There are about 2700 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Bulgaria. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Respiratory viruses pose a permanent threat to humans and society as demonstrated by the current Covid-19 pandemic. Novel drugs and vaccines provide a means for controlling illness. Infections and symptomatic presentation of illness may be reduced, but it remains to be determined to which extent viral shedding and transmission (e.g. by silent transmitters) can be controlled. Lack of such activity may result in continuing viral spread by assumed healthy but asymptomatic spreaders. Echinacea is an established and readily-accessible product with demonstrated in vitro antiviral activity (including coronaviruses). This study aims to estimate the potential of different Echinacea formulations (head-to-head) to reduce concentration infectivity and shedding of SARS-CoV-2 under in vivo conditions.
The safety run-in part of the study aims to evaluate the safety and tolerability of blinatumomab alternating with low-intensity chemotherapy. The phase 3 part of the study aims to compare event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) of participants receiving blinatumomab alternating with low-intensity chemotherapy to EFS and (OS) of participants receiving standard of care (SOC) chemotherapy.
A multi-centre, randomized, parallel-group, double-blind, controlled, exploratory clinical trial is conducted to assess the positive effect of feeding a formula containing synbiotics (pre- and probiotics) on the composition of the gut microbiota in caesarean section (CS) born healthy term infants within the first 6 months of life.
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of adding lazertinib to amivantamab, carboplatin, and pemetrexed (LACP/ACP-L dosing strategies) and amivantamab, carboplatin and pemetrexed (ACP) compared with carboplatin and pemetrexed (CP) in participants with locally advanced or metastatic epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) Exon 19del or Exon 21 L858R substitution non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after osimertinib failure. The purpose of the extension cohort is to further describe the safety and efficacy for the ACP-L dosing schedule versus ACP with additional data. After completion of the primary analysis, the study may eventually transition to an open-label extension (OLE) or long-term extension (LTE) phase during which participants will have the option to continue their assigned treatment.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of efavaleukin alfa on induction of clinical remission in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC). Participants will be randomized to receive 1 of 3 efavaleukin alfa doses or placebo during a 12-week induction period. Participants who complete the 12-week induction period will have the option to enter an exploratory long-term treatment period for up to 40 weeks (total of up to 52 weeks of treatment) if, in the opinion of the investigator, they may benefit from continued treatment. During the long-term period, participants randomized to efavaleukin alfa will remain on the same efavaleukin alfa blinded dose; participants randomized to placebo who achieved clinical response at week 12 will remain on placebo; and placebo non-responders (ie, participants randomized to placebo who did not achieve clinical response at week 12) will receive efavaleukin alfa in a blinded manner during continued treatment. All participants will complete a safety follow-up visit 6 weeks after their last dose of investigational product.
This is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center sequential phase 2b and Phase 3 study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of AZD4831 administered for up to 48 Weeks in participants with heart failure with left ventricular ejection fraction > 40%. The study will consist of 2 separate parts, Part A and Part B, approximately 660 participants will be randomised in Part A, 820 in Part B.
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, fixed-dose study in patients with a primary diagnosis of MDD according to criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) who have an inadequate response to ongoing ADT.
An open-label investigation using MED3000 gel or tadalafil (5 mg) tablets in the treatment of erectile dysfunction in patients from 22 to 70 years of age. Each patients will be expected to participate for up to 30 weeks. Eligible patients will be randomised to receive either MED3000 gel or tadalafil (5 mg) tablets in a 1:1 ratio.
This is a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, multicenter, non-inferiority study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of FEP-ZID vs. meropenem in the treatment of hospitalized adults with cUTI or AP. Approximately 528 hospitalized adult subjects (≥ 18 years of age) diagnosed with cUTI or AP will be enrolled in the study. The diagnosis of cUTI or AP will be based on a combination of clinical symptoms and signs plus the presence of pyuria. The total duration of treatment with study drug is 7 to 10 days. Each subject must remain hospitalized during the study drug treatment period; no outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy is allowed.
Opicapone (OPC) is a third generation catechol O methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitor (COMTi) developed by BIAL-Portela & Cª, S.A. It is approved as adjunctive therapy to preparations of L-DOPA/DDCI in adult patients with Parkinson's disease and end-of-dose motor fluctuations who cannot be stabilized on those combinations. Carbidopa and benserazide are both DDCIs used in association with L DOPA. When OPC is co administered with L DOPA/DDCI, peripheral COMT is inhibited and thus L DOPA plasma levels increase, increasing L DOPA bioavailability. The purpose of this Phase III study is to explore the potential of OPC to enhance the clinical benefit of L-DOPA in L DOPA treated patients in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease (PD) (patients without end-of-dose motor fluctuations, 'non fluctuators').
