There are about 189 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Ecuador. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This single arm study will assess the safety of MabThera plus methotrexate in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who have had a lack of response to 1-5 DMARDs or biological agents. Patients will receive MabThera (1g i.v.) on days 1 and 15, concomitantly with methotrexate >=15mg p.o./week. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
Primary Objective: - To assess the sexual function improvement from baseline to the end of treatment (Week 24 or premature withdrawal (PW)) with XATRAL 10mg OD. Secondary Objective: - To evaluate the association between Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) severity and sexual disorders, - To compare the improvement in sexual function, urinary symptoms and Quality of Life among the different regions, - To correlate MSHQ (Male Sexual Health Questionnaire) and IIEF-5 (the 5-Item version of the International Index of Erectile Function), - To assess the onset of action of XATRAL 10mg OD, - To assess the peak flow rate improvement (Qmax), - To assess the safety and the tolerability of XATRAL 10mg OD.
This 2-arm study was designed to compare the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab (Avastin) in combination with rituximab (MabThera) and CHOP (cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunorubicin [doxorubicin], Oncovin [vincristine], prednisone) chemotherapy (R-CHOP) versus rituximab plus CHOP chemotherapy (R-CHOP) in previously untreated patients with CD20-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Patients were randomized to receive 8 cycles of treatment with R-CHOP plus bevacizumab or R-CHOP plus placebo. Treatment with bevacizumab/placebo and R-CHOP was given either on a 2-week or 3-week schedule and bevacizumab was given at a weekly average dose of 5 mg/kg (10 mg/kg for 2-week cycles and 15 mg/kg for 3-week cycles).
The purpose of this study is to determine whether daily use of emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (FTC/TDF) can prevent HIV infection in men who also receive HIV counseling, condoms, and treatment for other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
This single arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of Avastin combined with platinum-containing chemotherapy regimens in patients with advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Avastin will be given as first-line treatment in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy or in combination with any standard of care NSCLC first-line chemotherapy used in line with the licensed national prescribing information. Eligible patients will receive Avastin (15mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle) concomitantly with chemotherapy. Avastin treatment will continue after completion of chemotherapy cycles until disease progression, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
This single arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of a regimen of Avastin plus a taxane, with or without additional chemotherapy, as first-line treatment in patients with locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer. All patients will receive Avastin (10mg/kg iv every 2 weeks, or 15 mg/kg iv every 3 weeks) plus taxane-based chemotherapy. If taxanes are contraindicated, alternative chemotherapy (other than anthracyclines or pegylated liposomal doxorubicin) may be used. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
To assess the efficacy of celecoxib loading dose of 400mg followed by 200 mg twice a day (BID) versus oral non-selective NSAIDs in acute pain due to ankle sprain.
This study was designed to compare the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of the combination valsartan/amlodipine 160/5 mg versus amlodipine 10 mg in patients with essential hypertension not adequately controlled (defined as mean sitting systolic blood pressure [msSBP] ≥ 130 mmHg and ≤ 160 mmHg) on amlodipine 5 mg alone. The study evaluated both the efficacy and tolerability of the treatments by providing data that assessed blood pressure and the proportion of patients developing peripheral edema.
This single arm study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of MabThera maintenance therapy following a MabThera-containing induction regimen in first line or relapsed patients with follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. All patients will receive MabThera 375mg/m2 body surface area, as an intravenous infusion, every 8 weeks. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
Management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, human immunodeficiency virus-related peripheral neuropathy, and chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy.
