There are about 2320 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Chile. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is an inflammatory skin disease that causes painful lesions in the axilla (underarm), inguinal (groin) and anogenital (anal/genital) regions. This study will assess how safe and effective upadacitinib is in treating adult and adolescent participants with moderate to severe HS who have failed to respond to or are intolerant of anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy. Adverse events and change in disease activity will be assessed. Upadacitinib is an approved drug for ulcerative colitis, atopic dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and axial spondylarthritis and is being developed for the treatment of HS. This study is "double-blinded", meaning that neither the trial participants nor the study doctors will know who will be given upadacitinib and who will be given placebo. This study is comprised of 3 periods. In Period 1, participants are randomized into 2 groups called treatment arms where each group receives a different treatment. There is a 1 in 2 chance that participants will be assigned to placebo. In Period 2, participants are placed into 6 different groups depending on their placement and results in Period 1. Period 3 is the long-term extension period where participants will continue treatment from Period 2. Approximately 1328 adult and adolescent participants diagnosed with HS will be enrolled in approximately 275 sites worldwide. Participants will receive oral tablets of upadacitinib or placebo once daily for 36 weeks in Period 1 and Period 2. Eligible participants from Period 1 and Period 2 will enter Period 3 and receive oral tablets of upadacitinib or placebo once daily for 68 weeks. Participants will be followed up for approximately 30 days. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular outpatient visits during the study. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
This study is being conducted to determine the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of INCB099280 in participants with advanced Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
The purpose of this clinical study is to test the hypothesis that RF vapor ablation of the duodenal mucosa will result in improvement in glycemic parameters, without complications (bleeding/ stricture / perforation). The main aims of the study are : 1. Evaluate the safety of the device and procedure based on the reported adverse events that occur. 2. Evaluate the effectiveness of the device and procedure by comparing change in HbA1c from baseline to 168 days post procedure. 3. Evaluate device tolerability based on pain scores reported by patients. The subject population for this study are adults (18-65 years of age) with type-2 diabetes mellitus. Study participation is 6 months for each patient. The study is comprised of 4 phases: Screening, Run-in, RF Vapor ablation procedure, and Post-vapor ablation follow-up (up to 168 days).
The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and to explore the efficacy of astegolimab in participants with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who have completed the 52-week placebo-controlled treatment period in parent studies GB43311 or GB44332.
The purpose of this study is to learn how well efinopegdutide works compared to placebo in people who have non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Researchers will also learn about the safety and benefit of efinopegdutide and how well people tolerate the medicine. The main goal of the study is to compare how many people taking efinopegdutide or placebo stop showing evidence of NASH without liver scarring getting worse.
The Munich Trascatheter Mitral Valve System is intended for beating heart, mitral valve replacement in patients with a diseased, damaged, or malfunctioning mitral valve. Access is provided through the Femoral Vein and transseptal approach by means of a 27Fr catheter. The bioprosthetic valve consists of a self-expanding, tri-leaflet, dry bovine-pericardial valve. The dry tissue allows the valve to be conveniently pre-loaded. The valve is available in three sizes and has been designed to reduce the complexity of implantation in comparison to other TMVR systems.
To assess mortality and morbidity associated to anesthesia interventions
A study evaluating the efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of GLPG3667 administered orally once daily for 48 weeks in approximately 180 adult participants with active Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
This cross-sectional observational study aims to determine the prevalence of Persistent COVID-19 in 282 individuals in Punta Arenas, Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region. Persistent COVID-19 is a complex array of symptoms that persist or emerge for more than 4 weeks beyond SARS-CoV-2 infection. Recent studies suggest that up to 80% of survivors may develop chronic multi-organ dysfunction due to persistent inflammation and immune dysregulation, making it an ongoing public health concern worldwide. The study aims to (1) describe and establish the frequency of physical and psychological signs and symptoms in adult patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, (2) identify individuals who meet the WHO case definition of Persistent COVID-19 in Chile, (3) explore risk factors associated with persistent COVID-19 to guide intervention strategies, and (4) explore inflammatory and molecular biomarkers associated with persistent COVID-19. The research project utilizes a stratified random sampling with a mixed-methods embedded design. In the first phase, individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 will be recruited and followed up to complete the study's sample universe. A sociodemographic survey, blood sampling (including complete blood count, biochemical profile, immunoglobulin mutational status analysis, and analysis of inflammatory biomarkers), and a battery of psychological tests will be administered. In the second phase, kinesiology studies and medical consultation and evaluation will be conducted to determine if individuals have Persistent COVID-19 and to derive them to the healthcare network. In the final follow-up phase, participants diagnosed with Persistent COVID-19 will be invited to undergo musculoskeletal and respiratory assessments to complete the diagnosis of symptoms associated with the pathology.
To determine the effect of Pegozafermin on fasting serum triglyceride levels in subjects with Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (TG ≥500 to ≤2000 mg/dL) after 26 weeks of treatment.
