NCT ID: NCT04653051 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Distal Radius Fracture

PMCF Study on the Safety, Performance and Clinical Benefits of the DVR Plating System

Start date: March 12, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study is a single-center, retrospective, non-randomized, non-controlled and consecutive series post-market study. The purpose of this study is to confirm safety, performance and clinical benefits of the DVR Plates. The primary objective is the assessment of performance by analyzing fracture healing. The secondary objective is the assessment of safety by recording and analyzing the incidence and frequency of complications and adverse events.

NCT ID: NCT04623346 Active, not recruiting - Ankle Fractures Clinical Trials

Orthopaedic Conservative Treatment in the Time of Covid-19 Pandemic

Start date: March 11, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a one centered retrospective study. Tendency for surgical interventions in the pre-pandemic period was reduced to protect surgical team and patients. The investigators aimed to find out the answer to the following question: will conservative treatment be the shining star in the post pandemic period?

NCT ID: NCT04622137 Active, not recruiting - Clavicle Fracture Clinical Trials

Kinesiotaping Therapy for Clavicular Fractures FRACTURES:

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter prospective randomized controlled study. Forty patients in whom conservative treatment for clavicle midshaft fractures was indicated between January 2018 and July 2019 were included. The investigators aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the kinesiotaping technique for the conservative treatment of clavicle midshaft fractures. The investigators hypothesized that kinesiotaping reduces the disadvantages of conservative treatment, such as early-phase pain, high nonunion rates, and a prolonged time to return to work, and yields better clinical and functional outcomes by providing good mechanical support and neutralizing the deforming muscle forces around the fractured clavicle.

NCT ID: NCT04615650 Active, not recruiting - Ankle Fractures Clinical Trials

RCT Comparing Non-operative vs Operative Treatment of Suprasyndesmotic Ankle Fractures.

Start date: December 28, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Weight-bearing radiographs will be used to evaluate the stability of suprasyndesmotic ankle fractures. Patients with stable fractures will be randomised to operative or non-operative treatment.

NCT ID: NCT04565743 Active, not recruiting - Osteoporosis Clinical Trials

Stop At One Stockholm (SAOS)- Secondary Fracture Prevention Through Active Patient Identification and Staff Education.

SAOS
Start date: February 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a study on the effects of education on secondary fracture prevention in primary health care centers (PHCC) and referral from hospitals to these PHCC of patients with recent fragility fractures. The design is Cluster-randomized controlled study with two arms. 40 primary health care centers (PHCC) are included, each PHCC constitutes a cluster. The intervention group contains 20 PHCCs and the control group of the remaining 20 PHCCs. The educational part of the intervention is divided into three sessions; one web based course succeeded by two multiprofessional seminars with six months interval. During the intervention period patients enlisted at the intervention PHCCs, aged 60 or more who are diagnosed on a fragility fracture are referred to their respective PHCC. The primary outcome are the proportions of patients who receive bone specific treatment after their fracture in the intervention group compared to the control group.

NCT ID: NCT04564625 Active, not recruiting - Fracture Clinical Trials

Relationships Between Vitamin D and Orthopedic Trauma

Start date: March 20, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D is an essential hormone involved in bone metabolism, bone mineral density maintenance, and bone health. Vitamin D deficiency is putatively linked to poor pediatric orthopedic outcomes [1]. Further, the risk of low vitamin D associated fractures may be greater in minority pediatric populations [2]. In adults, utility of vitamin D alleles as a biomarker for bone density and fracture risk has been debated for over 10 years [3-5]. Peak bone density is achieved at 25 years old; however, most orthopedic trauma patients less than 25 years of age present with substantial vitamin D deficiencies.

NCT ID: NCT04498715 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Trochanteric Fracture of Femur

Trochanteric Femur Fracture Operated With Dynamic Hip Screw System (DHS) Augmented With a Biphasic Apatite Sulphate Combined With Systemic or Local Bisphosphonate

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to study the process of bone regeneration around a metal device in the femoral neck canal using a synthetic bone substitute Cerament bone void filler (BVF) and bisphosphonate (Zometa) locally or systemically that affects bone metabolism. Furthermore, fracture healing and implant migration will be investigated.

NCT ID: NCT04482582 Active, not recruiting - Rib Fractures Clinical Trials

Early Percutaneous Cryoablation for Pain Control After Rib Fractures Among Elderly Patients

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to provide long-term pain control for elderly patients with rib fractures in order to minimize their risk of complications and return them to baseline functional capacity

NCT ID: NCT04443998 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Mandibular Fractures

Mandibular Fracture Reduction Using Bone Reduction Forceps

Start date: October 16, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Different methods have been used in reducing mandibular fractures. Bone reduction forceps provides precise reduction and stabilize mandibular fracture segments.

NCT ID: NCT04290884 Active, not recruiting - Fracture of Femur Clinical Trials

Tranexamic Acid in Chinese Elderly Patients With Intertrochanteric Fracture RCT

Start date: May 23, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Hip fracture posed a major challenge to the health care system, with the one-year mortality of hip fracture reported as being approximately 20%. Perioperative haemoglobin level was associated with functional level of the patient and even mortality. Different methods for administration of tranexamic acid had been described. It was well established that systemic administration of tranexamic acid could reduce perioperative blood loss and transfusion rate. Topical administration had been shown to decrease blood loss and transfusion rate. The objective of our study is to investigate the hypothesis that tranexamic acid will reduce blood loss and transfusion rate in elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery.
