NCT ID: NCT06197048 Recruiting - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Effect of Nutritional Counseling on Anthropometry and Biomarkers in Patients Diagnosed With Schizophrenia/Psychosis or Bipolar Affective Disorder

Start date: September 25, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effect of nutritional counseling versus no treatment in patients with schizophenia or bipolar affective disorder. The main question it aims to answer are: • Can nutritional counseling have a preventive effect on the development of cardiovascular disease in patients with schizophenia or bipolar affective disorder? Participants will meet a nutritionist at baseline to asess nutritional status, biochemical and anthropometric measurements. Then, half of the study population will receive nutritional counseling. After six weeks, the same baseline measurements will be repeated to examine any potential differences between the two groups. After the intervention, the control group will be offered the same counseling as the intervention group received during the study.

NCT ID: NCT06194045 Recruiting - Atopic Dermatitis Clinical Trials

Nutritional Study to Determine the Effect of Fish Oil on Atopic Dermatitis

CetoSkin
Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Atopic Dermatitis is associated with pronounced changes in the lipid composition in the skin. The lipid changes are influenced by and contributing to both the inflammatory circuit and the impaired barrier as well as changes in the skin microbiome This nutritional study will investigate the effect of long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid Cetoleic acid on atoptic dermatitis. Earlier studies have shown a anti-inflammatory effect of celoteic acid.

NCT ID: NCT06193200 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ataxia Telangiectasia

To Evaluate the Effects of EryDex in Patients With A-T

NEAT
Start date: June 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is an international, multi-center, randomized, prospective, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase 3 study, designed to assess the effect of EryDex (dexamethasone sodium phosphate [DSP] in autologous erythrocytes), administered by intravenous (IV) infusion once every 28 days, on neurological symptoms of patients with Ataxia Telangectasia (A-T).

NCT ID: NCT06186973 Recruiting - Labor Pain Clinical Trials

Fetal Assessment of the Myocardium and Evaluation of the Neonate

FAME-n
Start date: November 14, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

FAME-n aims to improve perinatal care by introducing new approaches to fetal and neonatal heart assessment. Better identification of high-risk deliveries requiring intervention will reduce perinatal asphyxia-related illness and death. Neonatal hemodynamics may be improved by early detection of instability of the heart and circulation. Innovative use of technology enables characterization of normal and abnormal cardiovascular transition in a significantly larger number of fetuses and newborn infants than what was previously possible. The methods used may have broad generalizability and applicability in perinatal, neonatal and pediatric medicine. In September 2023, the project was expanded with an obstetric arm called Epidural analgesia: Fetal Oxygenation and Maternal Oxygenation (Epi-FOMO). In Epi-FOMO, the relationship between maternal breathing and arterial blood gases during labour, and umbilical cord blood gases and neonatal outcomes (as specified in FAME-n) will be investigated.

NCT ID: NCT06183931 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy

Study of ALXN2220 Versus Placebo in Adults With ATTR-CM

DepleTTR-CM
Start date: January 11, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of ALXN2220 in the treatment of adult participants with ATTR-CM by evaluating the difference between the ALXN2220 and placebo groups as assessed by the composite endpoint of all-cause mortality (ACM) and total cardiovascular (CV) clinical events.

NCT ID: NCT06183489 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Smoldering Multiple Myeloma

Use of Elranatamab in Patients With High-risk Smoldering Multiple Myeloma

ERASMM
Start date: May 14, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter, single arm, open-label, Phase 2 study in high risk smoldering myeloma patients. The primary objective is to determine the efficacy of Elranatamab in patients with previously untreated high-risk SMM. The key-secondary objective is to determine the safety of Elranatamab in patients with previously untreated high-risk SMM.

NCT ID: NCT06177509 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

Effect of Graded Aerobic Exercise in Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

Start date: November 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There is a paucity of knowledge about mechanisms behind mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) subgroup's sustained problems, and effective interventions that can alleviate this disabling condition. Persistent Post-concussive Symptoms (PCS) affect between 20% and 30% of individuals after mTBI. This Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) will investigate whether graded aerobic exercise has a positive effect on symptom burden (including exercise intolerance) and Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) dysfunction in patients with PCS. This study will expand upon previous work on adolescents with sport-related concussion in the acute phase. It will cover a wider age group and will include patients with persisting symptoms, thus providing knowledge on whether a sub-symptom threshold aerobic exercise program will alleviate symptom burden in adult patients with PCS. Furthermore - looking into the relationship between mTBI and ANS function, this study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the neurobiological factors involved in PCS. The results may also help developing targeted interventions to specific characteristics in persistent symptoms after mTBI.

NCT ID: NCT06172335 Recruiting - Metabolic Syndrome Clinical Trials

Effects of Cetoleic Acid on Atherosclerosis (Ketolinsyre's Effekt på Aterosklerose)

Start date: January 3, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) we want to study the effect of an oil with high concentrations of cetoelic acid (C22:n1-11) (intervention) compared to supplements with a low concentration of cetoleic acid (control), but with equivalent content of EPA og DHA, on plasma levels of epa and dha as well as atherosclerotic markers, glucose, c-peptide and triglycerides in a patient group with a metabolically unfavorable phenotype. Our primary endpoints are changes in the concentration of EPA and DHA in plasma.

NCT ID: NCT06169488 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Low-back Pain

The Lumbar Interbody Fusion vs. Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation (LIFEHAB) Trial

LIFEHAB
Start date: April 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to compare lumbar interbody fusion surgery with multidisciplinary rehabilitation in participants aged 20-65 years with persisting (≥ one year) low back pain. The main question it aims to answer is: • Is lumbar fusion surgery superior to multidisciplinary rehabilitation in alleviating persisting low back pain? Participants will be randomized to either lumbar interbody fusion surgery or a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program. If randomized to lumbar fusion interbody surgery, the participants will: - undergo radiologic examinations, including X-ray, MRI, and MRI spectroscopy - provide blood samples at four intervals including postoperatively - complete PROMs at five intervals - have their activity monitored through the ActivePAL accelerometer - undergo lumbar fusion surgery If randomized to multidisciplinary rehabilitation, the participants will: - undergo radiologic examinations, including X-ray, MRI, and MRI spectroscopy - provide blood samples at three intervals - complete PROMs at five intervals - have their activity monitored through the ActivePAL accelerometer - undergo multidisciplinary rehabilitation
