Filter by:Evaluate the prevalence and types of urinary tract infections, the features of the gut and urinary tract microbiota in cirrhosis, to assess its importance in the development of complications and outcomes of cirrhosis.
Studies comparing Thromboelastography or Rotational thromboelastometry versus standard coagulation tests are abundant. Data comparing the two exclusively in a liver intensive care set up is limited. Studies show that TEG and ROTEM cannot be used interchangeably in trauma, liver transplant patients, but there is limited evidence of the same in critically ill cirrhotic patients. In this study, the investigators tried to demonstrate the comparison of blood products used to treat coagulopathy based on TEG versus ROTEM algorithms in cirrhotic patients presenting with non variceal bleeding
This is a phase I, open label, single arm trial using UC-MSCs to treat patients with liver cirrhosis that includes 20 patients. The primary outcome measure will be change in MELD score at 3, 6, and 12 months after UC-MSC transplantation from baseline. The safety is assessed by frequency and severity of the adverse event or serious adverse event associated with stem cell injection. This study could reconfirm the efficacy of stem cell transplantation for liver cirrhosis and would open a novel cell therapy for the treatment of adult liver cirrhosis.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a rare, chronic, lethal disease of unknown etiology and with a variable course. There is currently no test in routine care that can assess both the anatomical and functional damage of the disease at an early stage. This is the first human study in IPF to evaluate the value of a non-invasive tracer, 18F-fluoromisonidazole (18F-FMISO), targeting hypoxia in IPF patients. This is a Phase I, proof-of-concept, single-center, open-label, parallel group study. It will include 2 groups: - 1 group of 10 IPF patients - 1 group of 10 healthy volunteers matched to IPF patients for age and gender
LASN01 is a novel, fully human antibody directed against the human IL-11 receptor that is being developed to address the fibro-inflammatory pathology of pulmonary fibrosis and TED. This study is a four-part trial consisting of Parts A, B, C and D. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of LASN01, and the secondary objective is to evaluate the preliminary efficacy, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetics of single and multiple doses of LASN01 in healthy participants and in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) or progressive fibrosing interstitial lung disease (PF-ILD) or Thyroid Eye disease (TED). Please note that the Phase 1 (single and multiple ascending dose, SAD/MAD) portion in healthy subjects is completed and the Phase 2a portion in patients is actively recruiting.
This study will evaluate the long-term safety, efficacy and pharmacodynamics of ELX/TEZ/IVA in participants with cystic fibrosis (CF) with at least 1 non-F508del ELX/TEZ/IVA-responsive CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene mutation.
Identifying patients at risk of NAFLD(Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease), especially severe disease with NASH(nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) and fibrosis, is critical. Prevalence of NAFLD in PLWH(People Living With HIV) evaluated by different imaging techniques including US (ultrasonography), elastography, CT(computed tomography ), and magnetic resonance varies from 13% to 58.6% in all published studies. In previous studies, the effect of ART(Anti-Retroviral Therapy) on NAFLD was limited. A cross-sectional analysis found that INSTI(Integrase strand transfer inhibitor) was associated with a higher prevalence of steatosis in AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) patients. However, it is not clear whether there is a difference in the degree of nonalcoholic steatosis between AIDS patients receiving NNRTI(non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors). Therefore, the investigators plan to conduct a prospective study to assess whether there is any difference in the degree of nonalcoholic steatosis and fibrosis between Chinese HIV(human immunodeficiency virus)/AIDS patients after initial treatment with NNRTI or INSTI, or switching from NNRTI to INSTI.
The purpose of the study is to assess efficacy and safety of a digital cognitive behavioural therapy for patients with pulmonary fibrosis on anxiety. The study is decentralized and participation is not limited to patients living close to the sites.
In this study, the investigators compared the improvement of liver reserve function related indicators in patients with liver cirrhosis after laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection. To determine whether surgical treatment can help enhance postoperative liver reserve function and improve patient prognosis.
