Filter by:This is a Phase I/II trial of elderly patients (> 70 years of age). Patients in this age group with previously un-treated Advanced Stage Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) with Stage IIIB (with malignant pleural effusion) and stage IV disease will be enrolled. Therapy consists of three drugs (Premetrexed[Alimta™], Bevacizumab and Erlotinib[Tarceva™]) which are given every 28 days.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Bortezomib is effective in the treatment of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who have not received any prior chemotherapy regimen for advanced disease.
The purpose of this study is to compare the overall survival of patients with advanced non small cell lung cancer treated with docetaxel as single therapy versus docetaxel in combination with either gemcitabine or vinorelbine or in combination with capecitabine.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of ACZONE in subjects treated with the HER1/EGFR inhibitor Tarceva (erlotinib) who develop a rash on the face
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving radiation therapy together with chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving radiation therapy together with chemotherapy and bevacizumab works in treating patients with recurrent, unresectable or stage III or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving gemcitabine together with imatinib mesylate may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving gemcitabine together with imatinib mesylate works in treating patients with recurrent or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
To assess the efficacy and safety of PF-3512676 administered in combination with pemetrexed for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC who have failed one prior chemotherapy regimen
To assess the efficacy and safety of PF-3512676 administered in combination with paclitaxel, carboplatin and bevacizumab as first-line treatment in patients with locally advanced or metastatic nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer
The general objective of this study is to improve the Quality of Life (QoL) of selected patients with advanced carcinoma of the lung. The specific objective is to evaluate the effect of treatment with epoetin alfa (recombinant human erythropoietin) on anemia related QoL and anemia in non-small cell lung cancer patients with advanced stage disease and underlying anemia of malignancy.
A randomized controlled trial comparing safety and efficacy of carboplatin and paclitaxel plus or minus sorafenib in chemonaive patients with stage III-IV non-small cell lung cancer.
