Filter by:The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy of Ultivision Artificial Intelligence (AI) Software in detecting adenomas in screening colonoscopy procedures. The safety of Ultivision AI Software will also be assessed. A subset of the subjects will enter a roll-in period for clinical trial safety assessment. The remainder of subjects who are eligible will enter the detection phase which comprises a screening colonoscopy procedure. In the detection phase, subjects will be randomized to a screening colonoscopy with Ultivision AI Software enhancement or without AI Software enhancement. The study will measure the mean adenomas per colonoscopy procedure, as defined by the protocol, detected while receiving either treatment option.
This study is a prospective, single-arm, open-label, multi-center, feasibility study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ColubrisMX ELS System in patients undergoing transanal endoluminal procedures, specifically colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection.
This is a cross-sectional study aimed at identifying factors which best predicts patients at high risk of colorectal cancer or colorectal adenomas and to develop a risk prediction model.
Within the gastroenterology practice of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the investigators will conduct a prospective, single-arm clinical trial to measure the effects of daily 4-gram eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), through treatment with AMR101 (VASCEPA, icosapent ethyl) on stool and tissue biomarkers associated with colorectal cancer.
Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colorectal cancer prevention by allowing the resection of superficial colorectal adenomas or adenocarcinomas. This protection, more effective in the left colon than in the right colon, is imperfect and there are some adenomas and cancers omitted during colonoscopy. The G-EYE colonoscope equipped with an integrated distal balloon would better unfold the haustrations and stabilize the endoscope. Thus, the detection rate of adenomas would be improved by this better vision. The main objective of this study is to confirm that the use of the G-EYE colonoscope allows better detection of adenomatous polyps, decrease the rate of omitted adenomes and then is more effective.
Protocol Title: Three Arm Prospective Randomized controlled trial of High-Definition White-light colonoscopy versus High-Definition White-light colonoscopy with Reveal® Distal Attachment Cap versus High-Definition White-light colonoscopy with Endocuff Vision for the detection of colorectal adenomas Hypothesis: Detection rate of adenomas in patients will be higher in procedures performed with High-Definition White-light (HDWL) colonoscopy with Reveal® distal attachment cap and HDWL colonoscopy with Endocuff Vision compared to HDWL colonoscopes alone Design: Multicenter, Prospective, randomized controlled study Primary Aim: To compare the proportion of subjects with at least one adenoma detected during HDWL colonoscopy versus HDWL colonoscopy with Reveal® distal attachment cap versus HDWL colonoscopy with Endocuff Vision. Secondary Aims: To compare the number of adenomas detected per subject with HDWL colonoscopy versus HDWL colonoscopy with Reveal® distal attachment cap versus HDWL colonoscopy with Endocuff Vision. To compare the detection rates for polyp subtypes (including advanced adenomas, serrated polyps, right sided adenomas, etc.), cecal intubation rate, insertion time, withdrawal time, and complications of HDWL colonoscopy versus HDWL colonoscopy with Reveal® distal attachment cap versus HDWL colonoscopy with Endocuff Vision.
Previous researches demonstrated that a prepackaged low-residue diet (LRD) could achieve better bowel preparation quality compared with a self-prepared LRD. However, up to now, there has been no widely acceptable standard of LRD for bowel preparation. Moreover, these prepackaged LRD adopted in previous studies mainly consisted of traditional foods without further processing. Recently, a prepackaged LRD for Special Medical Purpose was specifically designed for bowel preparation. This trail was to compare the impact of the prepackaged LRD on bowel preparation for colonoscopy with self-prepared LRD by patients.
This phase II trial studies the how well linaclotide works in treating patients with stages 0-3 colorectal cancer. Linaclotide is a very small protein that binds to receptors on intestinal cells and makes them secrete water and salt.
In the UK, around 1 in 16 men and 1 in 20 women will develop bowel cancer at some point in their lives. Most bowel cancers happen when a type of growth in the bowel called an adenoma eventually becomes cancerous. Cutting out adenomas reduces the risk of developing bowel cancer. Certain people are more likely to have adenomas than others, for example people who are overweight. People who are overweight are also more likely to develop liver disease by laying too much fat down in the liver. Studies in Asia have shown that people with fatty liver disease are more likely to have adenomas and these are more commonly found in the part of the bowel (right colon) furthest from the bottom end. Information on the link between obesity, fatty liver disease and adenomas is very limited, particularly in the Western population. The investigators will assess the link between body weight, fatty liver and adenomas in the UK population. 1430 patients will be invited; some through the bowel cancer screening programme and some with symptoms such as low blood count, bleeding or changed bowel habit. These patients will already have been referred for a camera test looking into the bowel, called a colonoscopy. Information including height, weight and some health questions will be taken. Blood samples will be taken. The investigators will compare the number of patients with adenomas who have liver disease or who are overweight with those who don't. This information will be used to develop a scoring system to predict risk of adenomas. This will help the investigators to decide if undertaking colonoscopies in these patients will identify those at increased risk of bowel cancer.
In European countries, colorectal cancer (CRC) represents an important public health problem. It is widely held view that most carcinomas develop from an adenoma-carcinoma progression. Adenoma detection rate (ADR) is a marker of high quality colonoscopy and it was inversely associated with the risk of interval colorectal cancer, advanced-stage interval cancer, and fatal interval cancer after colonoscopy. Although colonoscopy is considered the gold standard for adenoma detection, it has shown some limits, so industry has aimed at increasing detection rate of adenomas providing new technologies, most of witch to detect lesions located in blind spots. ARC Endocuff Vision (AEV), the second generation of Endocuff, represents a new generation of these devices, thus assessing the diagnostic sensibility of ARC Endocuff Vision assisted colonoscopy (EAC) is an interesting challenge. Aim of the study is to compare ADR of EAC versus standard colonoscopy among FIT positive subjects in the context of CRC screening programs.
