In this study, multiple myeloma participants with secondary immunodeficiency (SID) will be treated with HyQvia according to their clinic's standard practice. The study's main aim is to look into infusion parameters of HyQvia administration.
The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and to explore the efficacy of astegolimab in participants with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who have completed the 52-week placebo-controlled treatment period in parent studies GB43311 or GB44332.
Covid-19 has the potential to affect physical, cognitive and psychological functions in multiple ways. It has been clear that a significant proportion of patients with Covid-19 develop long-term symptoms. The term post COVID-19 condition (defined by WHO) is used to describe the wide range of prolonged symptoms following the infection. Patients may need specialized rehabilitation to be able to meet the complex symptoms and problems that may arise. A more specific syndrome that seems to occur more frequently than expected in the group of non-hospitalized patients with post COVID-19 condition is the postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). A randomized controlled design will be used to evaluate the effects of individual tailored physical exercise in patients with POTS after Covid-19. Participants: Adults (>18 years) with post COVID-19 condition and diagnosed with POTS (n=60) will be included. Exclusion criteria: known pregnancy, cancer, already ongoing individual physical exercise (specific for POTS), or not able to perform measurements and/or intervention. Procedure and outcomes: The primary outcomes are objectively measured time in upright position and health-related quality of life. Secondary outcomes are: physical activity, physical capacity, work ability and disease specific symptoms measured with tests and questionnaires. Prior to randomization baseline measurements will be performed, aswell as after 16 weeks, 6 months and 12 months. Intervention: Participants randomized to intervention will receive standard care and undergo a individually designed physical exercise program during 16 weeks, supervised and guided by a physiotherapist. The intervention will consist of different exercises to enhance muscle strength and endurance. Progression will be according to a program (based on previous feasibility studie) but should be halted if post exertional malaise (PEM) or other problems occur. Controls: Participants randomized to control will receive standard care during 16 weeks. Measurements of both groups (control and intervention) will be repeated after completion of a period of 16 weeks.
During the pandemic of COVID-19, studies reporting a high incidence of barotrauma, both pneumothorax but also pneumomediastinum, in patients with critical COVID-19. If this is complications of the respiratory support used to treat patients hypoxemia or if it is a direct consequence of COVID-19 damaging the lung tissue is not known. The aim of this study is to investigate the incidence and type barotrauma, if there is an association between barotrauma and level of respiratory support used in the intensive care unit, and if barotrauma is associated with worse outcome compared to patients without barotrauma.
A Phase 3b research study to consolidate the data that ivosidenib is safe and effective in adult patients with previously treated, locally advanced, or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). All patients who meet inclusion criteria will be enrolled to receive ivosidenib tablets orally once daily for 28 day cycles, continuing as long as clinical benefit and consent for participation is maintained. There will be a minimum of 6 study visits from screening until the final follow-up, if one cycle of treatment is completed and consent is maintained through 18 months of follow-up. Each additional cycle completed will add one study visit, on the first day of each cycle.
This 5-year project aims to (1) search for genetic causes for yet unsolved congenital skeletal disorders (GSDs); (2) study consequences of the newly identified pathogenic variants in cells and in transgenic mice, (3) summarize data on natural course and complications for different GSD groups. For patients with unsolved GSD, the investigators search for molecular causes of GSDs using whole genome sequencing (WGS) and total ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequencing. Candidate gene variants are selected using genome or transcriptome sequencing data, clinical findings and screening of omics databases. Causality of the new variants is studied in cells and in transgenic mice models. Molecular and clinical findings are summarized for different GSD groups.
In a prospective longitudinal study design, details in jaw-neck kinematics and electromyography (EMG) activity changes in patients (women and men) referred for surgical correction of basal relations between the maxilla and mandible over time; pre-operative and during follow-up 8 weeks and 18 months after surgical correction will be evaluated. The results will contribute with novel insights on jaw-neck motor function before, in short- and long-term after the surgical process. We will have blinded evaluation of outcomes.
High-intensity exercise is essential for optimal development of cardiorespiratory fitness and health. This is, however, challenging for most people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to ventilatory limitations, leading to exercise at lower intensities accompanied by suboptimal stress on the cardiovascular and muscular system. The aims of this cross-over trial is: 1. To compare the acute effects of short-duration supramaximal high-intensity interval training (HIIT) vs. traditional moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) in people with COPD and matched healthy controls (HC). 2. To investigate the feasibility of supramaximal HIIT in people with COPD and matched HC. 3. To compare the cardiorespiratory demand, exercise intensity and symptoms during a modified Borg Cycle Strength Test (BCST) and a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) in people with COPD and HC.
The Carry Life UF system performs peritoneal ultrafiltration by adding glucose to the low glucose strength (1.36%) peritoneal dialysis fluid which has been instilled into the peritoneal cavity prior to the connection of the device. By maintaining a stable glucose concentration in the intraperitoneal fluid during the 5-hour treatment, the ultrafiltration can be increased compared to a standard CAPD dwell.
