NCT ID: NCT02907632 Completed - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux

Methoclopramide for Gastroesophageal Reflux in Premature Infants

Start date: April 26, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) is a condition that affects the majority of premature infants that are followed at the Kangaroo Mother Care Program (ambulatory program for preterm infants discharged with their mothers in continuous skin to skin contact and strict outpatient follow up). For over 20 years, the use of Metoclopramide has been systematic among all preterm infants according to the protocols of the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) Program . The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and security of metoclopramide to lessen the symptoms of GRE in premature infants that are followed and treated in the Ambulatory KMC Program before 40 weeks of gestational age. Design: Randomized, double blind trial, controlled with placebo. Eligible Population: Premature infants that are followed and treated in the Ambulatory Kangaroo Mother Care Program at Hospital Universitario San Ignacio before 40 weeks of gestational age, which systematically receive: metoclopramide 0.2 mg per kg, every 8 hours, 15 minutes before every feeding up to 40 weeks of gestational age, between January 01 2017 and December 31 2017.Outcomes: Incidence of regurgitation episodes reported by the parents of the infants, episodes of apnea, bronchoaspiration, postprandial irritability, the infant rejects feeding, alteration in the postprandial posture and the frequency and severity of adverse effects associated with the use of Metoclopramide such as extrapyramidal symptoms and sedation. In the case of continuous variables, the mean and median will be compared according to the distribution and for nominal variables, a chi squared test or fisher test will be carried out. Duration: 12 months. Ethical Aspects: Experiment with minimum mayor risk. Informed consent will be requested to parents. An independent committee from the work group will be in charge of carrying out the follow-up of the safety and progression of the study. A methodological expert, a thematic expert, a statistician and an expert in bioethics will constitute the committee. Financial Disclosure: The study will be funded through the Kangaroo Foundation with the collaboration of the " Hospital Universitario San Ignacio", Bogotá, Colombia.

NCT ID: NCT02899299 Completed - Mesothelioma Clinical Trials

CheckMate743
Start date: November 29, 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness and tolerability of the combination of Nivolumab and Ipilimumab compared to Pemetrexed and Cisplatin or Carboplatin in patients with unresectable pleural mesothelioma.

NCT ID: NCT02892344 Completed - Mild Asthma Clinical Trials

Study of QMF149 (150/80 µg) Compared With MF Twisthaler® (200 µg) in Patients With Asthma

Start date: January 16, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial was to evaluate efficacy and safety of QMF149 150/80 microgram o.d. delivered via Concept1 compared to MF 200 microgram o.d., delivered via Twisthaler® in terms of lung function and symptom control in poorly (ie inadequately) controlled asthma patients. This study was to assess contribution of LABA as an add-on therapy to low dose ICS monotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT02892019 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Indacaterol Acetate Delivered Via the Concept1 Inhalation Device in Children Greater or Equal to 6 and Less Than 12 Years of Age With Asthma

Start date: April 18, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed to explore lung function effects of two doses of indacaterol acetate, 75 μg and 150 μg, in pediatric asthma patients 6-11 years old, and to compare the systemic exposure to indacaterol in plasma with historical data in adults, to identify an appropriate dose to Phase III evaluation.

NCT ID: NCT02886169 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

Effectiveness of Sacha Inchi Supplementation on Postprandial Inflammation

ESISOPI
Start date: March 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The postprandial state increases triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels, promoting cellular lipids accumulation, insulin resistance, increased inflammatory markers and the formation of foam cells, a situation that can have different effects depending the type of dietary fat and presence of metabolic conditions such as abdominal obesity and insulin resistance. Given that the diet of the Colombian population is rich in saturated fats, and taking into consideration the general resistance to complex dietary changes, the purpose of this study is to evaluate whether Sacha Inchi oil supplementation of a high-fat meal is effective in reducing levels of biochemical markers of cardiovascular risk in adults with and without abdominal obesity.

NCT ID: NCT02876835 Completed - Anaemia Clinical Trials

Anemia Studies in Chronic Kidney Disease: Erythropoiesis Via a Novel Prolyl Hydroxylase Inhibitor Daprodustat-Non-Dialysis (ASCEND-ND)

Start date: September 27, 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this multi-center event-driven study in non-dialysis (ND) participants with anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of daprodustat compared to darbepoetin alfa.

NCT ID: NCT02856984 Completed - Clinical trials for Zika Virus Disease (Disorder)

Zika in Infants and Pregnancy (ZIP)

Start date: June 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The overall objective of this multisite, multicountry Zika in Infants and Pregnancy (ZIP) study is to assess the strength of the association between Zika virus infection (ZIKV) during pregnancy and adverse maternal/fetal outcomes and the risk of vertical transmission. The study will prospectively enroll a cohort of pregnant women up to 17 weeks and 6 days gestation and subjects at any gestational age with acute Zika infection, confirmed by serology or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. The study will follow these women through their pregnancy to identify for clinical evidence of acute ZIKV, while controlling for potential confounders. Outcomes in the women, the developing fetus, and infants will be assessed. All protocol-specified data will be recorded and entered in a central data management system for the purposes of analysis of composite data from the study.

NCT ID: NCT02851069 Completed - Chronic Hepatitis C Clinical Trials

Real World Evidence of the Effectiveness of Paritaprevir/r - Ombitasvir, ± Dasabuvir, ± Ribavirin in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C in Colombia

outCome
Start date: February 23, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a prospective, multi-center observational study in adult participants chronically infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) receiving the interferon-free ABBVIE REGIMEN (ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir with or without dasabuvir) with or without ribavirin (RBV). The prescription of a treatment regimen was at the discretion of the physician in accordance with local clinical practice and label. This study focused on collecting real world data. Follow-up visits, treatment, procedures and diagnostic methods followed physicians' routine clinical practice using a 12-week treatment regimen (four visits plus two interim data collection windows) or a 24-week treatment regimen (four visits plus three interim data collection windows) and is based on the anticipated regular follow-up for patients undergoing treatment for chronic hepatitis C (CHC). Participants are observed for the duration of the ABBVIE REGIMEN therapy and for up to 24 weeks after treatment completion.
