NCT ID: NCT06110052 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mullerian Duct Anomalies

Clinical Presentations and Surgical Outcome of Obstructive Müllerian Anomalies

Start date: December 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The present study aims at: A. The main outcome is to compare preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale VAS from 0 to 10 of maximum perceived pain in ladies with OMAs. 1. description of clinical presentation and percentage of OMAs in relation to other Mullerian anomalies 2. description of different subtypes and its percentage. 3. description of the corrective procedures and their short-term outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT06098872 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Arteriovenous Malformations

Pilot Study on Trametinib for Surgical Unruptured AVMs

Start date: January 30, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a tangle of abnormal vessels that can progress through life and cause significant bleeding, deformity, pain, and deficits in day-to-day activities. Surgery is a common treatment option for patients with AVMs where the goal is to safely remove the entire AVM without causing complications. While any surgery has its potential risks, most of the potential modifiable risk factors relate to the AVM's structure, such as the AVM size or presence of high risk structural features seen on scans. The purpose of this pilot study is to see whether taking an oral medication called Trametinib can improve upon the AVM structure in adult patients before their scheduled surgery.

NCT ID: NCT06095219 Recruiting - Hip Disease Clinical Trials

MRI-based 3D Hip Labrum and Cartilage Morphology in Patients With Hip Deformities Compared to Asymptomatic Volunteers

Start date: January 18, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study, the investigators seek to describe the normal 3D hip joint morphology in asymptomatic volunteers and compare it to various hip joint deformities. Asymptomatic volunteers will be asked to undergo a non-contrast MRI of the hip at 3 Tesla, utilizing a high-resolution morphologic 3D sequence (3D T2 DESS) that enables the segmentation of labrum and cartilage. 3D morphological parameters of the asymptomatic group will subsequently be compared with the 3D morphological parameters of patients with hip deformities, which were collected as part of a previous retrospective study.

NCT ID: NCT06091332 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Brain Stem Hemorrhage

Hemorrhagic Brainstem Cavernous Malformations Treatment With Sirolimus: a Single Centre, Randomised, Placebo-controlled Trial

CALM
Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study employs a single-center, prospective, randomized controlled, double-blind exploratory research design. To investigate whether Sirolimus can reduce the rebleeding rate of brainstem cavernous malformations within 24 months after the first symptomatic bleeding event.

NCT ID: NCT06089902 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Congenital Heart Disease

European Prospective Registry on Anomalous Aortic Origin of the Coronary Arteries

EUROAAOCA
Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery (AAOCA) is a group of rare congenital heart defects with various clinical presentations. The lifetime-risk of an individual living with AAOCA is unknown, and data from multicentre registries are urgently needed to adapt current recommendations and guide optimal patient management. The European Registry for AAOCA (EURO-AAOCA) aims to assess differences with regard to AAOCA management between centres.

NCT ID: NCT06089629 Not yet recruiting - Ankyloglossia Clinical Trials

Frenuloplasty for Speech and Myofunctional Outcomes

Start date: July 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Children with ankyloglossia (tongue tie) can have abnormal tongue function, putting them at a disadvantage when it comes to speech and articulation. Furthermore, abnormal tongue posture within the oral cavity increases the likelihood of myofunctional disorders.

NCT ID: NCT06079125 Recruiting - Tonsillectomy Clinical Trials

PFDD Versus PFDRT in Chiari Decompression Surgery

Start date: October 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a posterior fossa decompression and duraplasty with or without tonsil manipulation results in better patient outcomes with fewer complications and improved quality of life in those who have Chiari malformation type I and syringomyelia.

NCT ID: NCT06077890 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Arthritis, Rheumatoid

Effectiveness of Digital Rehabilitation (SIMPLI.REHAB) in Hand Arthritis

Start date: July 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study investigates the effectiveness of SIMPLI.REHAB, a digital tool employed as an interface for administering occupational rehabilitation programs to patients diagnosed with Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis. Both of these conditions are inflammatory joint disorders capable of causing significant morphofunctional alterations in the hands, especially in their advanced stages. The introduction of digital technology emerges as a complementary tool when implementing rehabilitation programs. Utilizing a prospective, longitudinal, single-blinded experimental study, 35 patients will be allocated into two groups: one receiving a complementary digital intervention through SIMPLI.REHAB and the other through a conventional rehabilitation program. Each group consists of six patients and the program spans seven weeks, focusing on therapeutic exercises, training in manual dexterity, and motor coordination, among other interventions, led by a Physiatrist. The study intends to measure outcomes based on functionality scores, pain, disease activity, joint range, grip, pinch strength, and manual dexterity, both before and after each intervention, in order to ascertain the efficacy of integrating dynamic content through the digital tool SIMPLI.REHAB, as a supplementary resource in occupational rehabilitation programs. The potential limitations of the study include potential losses of follow-up and difficulties in assessing adherence to the digital tool precisely. Nonetheless, the digital tool aims to augment functional gains in rehabilitation programs by providing patients with accessible dynamic content of home-based strategies.

NCT ID: NCT06076395 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiac Congenital Defects

Volume Versus Pressure Ventilation on Lung Atelectasis

Start date: January 12, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This prospective randomized comparative study, to assess post-operative lung atelectasis by comparing calculated lung score using ultrasound between pediatric patients intubated with LMA (laryngeal mask airway) under volume versus pressure controlled modes of ventilation.

NCT ID: NCT06070298 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Valvular Heart Disease

Can a Smartphone Listen to Your Heart? A Performance Study on Detecting Abnormalities in Your Heart Sounds

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This observational study aims to assess the performance of the software called ausculto™. ausculto™ is a collection of computer algorithms that intend to analyse heart sounds recorded from the built-in microphone of a smartphone for abnormal sounds. Participants will have their heart sounds recorded during their regular clinic appointment after consenting to participate in this study. Researchers will manually annotate the recorded heart sounds to create a database for use in future training and testing of artificial intelligence (AI) intended for medical uses.
