Filter by:In this study, we aimed to determine the knowledge levels and approaches of anesthesiologists working in our clinic about postoperative residual curarization(PORC) in elderly patients with a questionnaire. In addition, we aimed to determine the incidence of PORC and factors associated with PORC in the recovery unit in elderly patients over 65 years of age who underwent surgery under general anesthesia using muscle relaxants with a prospective observational study.
Aim of this prospective observational study is to investigate whether shock index(SI), modified shock index(MSI) and age related shock index(ASI) have any predictive value in predicting post-spinal hypotension which may develop in patients over 65 years of age, who are planned to undergo transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and transurethral resection of the bladder (TURB) surgery under spinal anesthesia.
In this study the investigators will incorporate a wide range of clinical variables associated with aging and cardiovascular disease to determine whether they are associated with mutation status independent of chronologic age. Clinically, aging can be operationalized using geriatric assessment, which entails a comprehensive multi-dimensional assessment of the health of an older adult, including measures of comorbidity, polypharmacy, functional status, cognition, depression, falls, social activities and social support. Given that aging is heterogeneous, geriatric assessment allows greater specificity for aging than chronological age alone.
The objective of the study is to give a structured update on geriatric postgraduate education throughout Europe. The study will be performed as a cross-sectional structured quantitative online survey with qualitative comments. The survey content covers structural items, content and educational aspects of geriatric specialty training in European countries.
