NCT ID: NCT05078866 Recruiting - Lynch Syndrome Clinical Trials

Cancer Preventive Vaccine Nous-209 for Lynch Syndrome Patients

Start date: November 10, 2022
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase Ib/II trial evaluates the safety and effect of the Nous-209 vaccine in Lynch syndrome patients. Lynch syndrome is an inherited disorder in which affected individuals have a higher-than-normal chance of developing colorectal cancer and certain other types of cancer, often before the age of 50. In Lynch syndrome, errors in the genetic information inside cells are not properly corrected. When that happens, the cells produce new proteins called neoantigens. Neoantigens are recognized by the body's immune system as foreign, and the body tries to get rid of them. Nous-209 is a vaccine made with man-made copies of some of those neoantigens. This trial aims to see whether the Nous-209 vaccine is safe to give to patients with Lynch syndrome, whether people are able to take the Nous-209 vaccine without becoming too uncomfortable, and how the immune system of patients with Lynch syndrome respond to the Nous-209 vaccine. This trial may help researchers determine whether receiving Nous-209 have an effect on the development of polyps or tumors in the colon.

NCT ID: NCT05074264 Recruiting - HIV Infection Clinical Trials

Screening Algorithms for Cervical and Anal High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions in People With HIV in Mexico and Puerto Rico

CAMPO-101
Start date: November 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial aims to find what different tests work best to find high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) in the cervix or anus in patients living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Patients with HIV are at high risk of becoming infected with human papillomavirus (HPV) in the cervix or anus where it can turn into cancer over several years. HPV causes changes to the cervix and anus, known as HSIL. This means that there is an area of abnormal tissue on the top layers of the cervix or anus. It is considered cervical or anal cancer if the abnormality spreads down into the layers of tissue below the top. If found early, many cases of HSIL can be treated before turning into cancer. Screening for cervical or anal cancer detection or HSIL associated with HPV may result in earlier treatment, if necessary, for patients living with HIV.

NCT ID: NCT05071716 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatic Encephalopathy

Study to Assess Rifaximin Soluble Solid Dispersion (SSD) for the Delay of Encephalopathy Decompensation in Cirrhosis

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study RNLC3131 is a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study to assess the efficacy and safety of rifaximin SSD-40mg IR for the delay of the first episode of overt hepatic encephalopathy (OHE) decompensation in liver cirrhosis, defined by the presence of medically controlled ascites.

NCT ID: NCT05068284 Terminated - Crohn's Disease Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate Adverse Events and Change in Disease Activity in Participants Between 18 to 75 Years of Age Treated With Intravenous (IV) Infusion and Subcutaneous (SC) Injections of ABBV-154 for Moderately to Severely Active Crohn's Disease

AIM-CD
Start date: January 31, 2022
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Crohn's disease (CD) is a long-lasting condition causing inflammation that can affect any part of the gut. CD may cause tiredness, loose stools with or without bleeding, abdominal pain, weight loss, and fever. This study evaluates how safe and effective ABBV-154 is in participants treated for moderately to severely active CD. Adverse events and change in the disease activity will be assessed. ABBV-154 is an investigational drug being evaluated for the treatment of CD. In the induction period, there is a 1 in 5 chance that participants will be assigned to placebo. Depending on the dose received in the induction period, there is a 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 chance that participants will be assigned to placebo in the maintenance period. Around 265 participants 18-75 years of age with moderately to severely active CD will be enrolled in the study at approximately 200 sites worldwide. The study is compromised of a 12-week double-blind, placebo-controlled induction period, followed by either a 12-week double-blind re-induction period for non-responders or a 40-week double-blind placebo-controlled maintenance period for responders. In the maintenance period, responders will be randomized to receive subcutaneous placebo or ABBV-154 in 2 different doses every other week. Participants in the placebo group who are initial responders will receive ABBV-154 in the maintenance period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care due to study procedures. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
