Individualization of Nutritive Sensory Support Of Radiation Therapy

Nutritional deficiency and subsequent weight loss in patients with head and neck cancer is a common problem and a negative predictor of treatment outcomes and mortality, as well as quality of life. Nutritional support for patients is a prerequisite for the successful management of cancer patients. Sensory changes can be side effects of chemotherapy or ionizing radiation, which damages sensory receptors in the area of radiation, disrupts the function of the salivary glands, leading to hyposalivation and a decrease in taste. Individual choice of nutrition based on sensory sensations can significantly improve the quality of life of patients and ensure timely correction of their eating behavior.

The study of plasticity processes, in particular, memory, is one of the fundamental directions in anesthesiology. To date, there are different views on the impact of sedation and anesthesia on memory. Memory consolidation is one of the most crucial processes that the anesthesiologist is interested in. Memory consolidation is the mechanism of transferring short-term memory to long-term memory. The investigators suppose that propofol or dexmedetomidine sedation disrupts memory consolidation. In addition, the investigators inquired about the impact of sedation on 'working memory'. Therefore, a better understanding of the influence of anesthesia and sedation on basic memory processes will allow the anesthesiologist to balance the choice of the drug and ensure the patient's safety in the intraoperative period.

COVID-19 Morbidity in Healthcare Workers and Vitamin D Supplementation

[Aim] Purpose of the study: to analyze the effect of vitamin D supplementation in reducing COVID-19 morbidity and severity in healthcare workers. The study will involve a minimum of 120 medical staff. All participants in the study will assess twice for serum 25(OH)D level: baseline and after 3 months of Vitamin D supplementation. After the baseline examination, the subjects will be randomized into 2 groups. In the first (No. 1), vitamin D therapy will initiate at a dosage of 50,000 IU on the first and second week, followed by a switch to a daily intake of 5,000 IU for 3 months. In the second group (No. 2), vitamin D therapy will prescribe for 3 months at a dosage of 2,000 IU/day. After 3 months of vitamin D supplementation, all participants will undergo to repeat testing of serum 25(OH)D level with an assessment of the effectiveness of the therapy. Body mass index (BMI), height, weight, SARS-CoV-2 antibodies (IgG), 25-hydroxycalciferol (25(OH)D) and presence of acute viral infection futures, parameters assessed after treatment.

Research Study to Investigate How Well Semaglutide Tablets Taken Once Daily Work in People Who Are Overweight or Living With Obesity (OASIS 1)

This study is being conducted to see if semaglutide tablets can be used as a treatment to help people living with overweight or obesity lose weight. This study will look at the change in participants body weight. Participants will either get semaglutide tablets (new medicine) or placebo tablets ('dummy' medicine that looks like semaglutide but has no effect on the body). For a fair comparison, people are divided into two groups at random by a computer. This process is called randomisation. Semaglutide tablets are new medicine being tested to treat overweight and obesity. Doctors in many countries can already prescribe semaglutide tablets at lower doses to treat type 2 diabetes. Participants will get semaglutide or placebo tablets for 68 weeks and will need to take 1 tablet every morning In addition to taking the medicine, participants will have talks with study staff about: - healthy food choices - how to be more physically active - what participants can do to lose weight The study will last for about 1½ year.Participants will have 14 clinic visits and 7 phone calls with the study doctor. Blood samples will be taken at 10 visits. Participants will have a test to check their heart done at 3 visits. Women cannot take part if pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to get pregnant during the study period. If participant is a woman and is able to become pregnant, participant will be checked for pregnancy via urine tests.

The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of ХС221 at 100 mg and at 200 mg in comparison with placebo regarding its effect on the severity and duration of influenza symptoms and symptoms of other viral URIs (fever and other major signs and symptoms).
