World Health Organization (WHO) Novel-19 Corrosion Disease (COVID) in 2019 without being used by a pathway caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. After the acute period in COVID-19 patients, muscle weakness may continue in breathing, weakness, and training. The effects on core stabilization, pulmonary functions, respiratory muscle strength, physical activity scores and quality of life in healthy adults who do not have COVID-19 who do regular exercise may be higher than in healthy adults who do regular exercise with COVID-19.
1. Investigate the possible effects of interleukin-6 receptor antagonists such as tocilizumab and sarilumab on the levels of IL-6, inflammtory and anti-inflammtory markers and cytokines before and after treatment in critically ill corona virus disease-19 patients. 2. Correlate between IL-6 levels with other inflammatory markers as ferritin and C-reactive protein. 3. investigate the possible changes on the levels of other inflammatory, anti-inflammatory markers and cytokines such as IL-10 and IP-10, before and after treatment.
This study will assess the acceptability, feasibility, and impact of game-based computer-delivered cognitive training on cognitive function in persons with cognitive symptoms that persist after recovery from acute coronavirus-19 (COVID) infection.
The primary purpose is to describe the safety of administration of three doses of STS to critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19. A secondary purpose is to describe data on the clinical efficacy of administration of up to three doses of STS in critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19.
Demographic, Clinical and laboratory data as well as outcome of total 202 COVID-19 patients who were Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) positive and admitted in Fatima memorial Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, was collected during first and other waves. Data of First wave is from May 2020 to July 2020, second wave from early November to Mid December 2020 and third wave from Mid march to June 2021. Investigator analyzed the data on basis of Systemic immune inflammatory index (SII) as well hematological parameters of First Wave were compared to other waves of COVID-19.
The CRP/albumin ratio (CAR) is a recently defined parameter which represents the ratio of a positive acute phase reactant to a negative acute phase reactant. Recent studies have shown that the CRP/albumin ratio is a biomarker with prognostic value for various inflammatory disorders and serious diseases. With this study it is aimed to investigate the effect of CRP/albumin ratio in predicting the severity and prognosis of the disease in pregnant patients with more severe Covid-19 infection.
Of the 1,900,000 Canadians who have been infected by COVID-19, 8 to 15% will continue to experience COVID-19 related symptoms well after 12 weeks. The persistence of such symptoms is now defined as "long COVID" syndrome. Current evidence does not provide a clear understanding of the physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations that persons with long COVID present. The objectives of this project are to describe the physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations experienced by people with long COVID and compare the evolution over 6 months of people from three separate groups: a group of people with long COVID (long COVID Group), another group of people who contracted COVID-19 but did not experience persistent symptoms (acute COVID Group), and a group of people who did not contract COVID-19 (Control Group). One hundred and twenty adults in each of the three groups will be recruited and will take part in three evaluations within 6 months (baseline and 3 and 6 months after baseline). At baseline, all participants will complete questionnaires on sociodemographics, COVID symptomatology and comorbidity, and self-reported questionnaires on quality of life, functional status, sleep, pain-related disabilities, anxiety, depression, fatigue and cognitive function. Then, physical and cognitive tests will be performed in a laboratory to provide complementary results on impairments and functional limitations. Finally, participants will wear a fitness tracker watch to monitor their activity and sleep for 7 days. The participants will complete the same measures (questionnaires, lab measures, fitness tracker watch) at 3 and 6 months after baseline evaluations. This project will lead to a better understanding of the impairments/limitations experienced following COVID-19. Hence, these results will allow to identify the interventions needed by the population and ensure these are offered through effective healthcare pathways.
This study will evaluate the safety of administering an additional dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or mRNA bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine to individuals who have had adverse reactions to a previous dose or administering an initial dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine to individuals with a personal history of allergic reaction. In addition, this study will evaluate the safety of administering an initial or additional dose or bivalent booster of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine to individuals experiencing an adverse reaction to a natural COVID-19 infection ("long COVID"). Eligible participants enrolled in this trial will receive an initial or additional dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 bivalent vaccine or the Moderna COVID-19 bivalent vaccine. Participants will also be required to have 1-2 in person visits along with phone call follow up visits. We hypothesize that individuals who have had adverse reactions to a previous dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will tolerate an additional dose of the primary mRNA vaccine or bivalent booster, as indicated, and those with a personal history of allergic reaction will tolerate an initial dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. We also hypothesize that those individuals experiencing an adverse reaction will tolerate an initial or additional dose of a primary mRNA COVID-19 bivalent vaccine, as indicated. The study hypothesizes that individuals that have had adverse reactions to a dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will tolerate an additional dose and those with a personal history of allergic reaction will tolerate vaccination with an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
The aim of the study is to compare two methods of oxygen therapy in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome in the course of SARS-CoV2 pneumonia. The initial method of oxygen supply during coronavirus pneumonia is conventional oxygen therapy using a face mask or nasal cannula. However, there have been reports in the literature that early initiation of high-flow oxygen therapy with a nasal cannula is associated with better prognosis. The study we perform is intended to provide reliable evidence for confirmation this hypothesis.
