There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The term or definition of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) defines a pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder in which deficits in communication and social interaction, altered sensorimotor behaviours, repetitive, restricted and stereotyped interests and activities are observed. One of the disorders most frequently associated with ASD, and which most affects the quality of life of the child and his or her family, is sleep disorders; it is estimated that between 50 and 80 percent of children with ASD present this alteration and generally continue to suffer from it in adolescence and adulthood; It has also been observed that there is a correlation between sleep problems and an increase in aggressive behaviour, social and emotional deficits and deficits in activities of daily living, which severely affects the child and his or her close family environment; they become emotionally destabilised in a notorious way, and this has a negative impact on their work and productive environment. The microcurrents generated by the non-invasive neuromodulation device introduce, by means of a non-invasive technique (surface electrodes), electrical energy to normalise the nervous stimulus. This makes it an excellent complementary treatment to the activity of rehabilitation treatment. Its effects are achieved by establishing several input nerve pathways corresponding to the body's dermis, through which the signals are intellectualised in time-space. These signals are the basis for achieving normalisation of the nerve impulse by means of microcurrents.
The aims of this school-based cycling intervention called "ENERGY Commuting to school" (ENERGYCO) will be divided into two phases: Phase I will aim: 1) to design, test, and validate predictive equations for the objective quantification of the energy expenditure related to different modes of commuting to school (i.e., walking, cycling, motorized-vehicle); and 2) to quantify the energy expenditure of each mode of commuting to school using indirect calorimetry in adolescents; and Phase II will aim to evaluate the effect of a school-based cycling intervention on different health-related outcomes, such as energy expenditure, resting metabolic rate, basal metabolism, physical activity levels, body composition, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory fitness, blood pressure, physical literacy, motor competence, and psychosocial outcomes on Spanish adolescents.
This is a prospective, open-label, single arm 3-year clinical study to describe the short-term and long-term efficacy and safety of belimumab in participants with autoantibody positive early SLE with ongoing disease activity despite stable initial SLE therapy.
This is a long-term, multicenter, non-interventional study of children ages 2.5 to <17 years with hypochondroplasia (HCH).
Childhood obesity is a global public health issue, with rising prevalence rates. In Spain, the problem is significant, particularly in the southern regions. Factors contributing to childhood obesity include dietary habits, lack of physical activity, and socioeconomic influences. Efforts to address childhood obesity in Spain include various programs focusing on dietary modification, increased physical activity, and family involvement. Despite these initiatives, there is a need for continued intervention, as changing dietary and lifestyle patterns have led to reduced fruit and vegetable consumption and increased sedentary behavior among children. Childhood obesity has concerning health implications, including heart-related issues. Echocardiography plays a vital role in early detection. Given the limited research on the impact of childhood obesity on musculoskeletal development and mobility, a comprehensive study is needed to analyze its prevalence and associated factors. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of nutritional interventions administered by school nurses. In summary, childhood obesity in Spain is a growing concern, with multifaceted causes and health implications. Ongoing efforts are required to combat this issue and promote healthier lifestyles among children.
The study will look at the effects of NNC0194-0499, cagrilintide and semaglutide, on liver damage and alcohol use in participants with alcoholic liver disease. Participants will get NNC0194-0499, semaglutide, cagrilintide or "dummy" medicine in different treatment combinations. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. The study will last for about 39 weeks.
Objective: To evaluate postoperative pain and quality of life in relation to oral health after obtaining a palatal de-epithelialized gingival graft and subsequent coverage of the surgical wound with an adhesive film of cellulose and fluid composite versus a palatal plate or covering with cyanoacrylate. Study design: Randomized controlled study. Patients: Patients who require a de-epithelialized gingival graft will be selected from two private clinics in the Community of Madrid. Allocation: Patients will be randomly assigned to the study group (cellulose film and flowable composite), control group 1 (palatal plank) or control group 2 (cyanoacrylate coverage). Variables: Postoperative pain will be recorded using a 10 cm visual analogue scale (VAS) and analgesic consumption will be noted. Quality of life in relation to oral health will be recorded using the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) questionnaire. Analysis plan: Descriptive statistics will be used to describe patient characteristics. The possible differences between the 3 study groups will be evaluated using parametric or non-parametric tests depending on the distribution of the variables.
Investigation of the efficacy of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for the psychological treatment of problematic chemsex. As a pilot study, the intervention will be tested in a small group.
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an ultra-rare sarcoma, marked by distinctive molecular and pathological features and with a variable clinical behavior. Its natural history is still partially understood, reliable prognostic and predictive factors are lacking and many questions are still open on the optimal management. In the context of EURACAN, a prospective registry specifically dedicated to EHE was developed and launched with the aim of providing, through high-quality prospective data collection, a better understanding of this disease. The study design is a registry-based cohort study including only new cases of patients with a pathological and molecularly confirmed diagnosis of EHE. The objectives are to improve the understanding of EHE natural history, validate and identify new prognostic and predictive factors, clarify the activity and efficacy of currently available treatment options, describe treatment pattern. It is an hospital-based registry established in centres with expertise in EHE including adult patients with a new pathological and molecularly confirmed diagnosis of EHE starting from the 1st December 2023. The characteristics of each patient in the facility who meets the above-mentioned inclusion criteria will be collected prospectively and longitudinally with follow-up at cancer progression and / or cancer relapse or patient death. The data analyses will include descriptive statistics and analytical analyses. Multivariable Cox's proportional hazards model and Hazard ratios (HR) for all-cause or cause-specific mortality will be used to determine independent predictors of overall survival, recurrence and progression. The registry has been joined by 21 sarcoma reference centers across EU and UK, covering 10 countries. Patients' recruitment started in December 2023. The estimated completion date is December 2033 upon agreement on the achievement of all the registry objectives. The already established collaboration and participation of EHE patient's associations involved in the project will help in promoting the registry and fostering accrual. This registry has been developed with the support of EHE Rare Cancer Charity UK, STATER (Grant Agreement number: 947604, HP-PJ-2019) and EURACAN 2022 (Grant Agreement number: 101085486, EU4H-2022-ERN-IBA) European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA)
Phase I/II, controlled, open-label, randomized, single site clinical trial to assess the safety and feasibility, as well as hint efficacy evidence of a bioengineered palate mucosa substitute on nanostructured fibrin-agarose scaffolds with autologous mucosa tissue-specific cells (culture-expanded fibroblasts and keratinocytes), for tissue replacement and repair of donor area after the reconstruction of palate cleft defects (staphylorraphy), in comparison with standard care for donor mucosa.
