There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Part 1 Patients with idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (iNPH) have variable disabilities regarding gait, balance, cognition and continence. Analysis of the gait pattern in iNPH has an important part in clinical diagnosing and evaluation of outcome after shunt surgery. The gait pattern is only partly explained and more detailed information about gait in iNPH is needed in relation with ordinary clinical measurements. Part 2 Approximately 70 % of patients with iNPH improve after shunt surgery. Commonly different grading scales and measurements regarding functions are used in the evaluation. To some extent, patients improve in Quality of life after surgery (QoL). In this study, the patient´s own grading of improvements in relation with QoL, sense of coherence (SOC) and symptoms of depression and anxiety are analyzed.
The project is a descriptive cohort study with a retrospective and a prospective group where pregnancy and childbirth data will be studied. Mothers with DM1, DM2, GDM hand-milk 2 times/day from v.36+0, freeze the colostrum they receive and bring it to delivery ward. The colostrum will then be given instead of milk substitutes for their children postpartum. The primary questions are whether there is any statistical difference between a group that provides only colostrum compared to an equal retrospective group, which has only been given milk substitutes, in the case of neonatal hypoglycemia in the first 24 hours postpartum. Secondly: 10 healthy women and 10women with DM1 will provide analysis of colostrum at week 36 of pregnancy. The secondary question is if there is any differences in colostrum whether the mother is healthy or has DMtype1
Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (=iNPH) is a condition with disturbed circulation of cerebrospinal fluid (=CSF) causing symptoms such as balance and gait disorders, urinary incontinence and cognitive impairment in patients with cerebral ventricular dilation. The exact incidence is unknown but has been estimated at about 8.9% of the population over the age of 80 and the incidence is estimated to increase with an aging population. The symptoms can be temporarily improved by draining cerebrospinal fluid and so-called shunting (surgery with diversion of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain to the abdominal cavity). The symptoms and pathophysiology of iNPH are poorly described as well as the protein distribution in cerebrospinal fluid (proteomics) of the disease. There is also a need for improved diagnostical and prognostical tools that can guide in patient selection for surgery. The radiological tools in evaluating the disease and it´s progression need to be improved. There is a shunt valve (Codman Certas Plus) used since 2015 that is widely used in clinical use and is well studied in research laboratories but little in clinical studies. The project aims to, before and after surgery, on patients with iNPH who will undergo investigation and shunting with Certas Plus at our department and in comparison with healthy controls: 1. Apply and evaluate a novel method to determine the volume of circulating CSF (volumetry). 2. Study the correlation between changes in volumetry and clinical outcome 3. Study NPH patients' distribution of proteins in cerebrospinal fluid and their change over time after shunting. 4. Evaluate the efficacy and functions of the Certas Plus valve. In this way, the investigators hope to find increased knowledge about the NPH disease and its pathophysiology as well as useful instruments that can both predict the probability for a patient to be improved by a shunt operation and determine if a shunt has stopped working and thus be able to avoid unnecessary risky operations.
The study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab deruxtecan (also known as T-DXd, DS-8201a), either alone or in combination with pertuzumab, in treating patients with Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer as a first line of treatment in the metastatic setting.
The study is designed as an open, non-randomized, phase IV cohort study in which the mRNA vaccine Comirnaty will be given in two doses. Analyses will be performed on blood and saliva, investigating humoral and cellular vaccine responses. Occurence of local or systemic reactogenicity will be evaluated, as well as adverse events. The study will include persons with primary or secondary immunosuppressive disorders, as well as immunocompetent persons, with the aim of investigating if the immune responses after given Comirnaty mRNA vaccine against COVID-19.
This is a prospective clinical trial following a paired screen-positive design, with the aims to assess the performance of an artificial intelligence (AI) computer-aided detection (CAD) algorithm as an independent reader, in addition to two radiologists, of screening mammograms in a true screening population. Since all decisions by individual readers will be recorded, it is possible to determine what the outcome would have been had one or two of the readers not been allowed to assess images, and to determine what the outcome would have been had the recall decision been performed by consensus decision (actual) compared to single reader arbitration of discordant cases.
This study is done to find out whether the medicine, semaglutide, has a positive effect on early Alzheimer's disease. Participants will either get semaglutide or placebo (a "dummy" medicine which does not contain any study medicine) - which treatment participants get is decided by an equal chance. The study will last for up to 173 weeks (about 3 years and 4 months). Participants will have 17 clinic visits and 1 phone call with the study doctor. The study includes various tests and scans. At 10 of the clinic visits participants will have blood samples taken. Participants must have a study partner, who is willing to take part in the study. Women cannot take part if pregnant, breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant during the study period. A cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sub-study will be performed as a part of the study. The sub-study will be performed on a selection of sites based on their experience with CSF sampling and willingness to participate in this sub-study. The endpoints related to this sub-study are exploratory only.

The objective of prospective RELOC-AGE is to study housing choices and relocation and to examine the effects on active ageing among people aged 55+ considering relocation. All data collection will be conducted at baseline and after 1, 3, 5 and 7 years of follow-up.
This is a multiple dose, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study of belcesiran to evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD in adult patients with PiZZ AATD-associated liver disease (AATLD). The study will be conducted in 3 separate cohorts. A total of up to 16 participants may be enrolled in Cohort 1 and 2. A total number of 30 subjects will be enrolled in cohort 3. The 3 cohorts are differentiated by the duration of the treatment period, the number of doses administered, and the timing of the second liver biopsy.
