The study aims at comparing two different approaches for soft tissue augmentation at implants lacking keratinized and adherent mucosa width: the free gingival graft (FGG) vs the Buccal Strip Graft in combination with a xenogeneic collagen matrix (BSG + CM)
This research project aims to understand the brain mechanisms behind the manifestation of psychotic symptoms in Alzheimer´s disease (AD), and nature of the unique relationship with tau pathology. Amongst the cognitive manifestations of psychosis are impairments related to frontal circuits (social cognition, working memory and executive function deficits). The investigator's previous work suggests a role of tau pathology (one of the hallmarks of AD neuropathology) in the manifestation of psychosis in AD. However, the cerebral mechanisms that underly this association remain poorly understood. The overarching aim of the study is is to investigate the mechanisms by which tau network pathology may promote the presentation of psychosis in AD.
Postictus hyperglycemia is associated with an accelerated transformation of the ischemic penumbra into an infarct area, with increased infarct size, worse recanalization, reduced cerebral perfusion, increased ischemia reperfusion damage, and worse outcome. Furthermore, when perfusion is reinstated, hyperglycemia causes secondary tissue damage through an increase in ischemic reperfusion damage. Thus, those patients with glycemia values < 155 mg/dL during mechanical thrombectomy, and especially at the time of reperfusion, will have greater ischemia-reperfusion damage, showing a different profile in miRNA expression, with better neurological and functional outcomes and higher risk of hemorrhagic transformation and cerebral edema. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the association between glycemia values at the time of reperfusion and stroke recovery at 3 months in patients with acute cerebral infarction treated with mechanical thrombectomy.
The purpose of this protocol is to evaluate the feasibility and safety of HPV-T in HPV 16 positive recurrent or metastatic solid tumor patients.
A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase III clinical trial to evaluate the effect of recombinant human Neuregulin-1 for injection on cardiac function and reverse ventricular remodeling in male patients with NT-proBNP ≤ 1700 pg/ml and female patients with NT-proBNP ≤ 4000 pg/ml and New York Heart Association class II-III chronic systolic heart failure, and to confirm its efficacy and safety.
Gestational diabetes mellitus is associated with abnormal blood sugar levels throughout pregnancy in women without prior diabetes. Many studies have been conducted on the relationship between diabetes and oxidative stress. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the presence of fundus findings in patients with gestational diabetes and/or impaired blood sugar based on the results of previous studies and to simultaneously investigate the thiol-disulfide homeostasis in the tears of the patients. There was no previous study in the literature on thiol disulfide homeostasis in tears in gestational diabetic patients.
This study will examine context sensitivity, composed of two sequential elements: (a) accurate classification of changing affective contextual demands, followed by (b) flexible selection of regulatory strategies that matches changing contextual demands, among complex PTSD vs. Healthy controls.
The goal of this observational study is to compare the perioperative EEG characteristics and the incidence of short-term cognitive dysfunction in patients with postoperative delirium and non-postoperative delirium after elderly (> 65 years old) patients undergoing major gastrointestinal surgery under general anesthesia. The main question it aims to answer are: • The correlation between postoperative cognitive dysfunction and postoperative EEG features was evaluated.• To analyze the correlation between EEG characteristics and clinical risk factors of delirium after major abdominal gastrointestinal surgery under general anesthesia in elderly patients.Participants will collect EEG before and after operation and collect the incidence of postoperative cognitive function to explore the mechanism of postoperative delirium and predict postoperative cognitive dysfunction.
This clinical study is conducted to collect data on hip arthroplasty with the SAGITTA EVL-R revision femoral stems manufactured by SERF. In order to reflect current practice, a comprehensive and continuous series of patients will be included. This study will confirm the performance and safety of the SAGITTA EVL R revision femoral stems within the framework of MDR 2017/745 and in relation to the recommendations of the MEDDEV guide 2.7.1. Rev 4 (Clinical Evaluation Guide), which provides for a systematic procedure to monitor clinical data in order to verify the claimed performance of medical devices.
The purpose of this observational study is to describe the effectiveness of deucravacitinib treatment and quality of life in adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in routine clinical practice in Germany over a 5-year period
