NCT ID: NCT01358877 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of Pertuzumab in Addition to Chemotherapy and Trastuzumab as Adjuvant Therapy in Participants With Human Epidermal Growth Receptor 2 (HER2)-Positive Primary Breast Cancer

APHINITY
Start date: November 8, 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, two-arm study will assess the safety and efficacy of pertuzumab in addition to chemotherapy plus trastuzumab as adjuvant therapy in participants with operable HER2-positive primary breast cancer. This study will be carried out in collaboration with the Breast International Group (BIG).

NCT ID: NCT01288248 Active, not recruiting - Bradycardia Clinical Trials

Noninferiority Clinical Trial With Laryngeal Mask and Endotracheal Tube

Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of laryngeal mask classic as method for securing the airway in the population of 2 years to 14 years is associated with risk of laryngospasm as compared with the use of endotracheal tube.

NCT ID: NCT01272037 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Invasive Breast Carcinoma

Tamoxifen Citrate, Letrozole, Anastrozole, or Exemestane With or Without Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Invasive RxPONDER Breast Cancer

Start date: January 15, 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized phase III clinical trial studies how well tamoxifen citrate, anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane with or without chemotherapy work in treating patients with breast cancer that has spread from where it began in the breast to surrounding normal tissue (invasive). Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy, using tamoxifen citrate, may fight breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells. Aromatase inhibitors, such as anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane, may fight breast cancer by lowering the amount of estrogen the body makes. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving tamoxifen citrate, anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane is more effective with combination chemotherapy in treating patients with breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT01048853 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cervical Adenocarcinoma

Conservative Surgery in Treating Patients With Low-Risk Stage IA2 or IB1 Cervical Cancer

Start date: August 25, 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial studies conservative surgery in treating patients with low-risk stage IA2 or IB1 cervical cancer. Conservative surgery is a less invasive type of surgery for early stage cervical cancer and may have fewer side effects and improve recovery.

NCT ID: NCT00891202 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Gaucher Disease, Type 1

A Study of Eliglustat Tartrate (Genz-112638) in Patients With Gaucher Disease (ENGAGE)

Start date: November 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This Phase 3 study is designed to confirm the efficacy and safety of eliglustat tartrate (Genz-112638) in participants with Gaucher disease Type 1.

NCT ID: NCT00829166 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

An Open-label Study of Trastuzumab Emtansine (T-DM1) vs Capecitabine + Lapatinib in Patients With HER2-positive Locally Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer

EMILIA
Start date: February 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase III, randomized, multicenter, international, 2-arm, open-label clinical trial designed to compare the safety and efficacy of trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) with that of capecitabine + lapatinib for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Patients were treated until disease progression, unmanageable toxicity, or study termination. Once disease progression was reported, all patients were followed for survival every 3 months until death, loss to follow-up, withdrawal of consent, or study termination.

NCT ID: NCT00718263 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Myelogenous Leukemia, Chronic

Efficacy and Safety of Nilotinib Patients With Newly Diagnosed CML - CP (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia - Chronic Phase)

PHCHBS-WD4070
Start date: April 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of nilotinib after failure of imatinib therapy or imatinib therapy after nilotinib failure.

NCT ID: NCT00600886 Active, not recruiting - Acromegaly Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of Pasireotide Long Acting Release (LAR) vs. Octreotide LAR in Patients With Active Acromegaly

Start date: February 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The patients will receive either Pasireotide LAR or Octreotide LAR for one year of treatment. The objective of this study is to compare the proportion of patients with a reduction of mean GH level to <2.5 µg/L and the normalization of IGF-1 to within normal limits (age and sex related) between the two treatment groups (pasireotide LAR and octreotide LAR) at 12 months. Following one year of treatment patients may proceed into the study extension. Patients who did not respond to the treatment they were randomized to (based on month 12 assessment results) will be switched to the other treatment arm at month 13.
