There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this clinical trial is to confirm the feasibility and safety of performing radiosurgery on unruptured, low-risk aneurysms in humans. Participants will choose if they want to undergo radiosurgery or not. Participants who choose not to have radiosurgery will be assigned to the observational group. Participants who choose to have radiosurgery performed will be assigned to the radiosurgery group. Participants in both groups will attend an initial exam session as well as four follow-up sessions: Day 0 - Initial questionnaire - CTA scan - MRI - Radiosurgery performed on patients in the radiosurgery group 6 months - CTA scan - Follow-up questionnaire 12 months - CTA scan - MRI - Follow-up questionnaire 24 months - CTA scan - Follow-up questionnaire 36 months - CTA scan - MRI - Follow-up questionnaire Researchers will compare the observational group and the radiosurgery group to see if there is a difference in the incidence of aneurysm rupture during the study period (3 years). The hypothesis is that radiosurgery should not increase the risk of aneurysm rupture.
The purpose of this study is to understand the safety and effectiveness of the study drug, Dysport® when compared with placebo in preventing episodic migraine. A migraine is a headache with severe throbbing pain or a pulsating sensation, usually on one side of the head, and is often accompanied by feeling or being sick and a sensitivity to bright lights and sound. Episodic Migraine is defined as having less than 15 days of headache a month with at least 6 days with migraine headaches. Migraines are caused by a series of events which cause the brain to get stimulated / activated, which results in the release of chemicals that cause pain. Dysport® is a formulation of Botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), a medication that stops the release of these chemical messengers. The study will consist of 3 periods: 1. A 'screening period' of 6 to 12 weeks to assess whether the participant can take part to the study and requires 1 visit. 2. A first Treatment Phase of 24 weeks. On Day 1 and at Week 12 of the first Treatment Phase, participants will receive injections into various muscles across the head, neck, face and shoulders. The injections will contain either a dose "A" or a dose ''B'' of Dysport® or a placebo (an inactive substance or treatment that looks the same as, and is given in the same way as, an active drug or intervention/treatment being studied). Participants will make 4 visits to the clinic in person and have 4 remote (online) visits. 3. A second Treatment Phase of 24 weeks (extension phase). At Week 24 and at Week 36, all participants will get Dysport® (dose "A" or dose "B"). There will be 3 in person visits and 4 remote visits. Participants will need to complete an e-diary and questionnaires throughout the study. Participants will undergo blood samplings, urine collections, physical examinations, and clinical evaluations. They may continue some other medications, but the details need to be recorded. The total study duration for a participant will be up to 60 weeks (approx. 14 months).
The purpose of this study is to understand the safety and effectiveness of the study drug, Dysport® when compared with placebo in preventing chronic migraine. A migraine is a headache with severe throbbing pain or a pulsating sensation, usually on one side of the head, and is often accompanied by feeling or being sick and a sensitivity to bright lights and sound. Chronic migraine is defined as having at least 15 days of headache a month with at least 8 of those days being migraine headache days. Migraines are caused by a series of events which cause the brain to get stimulated/activated, which results in the release of chemicals that cause pain. Dysport® is a formulation of Botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), a medication that stops the release of these chemical messengers. The study will consist of 3 periods: 1. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of glofitamab in combination with polatuzumab vedotin plus rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisone (Pola-R-CHP) vs Pola-R-CHP in participants with previously untreated CD20-positive large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL).
Postpartum (child age 0-5 years) mental health problems are common, with prevalence rates ranging from 15-20% for depression, 3-43% for anxiety, and approximately 30% for anger. Depression, anxiety, and anger often occur comorbidly. If left untreated, these disorders can be long-lasting and lead to child behaviour problems, brain changes, and risk for later mental illness. We developed an app-based treatment for parental mental illness: Building Emotional Awareness and Mental Health in Parenting (BEAM). The BEAM program includes mental health and parenting videos, peer coaching, as well as a forum and drop-in Zoom sessions where parents can connect with each other to receive and provide social support. The program is supported by peer coaches (parents with lived experience of recovery from mental illness and who may have received emotion-focused parenting support) and supervised by clinically-trained staff. Peer coaches check-in with parents weekly to support their progress. Our study will see the BEAM app's effect on parent mental health, parenting stress, child behaviour, and child brain structure and function. 240 parents with high depression, anxiety, and/or anger symptoms will be recruited, with half forming the treatment-as-usual group.
The primary purpose of Study INZ701-106 (The ENERGY 3 Study) is to assess the efficacy and safety of INZ-701 in children with ENPP1 Deficiency.
This study aims to find the appropriately safe and effective dose and dosing frequency for eltrekibart in adults with moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) for further clinical development. The study will last approximately 62 weeks and may include up to 31 visits.
The aim of this clinical trial is to investigate whether a fully automated Lyumjev-and-pramlintide delivery system improves glycemic outcomes in adults with type 1 diabetes. The main question we aim to answer is whether a Lyumjev-pramlintide fully closed loop system improves time in range compared to a hybrid closed loop system with carbohydrate counting. We also aim to find the optimal insulin to pramlintide ratio for glycemic control in the fully automated system. In this cross-over study, patients will undergo the following three interventions in a random order: (i) fully automated Lyumjev insulin-and-pramlintide (8 μg/u) (ii) fully automated Lyumjev insulin-and-pramlintide (10 μg/u) (iii) rapid automated Lyumjev insulin-and-placebo with carbohydrate-matched boluses For all interventions, participants will be required to wear two Ypsomed pumps programmed by our developed EuGlide system.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ide-cel with lenalidomide (LEN) maintenance to that of LEN maintenance alone in adult participants with Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma (NDMM) who have achieved a suboptimal response post autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT).
The main aim of this study is to learn about the effect of treatment with vedolizumab IV (vedolizumab) together with adalimumab or vedolizumab together with ustekinumab in adults with moderate to severe Crohn's Disease, and the effect of treatment with vedolizumab alone, after the dual targeted treatment. The study is conducted in two parts. In Part A, participants will receive the dual targeted treatment (vedolizumab together with either adalimumab or ustekinumab). In part B, participants will receive vedolizumab only. Part B will include participants who responded to the treatment in Part A. Each participant will be followed up for at least 26 weeks after the last dose of treatment.
