There are about 9702 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Poland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Due to the increasing number of reports of cancer progression in people undergoing surgery under general anesthesia using opioids, OFA is believed to have a favorable long-term prognostic effect, especially in cancer patients. The opioid-free protocol is also used in postoperative analgesia. It is estimated that up to 75% of surgical patients experience chronic postoperative pain, which has a particularly negative impact on the quality of life. The investigators would like to compare pain during the first 48 postoperative hours of patients undergoing abdominal surgery who would be anesthetized with opioids and without opioids (patients would be randomly assigned to a group) (1, 2, 6, 12, 24 and 48 h after operations). A secondary objective will be to measure total oxycodone consumption in the postoperative period in both groups. Other secondary objectives: assessment of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
The purpose of this study is to investigate how topical diclofenac use can improve functional mobility and physical activity primarily, as well as other quality-of-life (QoL) parameters such as sleep, mood, and engagement in daily activities in participants with knee OA.
Osteoporosis is a systemic condition characterized by low bone mass and altered bone tissue microarchitecture, with the resulting greater bone fragility leading to fractures. Osteoporosis develops as a result of genetic and environmental factors, with the patient's lifestyle playing an important role. Recent years saw an emergence of reports on the significance of the intestinal microbiota in the development of osteoporosis, thus new ways of modifying the composition and activity of microbiota have been sought, and the potential role of probiotics has been considered. Probiotics are defined as live microorganisms, which-when administered at appropriate doses-are beneficial to the host's health. Probiotics both modify the gut microbiota composition and directly affect the human body. Recently published clinical studies demonstrated that probiotics may facilitate osteoporosis treatment and prevention. The current randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study will assess the effect of a dietary intervention via oral supplementation of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus paracasei in a population of Polish postmenopausal women on their bone mineral density assessed via bone densitometry-derived T-scores of the lumbar segment of the spine (L1-L4). Study subjects will take the provided probiotic formulation/placebo orally once daily for 12 months.
Misophonia is a disorder causing intense reactions to specific sounds, disrupting daily life. Current treatments lack evidence-based support. The goal of this study is to explore the effectiveness of cognitive reappraisal (CR) in reducing misophonic responses. The study involves 100 participants assigned to either a 4-week CR program or Autogenic Training. Emotional regulation, symptoms of anxiety and depression, quality of life, and more will be assessed using various questionnaire-based measures; perseverations with a task-based test (Wisconsin Card Sorting Test); the presence of psychiatric and personality disorders using face-to-face interviews (The Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I.) and "Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5® Personality Disorders" (SCID-5-PD)
The study aimed to check the 2000m ergometer test on markers of gut permeability in the competitive phase of rowers. 18 members of the Polish rowing team took part in the study.
Intermittent and continuous theta-burst stimulation (iTBS and cTBS respectively) are the newer modalities of transcranial magnetic stimulation with documented efficacy in treatment of depressed mood but with conflicting results regarding their efficacy in treatment of other symptoms of depression such as insomnia, daytime sleepiness and fatigue. This study will investigate the efficacy of iTBS over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and cTBS over the right DLPFC, compared to sham stimulation, in treatment of insomnia, daytime sleepiness and fatigue in depression.
This Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, multicenter, induction and maintenance study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of RVT-3101 in adult participants with moderate to severe active Crohn's disease.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tocilizumab as second/third line treatment in patients with Active Moderate-to-Severe Corticosteroid-Resistant Thyroid Eye Disease.
The study aims to comparatively assess clinical parameters, biochemical and microbiological parameters after treatment of periodontitis using subgingival mechanotherapy traditional and subgingival mechanotherapy using a perioscope.
Microsurgical coronally advanced tunnel procedures using subepithelial connective tissue grafts (sCTG) are predictable for healing of multiple adjacent type 1 and 2 gingival recessions (RT1 and RT2). In order to reduce patient morbidity and enhance periodontal wound healing with sCTG can be used. The aim of this study is to compare the results of the modified tunneling technique with subepithelial connective tissue graft in gingival recessions placed with the inner side towards the flap cover graft and the outer side towards the flap cover graft.
