Propel Drug-Eluting Sinus Stent Family

The purpose of this study is to confirm the long-term clinical safety and performance, acceptability of identified risks, and to detect emerging risks based on factual evidence for the PROPEL family of products when used according to labeling (in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) undergoing sinus surgery). Additionally, this study intends to collect data on use of corticosteroid-eluting implants in the European CRS population. Data collected will be used to ensure continued consistency between clinical data, the information materials supplied by the manufacturer, and the risk management documentation.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with subcutaneous anifrolumab versus placebo in adult participants with systemic sclerosis. The target population for this study includes patients who meet the 2013 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) classification for systemic sclerosis, either limited or diffuse cutaneous subsets, with a disease duration of less than 6 years from first non-Raynaud's phenomenon symptom.

Clinical Phenotypes in Pericarditis: IL-1RA Antibodies and suPAR Levels

This study aims to investigate the pathophysiology of recurrent pericarditis (RP) by testing for neutralizing autoantibodies against interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) and measuring soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) levels. The hypothesis is that these tests will provide insights into both the inflammatory and non-inflammatory phenotypes of RP, shedding light on the underlying mechanisms. The study will assess the correlation between antibody levels, suPAR levels, and markers of cardiac damage and inflammation. Longitudinal testing during acute episodes and intercritical phases is also planned. The results may guide the use of anakinra, an IL-1 receptor antagonist, in specific clinical scenarios and optimize treatment strategies for RP.

Treatment Satisfaction and Treatment Adherence of Diabetic Women Through the Use of FGM

The incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), a glucose tolerance disorder during pregnancy, is increasing. In Germany, it reached 8.58 % in 2019. Standardized treatment has reduced complications for mother and child. Blood self-measurement is currently used to monitor glucose levels, but it is burdensome and disliked by patients. Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM) was approved in 2017, but its routine use lacks sufficient data. This pilot project aims to study the impact of FGM on patient satisfaction and adherence to therapy. The hypothesis is that FGM will improve patient experience and increase therapy adherence. The study will include 100 GDM-diagnosed women who will be randomly assigned to FGM or SMBG treatment. The primary endpoint is treatment satisfaction and adherence, measured through step count, physical activity, food error count, and weight gain. The project aims to provide data for patient-centered decision-making on glucose monitoring systems, following the principles of the Association of Diabetes Counseling and Training Professions in Germany (VDBD).

Interventional Therapy of Tracheal Stenosis

After respiratory weaning, decannulation is sought. To do this, the tracheal cannula is first unblocked, so that patients no longer breathe in and out through the cannula, but (at least partially) "passing" the cannula by the natural route. In the presence of tracheal stenosis there is increased breathing effort, possibly restlessness and stridor. This constellation of symptoms suggests the suspicion of tracheal stenosis, so in the next step a tracheoscopy is performed to confirm or exclude tracheal stenosis. In case of symptomatic tracheal stenosis and at least 30-50% stenosis of the trachea (clinical symptoms can be expected from a 30-50% stenosis) then appropriate therapy (here: cryotherapy, other techniques only in exceptional cases) is planned. The goal is to be able to remove the tracheal cannula (long term) after successful therapy, so that patients do not have to be permanently provided with a tracheal cannula. There is no definitive/evidence-based standard therapy for the treatment of tracheal stenosis. Cryotherapy is a gentle therapy that has already been applied and described for the treatment of tracheal stenosis (see above). The examination is performed as part of an analgesic dose, as is routine for a bronchoscopy (in-house SOP). After treatment, a follow-up is planned for about 10 days later.

A Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Different Doses of LEO 138559 in Adults With Moderate-to-severe Atopic Dermatitis

The purpose of this trial is to test different doses of the trial medicine (LEO 138559) at treating moderate to severe atopic dermatitis in adults. There will be 4 different doses, that will also be compared to a placebo (a dummy medicine that doesn't contain the active ingredient of LEO 138559). Each participant will be randomly assigned to one of the 4 doses of LEO 138559 or placebo. In all arms, injections of placebo may be used to mask the different doses. The trial will last up to 36 weeks, including a screening/washout period (up to 4 weeks), a treatment period (16 weeks), and a follow up period (16 weeks). The participants will visit the clinic 17 times. For the first 4 weeks of the treatment period, participants will visit the clinic every week. For the next 12 weeks of the treatment period, participants will visit the clinic every 2 weeks. For the 16 week follow up period, participants will visit the clinic every 4 weeks. The treatments will be given to the participants by staff at the clinic. They are given as an injection just under the skin. At each visit the doctor will check the participants atopic dermatitis and if they have had any side effects. Participants will also complete an electronic diary every day about their atopic dermatitis and quality of life.
