Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Tibial pseudarthrosis in 83 year old patient suffering from pathologic fractures

NCT ID: NCT04705857 Enrolling by invitation - Non Union Fracture Clinical Trials

Comparative Study of Gene-activated Bone Substitute and Autobone in Treatment of Long Bone Nonunions

Start date: August 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study is aimed to compare the effectiveness of "Histograft" bone substitute (gene-activated bone substitute based on octacalcium phosphate and plasmid DNA encoding VEGFA gene) mixed with shredded autobone and pure shredded auto bone harvested from iliac crest in treatment of patients with long bone nonunions

NCT ID: NCT04681846 Not yet recruiting - Fracture Non Union Clinical Trials

Results of the Staged Surgical Approach for Management of Infected Un-united Femoral Shaft Fractures in Adults

Start date: March 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Assessment of the efficacy of the multistage technique in the eradication of infection and achieving the union of traumatic infected femoral un-united shaft fractures in adult patients for one year follow up.

NCT ID: NCT04564625 Active, not recruiting - Fracture Clinical Trials

Relationships Between Vitamin D and Orthopedic Trauma

Start date: March 20, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D is an essential hormone involved in bone metabolism, bone mineral density maintenance, and bone health. Vitamin D deficiency is putatively linked to poor pediatric orthopedic outcomes [1]. Further, the risk of low vitamin D associated fractures may be greater in minority pediatric populations [2]. In adults, utility of vitamin D alleles as a biomarker for bone density and fracture risk has been debated for over 10 years [3-5]. Peak bone density is achieved at 25 years old; however, most orthopedic trauma patients less than 25 years of age present with substantial vitamin D deficiencies.

NCT ID: NCT04340284 Completed - Clinical trials for Nonunion of Fracture

Adipose Tissue Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) Application in Treatment of Long Bones Nonunion

Start date: November 10, 2019
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Nonunion is a major complication of fractures.Per cutaneous bone marrow concentrate (BMC) application around fracture ends is being utilized with great success . Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs)are one of the major cell types found in BMC responsible for results Adipose tissue is an alternative source for MSCs. Besides abundant and readily accessible it also overcomes issue of morbidity with bone marrow aspiration. this retrospective analysis to report the outcome in patients treated with fluoroscopic guided percutaneous injection of SVF at the site of fracture as an outpatient procedure between November 2012 to August 2018.

NCT ID: NCT04299022 Recruiting - Fractures, Bone Clinical Trials

Safety, Efficacy, & Use of ViviGen Cellular Bone Matrix Allograft in Orthopaedic Fracture Care

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Prospective registry and retrospective data collection study to assess the efficacy and safety of Vivigen Cellular Bone Matrix (Vivigen) in orthopaedic trauma patients who require bone grafting in the acute, delayed, non-union fracture as well as use in fusion procedure settings.

NCT ID: NCT03937310 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Nonunion of Fracture

NGS for Non-unions

Start date: January 3, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of genetic testing to look for possible infection as a cause for failure of non-healing fractures. The study aims to compare the results of genetic testing known as NGS to standardized clinical laboratory tests for diagnosing infections to see if NGS may be a better diagnostic tool.

NCT ID: NCT03928912 Completed - Clinical trials for Nonunion of Fracture of Tibia (Diagnosis)

Risk Factors for Post-Operative Nonunion of Tibial Shaft Fractures Based on a Path Analysis Model

Start date: February 2, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Tibial shaft fractures is common long tubular fracture that account for about 13.7% of all fractures. And the incidence of nonunion of tibial shaft fracture varied from 1% to 80%. This study aimed to confirm the risk factors of nonunion of tibial shaft fracture. Moreover, the investigators hope to establish the clinical pathway of various risk factors for fracture nonunion and affirm the importance of different risk factors.

NCT ID: NCT03891888 Recruiting - Tibial Fractures Clinical Trials

Intramedullary Bone Grafting for Open Tibial Shaft Fractures

Start date: March 26, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will examine if there is a difference between the time to full union between the control group and the study group. Each group will be composed of patients who have an open fracture in the mid tibia. Both groups will undergo primary fixation via reamed intramedulary nailing (IMN), a common treatment for tibia shaft fractures in adults. The study group will have a bone graft applied to the open cortex of the fracture. The bone graft will be composed of the intramedullary reamings, which are a byproduct produced when the intramedullary canal is reamed in preparation for insertion of the IMN.

NCT ID: NCT03875963 Terminated - Infection Clinical Trials

Antibiotic Loaded Calcium Sulfate RCT

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a multi-centered, prospective, randomized controlled trial comparing current standard of care for defect management to placement of antibiotic loaded Stimulan as a bone void filler in patients undergoing treatment of infected tibial defects or infected tibial nonunions.
