Start date: May 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This randomized, parallel-group study will assess the efficacy and safety of RoActemra/Actemra (tocilizumab) versus adalimumab, both in combination with methotrexate (MTX) in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Patients, already treated with MTX at stable doses, will be randomized to receive either RoActemra/Actemra 8 mg/kg intravenously (IV) every 4 weeks or adalimumab 40 mg subcutaneous (SC) every 2 weeks. All patients will receive methotrexate (10-25 mg weekly) and folate (at least 5 mg weekly). The anticipated time on study treatment is 24 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT01283386 Terminated - Clinical trials for Lymphocytic Leukemia, Chronic

A Study to Compare Mabthera (Rituximab), Fludarabine and Cyclophosphamide to Mabthera and Chlorambucil in Participants With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Unfavorable Somatic Status

Start date: April 27, 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This multi-center, randomized study compared the efficacy and safety of MabThera (rituximab) in combination with either fludarabine and cyclophosphamide or with chlorambucil in participants with previously untreated B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia and unfavorable somatic status. Participants were randomized to receive Mabthera (375 mg/m2 intravenously [IV] Day 1 of Cycle 1, 500 mg/m2 IV Day 1 Cycles 2-6) with either fludarabine (20 mg/m2 IV or 32 mg/m2 orally Days 1-3) and cyclophosphamide (150 mg/m2 IV or orally Days 1-3) or with chlorambucil (10 mg/m2 orally Days 1-7) for 6 cycles of 28 days. Anticipated time on study treatment was 24 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT01280565 Terminated - Metastatic Melanoma Clinical Trials

Masitinib in Non-Resectable or Metastatic Stage 3/4 Melanoma Carrying a Mutation in the Juxta Membrane Domain of c-Kit

Start date: January 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The objective is to assess the efficacy and safety of masitinib at 7.5 mg/kg/day in the treatment of patients with non-resectable or metastatic stage 3 or stage 4 melanoma carrying a mutation in the juxta membrane domain of c-Kit and who have not previously been treated for melanoma.

NCT ID: NCT01277510 Terminated - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Pediatric Chronic Kidney Disease Safety and Efficacy

Start date: June 28, 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of adding cinacalcet to the current treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in children currently receiving dialysis compared to a treatment regimen that does not include cinacalcet.

NCT ID: NCT01271010 Terminated - Clinical trials for Lymphocytic Leukemia, Chronic

A Study of Rituximab in Combination With Fludarabine and Cyclophosphamide in Participants With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Favorable Somatic Status

Start date: June 17, 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This multi-center, single-arm study evaluated the efficacy and safety of rituximab in combination with fludarabine and cyclophosphamide in participants with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and favorable somatic status.

NCT ID: NCT01264887 Terminated - Pain Clinical Trials

Tapentadol in Chronic Malignant Tumour Related Pain

Start date: March 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this trial is the characterization of the long term safety profile and long-term dose requirements of tapentadol PR (prolonged release) in patients with malignant tumor-related pain. In the United States the prolonged-release formulation is also referred to as the extended-release formulation.

NCT ID: NCT01264770 Terminated - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of Fostamatinib Monotherapy Compared With Adalimumab Monotherapy in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

OSKIRA -4
Start date: January 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the improvements in signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for fostamatinib compared to placebo or adalimumab in patients who are Disease-Modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) naïve, DMARD intolerant or have had an inadequate response to DMARDs. The study will last for approximately six months
