NCT ID: NCT05092087 Completed - Clinical trials for Cerebrovascular Disease

Effects of Nutritional Counseling Regularity on the Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases

Start date: April 21, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to investigate the frequency of personalized nutrition counseling's effect on individual cardiovascular risk factors. The study collected 110 to 150 cases data, including a regular blood test, blood glucose, blood lipid, liver panel, and inflammatory factors. The enrolled cases were classified into two groups according to the subjects' duration of consultation: those who completed the consultation and subsequent tests in >24 weeks were in the control group, whereas those who completed the consultation and subsequent tests in <24 weeks were in the test group. The effectiveness of nutrition consultation toward managing cardiovascular disease risk factors and its correlation with the subjects' frequency of following the consultations was analyzed using the pre- and post-consultation data. It was found that personalized nutrition consultation significantly improved the subjects' risk factors of cardiovascular diseases, and that the treatment group showed a greater improvement than the control group which who require over 24 weeks to complete all consultation sessions.

NCT ID: NCT05091216 Completed - Xerostomia Clinical Trials

The Effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine Mouthwash Solutions on the Oral Health of Leprosy Patients

Start date: October 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to treat with traditional Chinese medicine mouthwash, and through the research of dental plaque detection and xerostomia questionnaire and traditional Chinese medicine treatment mechanism.

NCT ID: NCT05089669 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effects of an Interactive E-book to Enhance Nursing Skill

Start date: December 2, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is necessary for nursing students to have sufficient knowledge and correct nursing skill before clinical practicum to provide patients appropriate care and improve nursing quality. The learning materials of nursing skills are mainly paper textbooks and handouts, which are one-way knowledge transmissions having limitations and deficiencies in nursing skill learning. Interactive e-books integrate multimedia such as text, images, and videos, which are more suitable for learning nursing skill and maximize the effectiveness of the learning materials. The present study aimed to develop a nasogastric tube feeding interactive e-book based on Information Processing Theory (IPT) and Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction Motivational Model (ARCS), hoping to improve students' learning motivation and learning effectiveness. This is a randomized controlled trial study. Convenience sampling will be applied. The participants will be recruited and randomly assigned into the experimental group and comparison group. The experimental group will read an interactive e-book to learn nasogastric tube feeding, while the comparison group will read a paper textbook.

NCT ID: NCT05087654 Completed - Virtual Reality Clinical Trials

3D VR and Hands-on Horticultural Activities Effects

Start date: June 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aimed to explore the effects of a combination of 3D virtual reality (VR) and hands-on horticultural activities on the mental health of community-dwelling older adults.

NCT ID: NCT05086653 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Complications From Left Atrial Appendage Occluder

Start date: June 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The following case reported a rare complication of left atrial appendage perforation complicated by cardiac tamponade during LAAO device deployment and its corresponding surgical management

NCT ID: NCT05085743 Completed - Intubation Clinical Trials

Prediction of Endotracheal Tube Depth by Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Malposition of an endotracheal tube (ETT) may lead to a great disaster. Developing a handy way to predict the proper depth of ETT fixation is in need. Deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) are proven to perform well on chest radiographs analysis. The investigators hypothesize that DCNNs can also evaluate pre-intubation chest radiographs to predict suitable ETT depth and no related studies are found. The authors evaluated the ability of DCNNs to analyze pre-intubation chest radiographs along with patients' data to predict the proper depth of ETT fixation before intubation.

NCT ID: NCT05084443 Completed - Clinical trials for Other Skin and Subcutaneous Infections

Effect of Roselle-based Drink on Blood Pressure and Skin

Start date: September 11, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, and cross-over study was designed to check whether the roselle-based drink (2 bottles every day) can alter blood pressure and skin condition in elderly healthy subjects.

NCT ID: NCT05081505 Completed - Older Adult Clinical Trials

Community-based Physical Fitness Exercise on the Older Adults' Functional Fitness and Adherence to Physical Activity

Start date: March 30, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Maintaining adequate physical activity (PA) and regularly exercising are very important to promote the good physical and mental health of the elderly. According to the transtheoretical model (TTM) framework, previous research studies have formulated many strategies to promote exercise behaviors, such as incentive strategies, combines municipal resources and links up with the referral of primary care institutions, or including patients in the decision-making process about exercise choices to enable patients to have greater autonomy. In addition, in terms of the strategic aspects of achieving goals, competitive incentives are also an effective strategy. Therefore, this study aims to find out the effects of the community-based physical fitness exercise course, which is given according to TTM, on improving functional fitness and exercise persistence of the older adults.

NCT ID: NCT05079633 Completed - Covid19 Vaccine Clinical Trials

A Heterologous Prime-boost Study to Evaluate Immunogenicity and Safety of mRNA-1273 With MVC-COV1901 in Adults

Start date: September 30, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of the study is to evaluable the safety and to demonstrate the immunogenicity of heterologous prime-boost (mRNA-1273, MVC-COV1901), compared to homologous prime-boost (mRNA-1273), with an interval of 8-12 weeks, This study also assesses the safety and tolerability of the study intervention and explores the immunogenicity by the antigen-specific immunoglobulin, the immunogenicity against the VoCs, the antigen specific cellular immune response, as well as the potential efficacy of study intervention in preventing COVID-19.
