Explore final year nursing students' experiences and perception of the I-AM-WELL program. Participants will be invited to participate in an asynchronous online I-AM-WELL program
The purpose of this study is to assess how time restricted eating interventions impact eating behaviors, diet quality, and body composition in women ages 20-29 years. Participants will be asked to limit all food and drinks (except water and some non-caloric beverages) to a 10-hour period during the day for four weeks. Participants will follow their usual eating and activity patterns for one week before starting, and follow whatever eating pattern they want for 4 weeks after finishing.
The purpose of this study is to determine how consumption of a snack food affects the hedonic ratings of that snack food compared to other foods. The results will have implications for guidance about the provision of snacks for preschool children and may help in identifying strategies for the prevention of obesity in children.
The present study aims to investigate whether energy intake is reduced when participants consume a reduced portion size (15% compared to the 'control' portion), and also to see whether awareness of this reduction affects energy intake.
High food motivation among children is trait-like and increases risks of unhealthy dietary intake and obesity. Background: Obesity is chronic disease with high prevalence rates, functional disability and difficult long-term management. Anxiety is one of the most common psychological disorders in obesity, and when associated with other factors such as emotional eating and emotional dysregulation, it impairs treatment and interferes with lifestyle changes. Finding an intervention that improves the eating behavior of these patients and facilitates adherence to obesity treatment, associated with less emotional distress, is of great clinical interest. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Mindful Eating (ME) intervention on neurocognitive and behavioral outcomes in patients with obesity and anxiety compared to the control group with exposure to videos promoting quality of life. Methods: A five-weeks randomized clinical trial will be performed with 52 patients in adulthood. The Mindful Eating intervention group will receive an online protocol with one meeting per week. This is a protocol that has been adapted for five weeks and consists of a group intervention with 10-15 participants. Mindfulness, Mindful Eating and Self-Compassion training will be based on the Eat for Life protocol. The control group will receive five videos of psychoeducation, one topic per week. After, all participants will receive lifestyle advices, a first-line "treatment-as-usual" to obesity. There will be a face-to-face assessment with anthropometric, behavioral and biological measurements pre and post-intervention. The outcomes may help in understanding the mechanisms underlying the change in eating behavior, in order to direct new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of anxiety and obesity comorbidities.
The first few months of life are a critical time for setting the health trajectory of both infants and mothers. It is essential that guidance provided to new families be based on the most rigorous scientific evidence available. Beef serves as a highly nutrient-rich option for lactating women. Plant-based beef products have similar nutrient profiles, and some consumers perceive them as a healthier alternative to traditional beef. This study aims to understand the different effects that beef and plant-based beef have on breastmilk composition, maternal glycemic control, maternal intake and satiety, and infant intake. Understanding the differences between beef and plant-based beef can help parents make informed decisions about optimal nutrition for their infants and themselves.
The study will test a model of biobehavioral mechanisms involved in the development of a system of emotion, attachment, and nutritive intake in the mother-infant dyad and the association of this system with maternal feeding behavior, child eating behavior, dietary intake, and adiposity. To participate in this study the infant must also be enrolled in long-term observational study, NCT06039878.
The study will test a model of biobehavioral mechanisms involved in the development of a system of emotion, attachment, and nutritive intake in the mother-infant dyad and the association of this system with maternal feeding behavior, child eating behavior, dietary intake, and adiposity.
