AI-assisted Endoscopy Report System In Improving Reporting Quality

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, we proposed a prospective study about the effectiveness of artificial intelligence system for endoscopy report quality in endoscopists. The subjects would be divided into two groups. For the collected endoscopic videos, group A would complete the endoscopy report with the assistance of the artificial intelligence system. The artificial intelligence assistant system can automatically capture images, prompt abnormal lesions and the parts covered by the examination (the upper gastrointestinal tract is divided into 26 parts). Group B would complete the endoscopy report without special prompts. After a period of forgetting, the two groups switched, that is, group A without AI assistance and group B with AI assistance to complete the endoscopy report. Then, the completeness of the report lesion, the accuracy of the lesion location, the completeness of the lesion and the standard part in the captured images, and so on were compared with or without AI assistance.

NCT ID: NCT05464108 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Artificial Intelligence

Validation The Artificial Intelligence System for Automatic Evaluation of the Extent of Intestinal Metaplasia

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The operative link on gastric intestinal metaplasia assessment (OLGIM) staging systems using biopsy specimens were commonly used for histological assessment of gastric cancer risk. But its clinical application is limited for at least biopsy samples. The endoscopic grading system (EGGIM) has been shown a significant correlation with the OLGIM. The investigators designed a computer-aided diagnosis program using deep neural network to automatically evaluate the extent of IM and calculate the EGGIM scores in endoscopy examination. This study is aimed at exploring the relevance of the EGGIM scores automatically evaluated by Artificial Intelligence and OLGIM scores.

NCT ID: NCT05459610 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Artificial Intelligence

Automatic Evaluation of the Extent of Intestinal Metaplasia With Artificial Intelligence

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Gastric intestinal metaplasia(GIM) is an important stage in the gastric cancer(GC). With technical advance of image-enhanced endoscopy (IEE), studies have demonstrated IEE has high accuracy for diagnosis of GIM. The endoscopic grading system (EGGIM), a new endoscopic risk scoring system for GC, have been shown to accurately identify a wide range of patients with GIM. However, the high diagnostic accuracy of GIM using IEE and EGGIM assessments performed all require much experience, which limits the application of EGGIM. The investigators aim to design a computer-aided diagnosis program using deep neural network to automatically evaluate the extent of IM and calculate the EGGIM scores.

Endoscopic Breast Conserving Surgery With Intra-operative Navigation System

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A growing number of Chinese breast cancer patients are diagnosed at a young age. The quality of life of young breast cancer patients has been a critical issue. Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) not only removes the tumor but also maintains the appearance of breast. The Breast Tumor Center of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital is one of the first departments in China to perform breast-conserving surgeries. Endoscopic breast surgery has emerged as a promising surgical approach. However, it is hard to delineate the tumor margins in endoscopic BCS, which restrains its development. In traditional BCS, surgeons determine the tumor border by palpation, which is impossible in endoscopic BCS. For the first time, we performed the intra-operative navigation system-assisted endoscopic breast-conserving surgery, in which the tumor border was accurately delineated using the navigation system.

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Artificial Intelligence Cloud Platform in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Screening

Start date: July 9, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Study objective: To establish a quality control system for gastrointestinal endoscopy based on artificial intelligence technology and an auxiliary diagnosis system that can perform lesion identification, improving the detection rate of early gastrointestinal cancer while standardizing, normalizing, and homogenizing the endoscopic treatment in primary hospitals (including some of the primary hospitals, which are participating in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Medical Consortium) under Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Artificial Intelligence Cloud Platform as the hardware base. Study design: This study is a prospective, multi-center, real-world study.

NCT ID: NCT05422404 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Anti-Reflux Mucosal Ablation(ARMA) and Anti-Reflux Mucosectomy(ARMS) in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Start date: June 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

According to the current published data and treatment mechanism, ARMS may led to more stenosis while ARMA may be less effective in long term follow-up. The changes of patient's life quality , UGI tract microbiota before and after different endoscopic treatment are also limited. So we want to conduct a exploratory prospective randomized controlled study in evaluating the mucosal healing, demand of PPI, life quality, emotion status, sleep quality, esophageal motility/ acid exposure and saliva microbiota between chronic GERD patients receiving ARMS and ARMA treatment.

Can Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) be Used as a Sedative for GI Endoscopy Procedures?

Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Nitrous oxide (commonly known as 'laughing gas') is often used during dental and other outpatient procedures, because it is easy to administer, is short-acting and rapidly clears from the body following the procedure. The investigators hypothesize that use of Nitrous oxide during GI endoscopy may enhance patient comfort during the procedure and speed-up post-procedure recovery, while minimizing the fatigue and mental fogginess some patients report the day after receiving standard sedative and narcotic drugs used routinely for the procedure. The investigators are interested in determining if adding Nitrous Oxide to commonly used sedation drugs will decrease fatigue, mental fogginess, and nausea/vomiting, as well as determine when the patient felt fully recovered from the effects of all sedatives given for the procedure.

NCT ID: NCT05228353 Completed - Complication Clinical Trials

Clinical Audit of GI Endoscopic Complications in a Tertiary Care Hospital

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract using fiberoptic endoscopes was introduced in the late 1950s and provided the first opportunity for direct visualization of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum and colon in vivo. GI Endoscopy is usually considered a safe and effective procedure. However complications do exist and procedure related costs are significant. There is a lack of prospective studies on complications of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. There is a lack of prospective studies on complications of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Knowledge of potential endoscopic adverse events, their expected frequency, and the risk factors for their occurrence may help to minimize the incidence of adverse events. Review of adverse events as part of a continuing quality improvement process may serve to educate endoscopists, help to reduce the risk of future adverse events, and improve the overall quality of endoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT05032443 Completed - Nurse's Role Clinical Trials

Anesthesia Awareness in Pediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Nurses

Start date: August 23, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Background and Aim: Pediatric gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy is an increasingly common procedure performed to investigate and diagnose problems in the GI tract in children. Procedures in pediatric endoscopy units are routinely performed under sedation and general anesthesia, unlike adult endoscopy. Nurses working in pediatric gastroenoscopy units where sedoanalgesia is applied have important duties and responsibilities in terms of quality standards in preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative periods. Considering the increasing need for high-quality pediatric endoscopy applications, the attitudes and behaviors of nurses about sedation in pediatric patients are important as a member of the team. There is almost no literature on the experience and awareness of pediatric endoscopy nurses in clinical practice, and this encourages our team to conduct a survey across our country and to develop knowledge and clinical practices. With this questionnaire survey, it was aimed to evaluate the experience and attitudes of the endoscopy nurses working in the pediatric endoscopy unit in our country on sedation/general anesthesia management for pediatric patients
