of graft material (in MCAT technique) may be better due to better blood supply, and MCAT technique utilizes a microsurgical concept, including microsurgical blades and suture material, which improves wound healing and establishes a better esthetic result and results in better outcome in terms of root coverage percentage compared to VISTA. Therefore, this study aims to compare minimally invasive technique MCAT and VISTA using VCMX as a graft in RT3 gingival recession in anterior teeth.

Gingival recession (GR) is defined as apical displacement of the gingival margin relative to the cemento-enamel junction, with resultant oral exposure of the root. Most of the recessions in periodontal patients involve the destruction of interproximal periodontal tissues, and these were classifed as Miller class III and IV or Cairo RT2 andRT3 gingival recessions (GRs). Taking all this into account, numerous techniques have been attempted to achieve root coverage of single-rooted tooth, Connective tissue graft presently stands as the benchmark in periodontal plastic surgery, offering excellent predictability and enhanced long-term root coverage. However, its availability is limited and its use often leads to increased patient morbidity.Thus making placental allografts in dentistry a topic of growing interest and recent advancement. It may be hypothesized that CM + LLLT or CM may be used an alternative to SCTG in minimally invasive technique in recession coverage. Hence, this study evaluates root coverage percentages in RT2 gingival defects using a CM with and without photobiostimulation, comparing them to each other and to SCTG- the gold standard control group.

Impact of Microneedling on Coverage of RT1 Gingival Recession in Thin Phenotype.

Gingival Recession (GR) is a common finding in among adults, regardless of the oral hygiene levels. When it is associated with esthetic impairment, dentin hypersensitivity, root caries, surgical treatment is indicated. Mid-buccal Gingival Recessions are an extremely prevalent condition and have root coverage potential through periodontal plastic surgery procedures. A flap thickness of > 0.8 mm results in a covered root surface of 100%, whereas a flap thickness of < 0.8 mm results in partial root coverage in Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF)procedure. The present study aims to increase the gingival thickness by microneedling procedures to enhance root coverage by CAF procedures in thin gingival phenotype.

The Comparison of Different Root Coverage Techniques Using the Anatomical Recession Area Approach

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of two treatments for gingival recession. The main questions it aims to answer are: Which treatment method, Coronally Positioned Flap with Connective Tissue Graft or Modified Coronally Advanced Tunnel with connective tissue graft, is more effective in treating gum recession? How does the Anatomical Recession Rate, a new measurement technique, help in evaluating the success of these treatments? The patients will be treated with coronally advanced flap or modified coronally advanced tunnel + connective tissue graft to see which method is more effective in reducing gum recession, as measured by using anatomical recession rate.

Root Coverage With Tunneling Technique With Connective Tissue Versus Coronal Advancement Flap Technique.

This is a randomized triple-blind clinical trial. This comparative clinical study investigates the efficacy of root coverage using two periodontal techniques: the tunneling technique and the coronal advancement technique. The objective is to evaluate and compare the clinical, esthetic and patient perception outcomes after undergoing each procedure. Participants with specific gingival recessions will be included, and follow-up will be performed to measure root coverage, keratinized tissue gain and other relevant parameters. In addition, a detailed analysis of the morbidity associated with each technique will be performed. This study aims to provide valuable information to guide oral health professionals in choosing the most appropriate technique for the treatment of gingival recessions.

Regression analysis in a recent systematic review showed significantly greater mRC and CRC values when modifications are done to the TUN procedure to achieve more coronal advancement of the flap, coronal advancement also helps in covering the underlying graft for better recession coverage outcomes (Tavelli et al., 2018), limited data is present on the possible influence of a covered or partially uncovered graft. However, it has been suggested that minimal exposure of the CTG may aid not only in achieving CRC but also a harmonious gingival margin (John et al., 2015; Rasperini et al., 2011).

Toothbrush in the Genesis and Prevention of Dental Recessions

The aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of brushing on gingival recessions and to understand the impact of manual brushing and brushing with mechanical aid on their evolution. The study involves the recruitment of 90 patients with or without gingival recessions at the Dentistry service of the University of Genoa. The first phase involves the evaluation of the brushing force on the genesis of gingival recessions. A questionnaire will be filled out and the same toothbrushes and toothpastes will be provided for one month to 30 patients with recessions and 30 patients without recessions. After a month, the "wear" of the manual toothbrush and the gingival health indices will be measured. In this phase 60 patients with recessions will be divided into two groups according to the oral hygiene method that will be recommended. In the first group a super soft toothbrush will be delivered, in the second group a mechanical toothbrush. Gingival health indices will be taken and an intraoral scan will be done to measure recessions. At 6 months and 12 months the indices will be measured again and compared between the two groups. This research has two objectives: 1. Evaluate the differences in wear of the manual toothbrush head after one month of use between patients with gum recession and patients without gum recession. In the case of greater wear among patients with recessions it could be assumed that a greater brushing force is able to determine the formation of recessions. 2. Try to understand if there are differences between the super soft manual toothbrush and the mechanical toothbrush regarding the effectiveness of use and the "delicacy" on recession. Both tools are currently recommended for patients with recessions, but there are no studies in the literature comparing the two tools.
