There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To describe the time course of hemoglobin concentration in EU hemodialysis patients switched from methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta (PEG epoetin beta; Mircera) to darbepoetin alfa (Aranesp).
The purpose of this study is to determine if eculizumab is safe and effective for the treatment of refractory generalized Myasthenia Gravis.
The aim of the Mashed Or Just Integral pill of TicagrelOr (MOJITO) study is to evaluate the superiority of Ticagrelor 180 mg LD mashed pill versus Ticagrelor 180 mg LD integral pill both orally administrated in decreasing residual platelet reactivity 1 hour after the administration among 70 patients with STEMI (ST segment elevation myocardial infarction) undergoing PPCI (primary percutaneous coronary intervention) with bivalirudin monotherapy.
Antiplatelet therapy with aspirin-clopidogrel reduces the risk of cardiovascular episodes after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with acute coronary syndromes. However, a significant number of patients experience recurrent events while on such therapy. The individual response to dual antiplatelet therapy is not uniform, and consistent findings across multiple investigations support the association between a lower degree of platelet inhibition, high on-treatment platelet reactivity, and the occurrence of atherothrombotic events [1, 2]. Particularly in diabetic patients, clopidogrel resistance is more prevalent compared with non-diabetics [3,4], which seems to contribute to the increased atherothrombotic risk in these patients compared with those without diabetes mellitus (DM) [5]. A number of platelet function instruments have now become available that are simple to use and can be utilized as point-of-care (POC) instruments in order to monitor antiplatelet therapy and potentially assess the risk of a recurrent event [6].
The current study will compare the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics and immunogenicity of PF-05280014 in combination with paclitaxel versus trastuzumab sourced from the European Union (trastuzumab-EU) with paclitaxel in female patients with HER2-positive, metastatic breast cancer in the first-line treatment setting. The hypothesis to be tested in this study is that the efficacy (ORR) of PF-05280014 is similar to trastuzumab-EU.
The aim of this study was to compare the acute effects of second hand smoke exposure between nasal and oral breathing and to assess the potential protective role of the nose during acute exposure, in exposure conditions similar to those within a bar where smoking is permitted.
Irisin, a newly discovered myokine induced in exercise, has potential effects in stimulating adipose tissue browning, fighting obesity and diabetes. No prior study has reported on the role of circulating irisin in healthy individuals in correlation with lean and fat body mass. Furthermore, the circadian and seasonal variation of irisin is largely unknown.
In this trial investigators propose to assess the dose dense, G-CSF supported sequential administration of 4 cycles of FEC followed by 4 cycles of docetaxel versus 6 cycles of docetaxel/cyclophosphamide as adjuvant chemotherapy in women with HER-2 negative, axillary lymph node positive breast cancer
Cow Milk Allergy (CMA) occurs in 2 to 5 % of all infants. Reflux, regurgitation and vomiting are well recognised symptoms of CMA. The recommended treatment of CMA is an extensive hydrolysate. The North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) & the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) reflux guidelines have no strict recommendations for the treatment of distressed infants with reflux, suspected of CMA. One of the preferred proposed options is to thicken an extensive hydrolysate . This study aims at evaluating the additional value of a thickened extensive hydrolysate in children suspected of CMA and presenting with frequent regurgitation.
The main goal of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of glycopyrronium bromide and indacaterol maleate and glycopyrronium bromide fixed dose combination (FDC) in patients with moderate COPD who switch from their current COPD therapy. This study aims to provide data on how non-exacerbating, but still symptomatic patients with moderate COPD switching from their current COPD treatment to glycopyrronium bromide or indacaterol maleate and glycopyrronium bromide FDC maintain or improve their symptoms. Another purpose of this study is to increase awareness and usage of validated COPD symptoms tools and dyspnea questionnaires in order to facilitate clinical assessment and improve early diagnosis of symptomatic patients.
