Start date: May 31, 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore the potential of metformin in managing olanzapine-induced metabolic disturbance and hyperprolactinemia in patients with schizophrenia. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. The effect of metformin on olanzapine-induced metabolic disturbance 2. The effect of metformin on olanzapine-induced hyperprolactinemia Participants will receive metformin 1500 mg/day for 8 weeks and assessments every 2 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT06324227 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mild Cognitive Impairment

Effects of Multimodal Music Intervention on Mild Cognitive Impairment Elderly

Start date: September 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about whether music therapy can ameliorate cognitive function, physical fitness and psychology in mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia population. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. To build a model of multimodal music therapy. 2. To discuss the effect of twelve-week multimodal music therapy in ameliorating community-based elders with MCI and mild dementia. Main outcome variables: cognitive function (Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, trail making test, Saint Louis University Mental Status Examination). Secondary outcome variables: physical fitness (muscle strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, balance ability), depression.

NCT ID: NCT06322810 Not yet recruiting - Analgesia Clinical Trials

ESP Versus PIFB for Analgesia in Open Cardiac Surgery: a Randomized Control Trial

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial compares analgesia efficiency and recovery outcomes between two different fascial plane block techniques (ESPB vs.PIFB) in cardiac surgery patients participant population/health conditions]. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does ESPB provide superior analgesia than PIFB - Do patients who receive ESPB have better recovery outcomes

NCT ID: NCT06322589 Recruiting - Dermatology Clinical Trials

Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To assess the efficacy of SOD like Super Drink on anti-oxidant capacity, immuno regulation and skin for human

NCT ID: NCT06321549 Completed - Clinical trials for Breast Reconstruction

New Era of DIEP With Minimally Invasive Mastectomy

Start date: October 3, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The free deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap is the gold standard in autologous breast reconstruction. Asian patients often present with a smaller body mass index with relatively insufficient tissue. To restore appropriate symmetry, a larger flap inset ratio must be transferred. Supercharging of the second vein or inclusion of bilateral pedicle is commonly required. Current paradigm shifts in mastectomy has also resulted in more minimally invasive surgeries (MIS) espousing smaller lateral incisions, leading to a significant change in available recipient vessels. This study aimed to demonstrate our experience in changing strategies of DIEP flaps following the evolution of mastectomy techniques. Between October 2008 and March 2022, retrospective data was gathered for 278 patients who underwent breast reconstruction surgery utilizing DIEP flaps by a single plastic surgeon. These patients were divided into two distinct groups based on their operation dates, with November 2018 marking a pivotal moment when the first MIS was introduced.

Start date: April 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is going to compare different teaching strategies for improving newly recruited nurses' comprehensive nursing assessment skills.

NCT ID: NCT06318065 Recruiting - Brain Metastases Clinical Trials

Surgical Resection Outcomes in Patients With Brain Metastasis

Start date: January 1, 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

While many studies have investigated the prognostic factors for patients undergoing surgical resection for primary brain tumors, decision-making for patients with brain metastasis (BM) is more complex because of their higher burden of comorbidities compared to those with primary brain tumors. In addition, although various prognostic indicators have been identified to predict prognosis in several types of cancer, such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), limited studies have yet determined which group of patients would yield beater survival outcome after surgical resection for BM. This study aimed to investigate the impact of patient and perioperative characteristics and prognostic indicators on survival outcome of patients undergoing surgical resection of BM.

NCT ID: NCT06317792 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Parkinsonism in Diseases Classified Elsewhere

The Efficacy of Online Exergaming-Integrated Physiotherapy for Parkinson's Disease

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To validate the efficiency of online exergaming-based physiotherapy. We will enroll patients with Parkinson's disease in postural instability and gait disturbance motor phenotype in the study and divide them into two groups in a randomized controlled study.

NCT ID: NCT06317584 Not yet recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Empowerment-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ECAM)

NCT ID: NCT06316921 Completed - Pain, Postoperative Clinical Trials

Epidural PCA on Pain Relief After L-spine Surgery

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of epidural patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) on postoperative pain relief after lumbar spine surgeries. The eligible patients received two types of postoperative pain management: PCA and standard pain treatment. Comparisons between the two groups were made in terms of postoperative pain level.
