There are about 354 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Panama. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
A new minimally invasive procedure for treating presbyopia is being evaluated to determine if there is improvement in near and intermediate vision after treatment
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, reactogenicity and immune response of a single intramuscular dose of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) maternal vaccine compared to placebo, when administered in the second or third trimester of pregnancy in women, 15 to 49 years of age (YOA), with high risk pregnancies and in the infants born to the vaccinated mothers. Following a recommendation from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee of NCT04605159 (RSV MAT 009), GSK made the decision to stop enrolment and vaccination in the study. Ongoing study participants at that time continued to be monitored as part of the study.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ability of a single dose of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine, administered intramuscularly (IM) to pregnant women aged 18-49 years, in good general maternal health, in preventing medically assessed RSV associated Lower Respiratory Tract Illnesses (LRTIs) in infants born to vaccinated mothers. The study will also evaluate the safety of the investigational RSV Maternal vaccine both in vaccinated mothers and in their corresponding infant. Following a recommendation from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee of NCT04605159 (RSV MAT 009), GSK made the decision to stop enrolment and vaccination in the study. Ongoing study participants will continue to be monitored as part of the study.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of rilematovir compared to placebo treatment with respect to the clinical outcome on the RSV Recovery Scale (RRS).
The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety and effects of the study medicine (sisunatovir). Sisunatovir is developed as potential treatment of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections. This study will assess sisunatovir as compared to placebo in infants aged 1 month to 36 months who are hospitalized with RSV lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI). A placebo looks like the study medicine but does not contain any active medicine in it. This study will be conducted in 3 parts: In Part A participants aged 6 months to 3 years will be given a single dose of 2.5 mg/kg of sisunatovir in Cohort 1. In Cohort 2, participants age 1 month to 6 months will receive a single dose of 2 mg/kg of sisunatovir only after the completion of Cohort 1. 12-24 participants will be enrolled in Part A In Part B participants age 1 month to 36 months will receive sisunatovir or placebo dosed every 12 hours for 5 days. Doses for part B will be determined after the completion of Part A. 24-40 participants will be enrolled in Part B. The dose regimen for Part C will be determined after the completion of Part B. Approximately 120 participants age 1 month to 36 months will receive either sisunatovir or placebo. To participate in this study participants must meet the following criteria: 1. Age 1 month to 36 months 2. Weight ≥ 3.5 kg 3. Diagnosis of LRTI 4. Diagnosis of RSV 5. Hospitalization due to RSV LRTI
The primary purpose of the study was to compare the efficacy and safety of canakinumab versus placebo as adjuvant therapy in adult subjects with stages II -IIIA according to the 8th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC)/Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the subset of IIIB (T>5cm N2 disease) completely resected (R0) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The purpose of this study is to select the optimal antigen dosage of the three Sabin poliovirus strains (types 1, 2, and 3) entering the composition of the stand-alone trivalent Sabin-based inactivated poliomyelitis vaccine (sIPV) to take forward into advanced stage studies. The selection will be carried out comparing the three sIPV study arms based on the safety and tolerability profile after each dose of primary immunization and the immune response to poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 for both Sabin and Salk strains, after the final dose of a three dose primary immunization series (Day 85).
The clinical characteristics, initial presentation, management, and outcomes of patients hospitalized with new-onset (first diagnosis) heart failure (HF) or decompensation of chronic HF are poorly understood worldwide. REPORT-HF is a global, prospective, and observational HF disease registry designed to characterize patient trajectories longitudinally during and following an index hospitalization for acute HF.
This is a multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study designed to compare overall survival in participants with relapsed or refractory AML treated with idasanutlin in combination with cytarabine versus participants treated with placebo and cytarabine. Participants will receive induction treatment with idasanutlin/placebo and cytarabine (Cycle 1). Responding participants may continue to receive a maximum of further two cycles of consolidation (Cycle 2 and Cycle 3). Complete remission (CR), CR with incomplete platelet count recovery (CRp), overall remission rate (ORR), event-free survival (EFS) and percentage of participants with an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) will also be compared between treatment arms. This study will include participants with and without TP53 wild type (TP53 WT) mutations.
