Filter by:The activities described in this proposal are aimed at addressing health care provider stress and unconscious bias to improve quality of maternal health care, particularly related to the person-centered dimensions of care-i.e. care that is respectful and responsive to women's needs, preferences, and values. The investigators focus on health provider stress and unconscious bias because they are key drivers of poor-quality care that are often not addressed in interventions designed to improve quality of maternal health care. The investigators plan to (1) test the effectiveness of an intervention that targets provider stress and bias to improve PCMC; (2) assess the cost-effectiveness of CPIPE; (3) examine the mechanisms of impact of CPIPE on PCMC; and (3) assess impact of the CPIPE intervention on distal outcomes including maternal health seeking behavior and maternal and neonatal health.
This study aims to examine the effect of progressive relaxation exercise on nurses' life satisfaction, comfort and burnout levels. Data will be collected by using Descriptive Characteristics Information Form, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Nurse Comfort Scale and Burnout Scale. The nurses in the intervention group will be asked to perform relaxation exercises. The nurses in the control group will not receive any intervention.
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the impact of a parental support package for new trainee mothers which focuses on mentorship, lactation, and sleep, and access to perinatal care. The main questions it aims to answer are whether this set of interventions will improve trainee wellbeing and decrease medical error. Participants will be randomized to intervention and control groups. The intervention group will receive: 1. A Snoo smart sleep bassinet 2. A Willow wearable breast pump 3. Access to Maven Clinic for 24/7 on-demand perinatal care 4. A faculty mentor in their own department The control group will receive the standard support currently offered by training programs. All participants will wear a Fitbit to track sleep and will take a series of surveys querying pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences; wellbeing; and professional satisfaction. Researchers will compare intervention and control groups to see if the intervention group has: 1. decreased rates of burnout 2. increased professional fulfillment 3. decreased thoughts of leaving the profession 4. increased perception of organizational and personal value alignment 5. increased sleep 6. decreased risk of medical errors 7. increased personal fulfillment of breastfeeding goals 8. decreased risk of postpartum depression
The purpose of this two-arm, parallel group individual randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of a character-strengths based coaching intervention consisting of a five-day residential workshop focusing on the use of character-strengths to address work-stress in routine situations supplemented by 8- to 10-week remote telephonic weekly coaching sessions to support rural health workers, as they face stressful situations and apply the strategies learnt in the workshop. The arms are: the character-strengths based intervention added to routine health worker supervision (weekly, by the supervisor) and routine supervision alone (control arm). The target sample comprises 330 government contracted 'ASHAs' (rural resident women, lay health workers) in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, one of the most populous and poorest of the states in India. Scores on the 'Authentic Happiness Inventory (AHI)' will serve as the primary outcome for self-reported wellbeing and will be compared between arms at 3-month follow-up. Secondary ASHA-level outcomes will include assessment of self-reported affect, self-efficacy, flourishing, burnout, and motivation. We will also collect exploratory outcomes, including routine service delivery indicators to assess any effect of changes in well-being on ASHA's regular work performance, and resulting patient-level outcomes like satisfaction with services, and depression severity levels after receiving community-based depression care delivered by the ASHAs. We will also evaluate the costs of delivering the intervention and those incurred by ASHAs due to their participation in the intervention. Assessors blind to participant allocation will collect outcomes at baseline, 1-month and 3-month follow-up, as well as at 6-month follow-up, to ascertain differences in outcomes between arms. In addition, scores of ASHAs' self-perceived character strengths will be collected at baseline and 3-month follow-up as exploratory variables.
This project includes an intervention in five Michigan Medicine family medicine clinics which is designed to improve staff collaboration across different job roles.
The following will be an open label controlled efficacy trial of the effects of longitudinal participation in an existing reflective writing program for medical students on burnout in physician assistant students.
In this single-blinded randomized controlled clinical trial 290 patients with stress or burnout will be investigated regarding the effectiveness of a digital therapeutic for improvement of stress level, the unguided online intervention reviga. Inclusion criteria are: age 18 or older, above average stress level (PSS score >21), living in Germany, working a minimum of 20h per week, having a stable treatment for at least 30 days at the time of inclusion, and consent to participation. Exclusion criterion is having plans to change the treatment in the upcoming three months at the time of inclusion. Patients will be randomized and allocated to either an intervention group, receiving reviga in addition to treatment as usual (TAU), or a control group, receiving only TAU. The control group will be granted access to the program at the end of the study. Primary endpoint will be the perceived stress measured by the PSS score, with three months post-allocation being the primary time point for assessment of effectiveness. Six months post allocation will be used as a timepoint for follow-up assessment of endpoints. Secondary endpoints will be anxiety symptoms, level of functioning, burnout symptoms, health-related quality of life, and sick days.
The goal of this clinical trial is to explore the impact of an online compassion-based intervention on burnout among specialist rehabilitation providers. Post-intervention interviews aim to gather information on: burnout and compassion, experiences with the intervention, barriers and facilitators to taking part, and suggestions for improving online course delivery.
This study plans to explore whether specially chosen relaxing music can help improve sleep, reduce stress, and prevent burnout in healthcare workers, many of whom are often sleep-deprived. The researchers will measure changes in brain activity, sleep patterns, and self-reported stress levels before, during, and after participants listen to this music. The novel approach includes using advanced brain scanning technology, sleep monitoring devices, and carefully selected music. Ultimately, the aim is to create a scientifically backed music intervention that can be used widely to help healthcare providers get better sleep and manage stress, potentially reducing burnout rates.
The goal of this study is to determine whether mastery learning in communication skills can improve skills in a simulated environment and have translational improvements in outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does mastery learning improve skills in the simulation laboratory? 2. Does mastery learning improve clinical skills as seen by milestone performance? and 3 Does mastery learning improve burnout levels? The study is a multi-institutional randomized controlled trial of anesthesiology residents from five different residency programs. Participants will be randomized to mastery training in communication skills and standard of care, which is vicarious learning. Researchers will compare these two groups to see if mastery learning improves skills and translational outcomes.
