Dose Escalation Study of Lithium With Oxaliplatin and Capecitabine in Advanced Oesophago-Gastric or Colorectal Cancer

This study is a phase Ib, open label, multi-centre trial designed to estimate the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) of lithium when combined with a standard chemotherapy regimen of oxaliplatin and capecitabine in patients with advanced, unresectable, oesophago-gastric or colorectal cancer who have received no previous treatment for advanced disease (previous adjuvant or neo-adjuvant treatment is acceptable if completed at least 6 months prior to registration). The study follows a modified Fibonacci, 3+3, dose escalation design. Patients are enrolled in cohorts of 3. All three patients in each cohort must complete at least two cycles of treatment to be evaluable for toxicity. If a patient cannot complete 2 cycles, another patient will be enrolled.

Early hemodynamic effects (within 3 hours of life) of Delayed Cord Clamping compared to Umbilical Cord Milking are still unknown. Four sites experienced in the use of NIRS and who have appropriate data collection equipment in the delivery room (Alberta, Ulm, Cork and San Diego) will obtain and report the physiological changes with UCM and DCC from birth until 24 hours of life. This data will yield the largest available sample of continuously recorded heart rate, cerebral tissue oxygenation, peripheral oxygen saturation, airway pressure, and administered FiO2 to delineate the short term responses to two methods of placental transfusion. In our initial trial we demonstrated increased blood pressure from 3-15 HOL with UCM compared to DCC in premature newborns <32 weeks, but did not show any differences in cerebral oxygenation.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in the adjuvant treatment of adult participants who have undergone nephrectomy and have intermediate-high risk, high risk, or M1 no evidence of disease (M1 NED) renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with clear cell component. The primary study hypothesis is that pembrolizumab is superior to placebo with respect to Disease-free Survival (DFS) as assessed by the Investigator in male and female participants with intermediate-high risk, high risk and M1 NED RCC.

The ASPIREX®S Endovascular System is a rotating and aspirating catheter system. It is intended to be used for the percutaneous transluminal removal of fresh thrombotic or thromboembolic material from native blood vessels (or vessels fitted with stents, stent grafts or native or artificial bypasses) outside the cardiopulmonary, coronary and cerebral circulations. CAPTUREX® , a catheter with a filter basket, is intended to be used for the filtering of emboli from blood vessels during potentially embolizing procedures on the patient. ASPIREX®S and CAPTUREX® are CE-marked (Class III) medical devices. In this study the effectiveness and safety in the removal of thrombi in veins is assessed under real life setting.

A Safety Study of Lenalidomide in Previously Untreated Adult Multiple Myeloma Patients Who Are Not Eligible for Transplant

This post authorization safety study is designed as prospective non interventional study for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma who are not eligible for transplant. The objective is to compare the incidence of cardiovascular events between patients treated with a first-line lenalidomide containing regimen and those treated with a first-line non-lenalidomide containing regimen. Treatment in both cohorts will be done according to standard care. The study will gather risk factor information at baseline and throughout follow-up. Any cardiovascular event occurring will be assessed by an independent committee. Other safety endpoints will be collected through standard procedures. Observation period will be 3 years on treatment, with an additional evaluation of cardiovascular events 6 months' post treatment and a follow up period until 5 years after inclusion. During follow up the incidence of second primary malignancies (SPM) and overall survival will be assessed.
