There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The study compares regular use of surgical drains and no use of surgical drains in patients subjected to pancreaticoduodenectomy with expected low to intermediate risk for post operative pancreatic fistula.
The purpose of the Columbus-AD study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 12 months of encorafenib in combination with binimetinib in adjuvant setting of BRAF V600E/K mutant stage IIB/C melanoma versus the current standard of care (surveillance).
This is a registry and medical record based epidemiological description of patients with digitial nerve injuies in the Stockholm County, Sweden
The study was a randomized controlled trial investigating treatment effects against an active control condition. 101 self-recruited participants, aged 65 to 88 years, were included. The intervention was a 10-week internet-based tailored CBT protocol consisting of 6-10 pre-defined modules tailored to patient profile and preferences. Participants in the treatment group benefitted more than participants in the control condition on almost all measures with moderate between-group effect-sizes.
This is a Phase IIIb, single-arm, multicenter, OLE study. Participants receiving ocrelizumab as an investigational medicinal product (IMP) in a Roche sponsored Parent study who continue to receive ocrelizumab or are in safety follow-up at the time of the closure of their respective Parent study (WA21092, WA21093 or WA25046) are eligible for enrollment in this extension study. Participants who will continue ocrelizumab treatment will receive IMP based on the dosage and administration received at the time of rollover from the Parent study.
The SWEMMA trial is an open, national, multi-center, prospective, randomized (1:1), superiority trial designed to assess impact on reoperation rates for chronic subdural hematoma with a head-to-head comparison of embolization of the middle meningeal artery (intervention) with standard neurosurgical hematoma evacuation (control).
Rupture of the extensor pollicis longus, (EPL) is a common complication after distal radius fractures. A rupture prevents the thumb extension, which in turn has a negative impact on hand function. An EPL-rupture can either be surgically treated by primary suture, which means that the ends of the tendon are sutured. This is however not recommended if the tendon is weakened. In such cases the rupture can be treated by a transfer of, most often, extensor indicis proprius (EIP) to the thumb. Distal radius fractures are common and a rupture of the EPL-tendon is a known complication thar interferes with hand function and therefore more studies on this patient group are warranted. The aim of this prospective study is to compare regaining of thumb function after surgery, with the non-injured side, after primary suture and EIP-transfer after EPL-rupture as a complication following distal radius fracture.
A chronic irritation of the nasal mucosa can be painful and unpleasant for the individual. Dry nasal mucosa with scabs is a common problem but not everyone seeks care. The causes can be several such as staying for long periods in dry and dusty air, hot rooms or hot environments, tobacco smoke, side effects of drugs and mechanical irritation (nasal congestion). The nasal spray contains salic acid (neuraminic acid). This substance is found naturally in humans in the nasal mucosa which keeps it moist. Salic acid is also found, for example, in breast milk and is also found in food production. Previous studies have shown that treatment with salic acid is gentle, relieves symptoms and has a soothing and moisturising effect. The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether the symptoms of dry nose can be improved with treatment with Viiral®Nasal spray and have a soothing and moisturising effect. The treatment also aims to prevent colds caused by viruses. As a control product in the study, a nasal spray with isotonic saline solution will be used. In this study, a total of 78 women and men who have been diagnosed with dry nose / rhinitis sicca will be included in the study. After the participants have given their consent to participate in the study, treatment with the study product or control product will begin. The treatment is started by the study participants themselves at home. Two thirds will be treated with the study product and one third will be treated with a control product. Clinic visits will be performed at three occasions after the screening/baseline visit, at day 14, day 28 and on day 56.
Lymphedema of the extremities is common after lymph node surgery in treating several forms of cancer, e.g., breast cancer. However, very little is known of the occurrence of lymphedema of the lower extremities after urologic surgery with lymph node dissection. This project aims to describe the frequency and grade of lymphedema arising after urologic surgery, using the Lymphedema Quality of Life Questionnaire (LymQOL), Delfin MoistureMeter D, and lower limb volume measurements.
This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of depemokimab compared with mepolizumab in adults with relapsing or refractory EGPA receiving SoC therapy.
