NCT ID: NCT05898867 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Cognitive Bias and Heuristics in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: June 7, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to understand if certain cognitive biases and heuristics are present in patients with knee osteoarthritis being treated with open label placebo (saline injections in the knee). A predefined survey will investigate the affect heuristic and group interviews patients who have responded well or not so well respectively will be used to examine if other cognitive biases or heuristics are present. Cognitive biases are systematic patterns of deviation from norm or rationality in judgment, while heuristics are tactics, or mental shortcuts to aid in the decision-making process.

NCT ID: NCT05891041 Completed - Ileostomy - Stoma Clinical Trials

New Method for the Collection of the Output From the Ileostoma Using a Intestinal Tampon

Start date: April 26, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

1 study: A pilot study of 8 adults with ileostomy was included in this trial of "first in human" with InterPocâ„¢, an absorbent intestinal tampon safety and feasibility in humans with ileostomies. Study 2: A study in total with 24 participants, evaluating both the safety but also the functionality of InterPoc in humans with ileostomies.

NCT ID: NCT05890859 Completed - Lean Body Mass Clinical Trials

Lean Body Mass in Head and Neck Cancer Patients During Cisplatin-based Chemoradiation

Start date: April 5, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the changes in body composition in head and neck cancer patients during treatment. The main questions it aims to answer are: What is the rate of lean body mass loss and how is it associated with changes in muscle strength and functional performance? Is the lean body mass loss impacted by adding chemotherapy to the radiation treatment? Participants will be asked to undergo five body composition scans during treatment and undergo tests for muscle strength and functional performance before and after treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05889455 Completed - Clinical trials for Migraine Without Aura

Effect of Sildenafil in Individuals With Migraine Pretreated With Erenumab

COMPETE
Start date: April 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

An outstanding scientific question, that merits further investigation, is whether dilation of intracranial arteries is implicated in the pathogenesis of cephalic pain in migraine. Here, we hypothesize that experimentally-induced dilation of intracranial arteries using intake of sildenafil (a potent vasodilator) can induce cephalic pain with migraine-like features in people with migraine, who prior to the infusion are administered erenumab (anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor monoclonal antibody.

NCT ID: NCT05889442 Completed - Clinical trials for Migraine Without Aura

Effect of Levcromakalim in Individuals With Migraine Pretreated With Erenumab

NCT ID: NCT05887544 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Towards Objective Dietary Assessment in Large-scale Studies

ODA
Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Enabling an objective measure of diet, covering individual foods as well as different dietary patterns, in large-scale studies has great potential; this would for instance improve our understanding of the role of diet in long-term disease prevention and care in people with type 2 diabetes. The overarching aim of this study is to develop a framework from which dietary intake can be assessed, both as single foods and dietary patterns, in cohort studies among people with type 2 diabetes. This study is performed to assess which collection strategy best reflects long-term dietary intake and to weigh this up against feasibility and costs in large-scale studies.

NCT ID: NCT05858697 Completed - Obesity, Child Clinical Trials

Weight Development in Children With Obesity After Declining Treatment

Start date: January 1, 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Childhood obesity is a major health concern and lifestyle intervention is recommended as the cornerstone in the weight loss treatment. However, only limited knowledge exists in relation to characterization and follow-up of children who decline participation in a lifestyle intervention. The aim of this study is to investigate the long-term development in BMI z-score for children with obesity who decline to participate in a lifestyle intervention. This study identified approximately 170 children with obesity who declined treatment in a community-based lifestyle intervention. The development in BMI z-score for these children will be compared to children enrolled in the lifestyle intervention (i.e. treatment) and children who were never invited. Data from different sources will be used to answer the research question (intervention registries, health check-ups at school and Danish registries).

NCT ID: NCT05846711 Completed - Vertigo Clinical Trials

The Accuracy of Manual BPPV Diagnostics When Using VNG Goggles.

Start date: April 12, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim is to investigate the accuracy of manual diagnostics of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) by comparing it to BPPV diagnostics in mechanical rotational chair (TRV chair). VNG (videonystagmography) goggles will be used in both scenarios. Furthermore, the investigators will examine the importance of angulation and velocity in relation to the diagnostic outcome.

NCT ID: NCT05845177 Completed - Opioid Use Clinical Trials

Persistent Pain After Hip Replacement

Start date: September 4, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is a nationwide cross-sectional survey on pain and satisfaction after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Please find the full protocol uploaded on ClinicalTrials.gov

NCT ID: NCT05842772 Completed - Kidney Failure Clinical Trials

Feasibility Testing a shareD dEciSIon Making Intervention for People With Kidney failuRE, Their Relatives, and the Health Professionals in Kidney Services: a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial Study Protocol

DESIRE
Start date: March 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this research is to test the acceptability and feasibility of a shared decision making intervention and a patient decision aid to support patients with kidney failure, relatives, and health professionals in planning and deciding about end-of-life care together.
